Exhibition Great Moravia in the context of the politics of history
Rejholec, David ; Randák, Jan (advisor) ; Stehlík, Michal (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the exhibition Great Moravia organized on the occasion of the thousandth anniversary of the arrival of Cyril and Methodius. Using the approach of the politics of history, the individual aspects by which the exhibition influenced its visitors are discussed in this text. The first part deals with the context of the annual celebrations during which the exhibition took place. It is followed by a subchapter devoted to the presentation of the exhibition within the Czechoslovak borders. Its course and ideological message are monitored in it. In the following chapter devoted to foreign reinstallations, the course of Great Moravia outside the borders of Czechoslovakia is analyzed in more detail. Furthermore, this chapter contains reflections on the ways in which the message that the exhibition carried could be passed on. In the end, it is summarized what message the exhibition was to pass on, with the central idea being "a common state of ancestors of Czechs and Slovaks."
