Vlčí důl old ecological burden, its possible health risks and Zásmuky citizens situation knowledge
Jiráková, Pavla ; Rödlová, Sylva (advisor) ; Černá, Milena (referee)
Bachelor thesis deals with problems of ecological burdens with focus on specific location Vlčí důl near Zásmuky. The theoretical part contains a general introduction to define ecological burden, historical and legislative requirements up to possibilities their elimination. Other chapters describe Aroma, a originator of contamination in Vlčí důl, the possibilities of health risks and the ecological burden itself in the Vlčí důl. The practical part includes the health effects of individual chemicals substances are situated in location Vlčí důl, general knowledge and attitudes of residensts of Zásmuky and associated municipalities to this area, which were analyzed using text analysis and questionnaire survey. Ecological burdens are comming mainly from the second half of the 20th century are a lot and the financial resources, are few owing them would the situacion to solve. Except for financial page, the political page also plays a role in solving the elimination of ecological burdens.
Impact of habitat diversity and wood debris accumulation on macroinvertebrates
Nováková, Barbora ; Matoušková, Milada (advisor) ; Rödlová, Sylva (referee)
The revitalization of watercourses should be amended to restore the natural landscape water regime. Healthly waterflow should contain a morphologically rich bed with added dead wood and alternating pools and riffle. All these structures are colonized by varied fauna, that is distributed according to its dietary requirements. These problems are devoted to the research part of work. Another part is focused on the research of three tributaries in the upper basin of Blanice river near Prachatice. The location is thanks to the population of the freshwater pearl mussel (Margaritifera margaritifera), significant not only in Czech but also in european scale. Therefore, there is an important aspect of environmental protection. Given the importance of the site, there are experimental research carried out by Department of Physical Geography and Geoecology at the Faculty of Charles University in Prague. The practical part is based on the determination of macroinvertebrates revitalized Sviňovického brook and the subsequent evaluation of water quality. Samples of macroinvertebrate were collected using method PERLA and subsequently identified in families. For use BMWP score and ASPT index, the quality of water placed in the appropriate category of water quality.
Water quality change in small watersheds after sewage water treatment plant building
Rödlová, Sylva ; Langhammer, Jakub (advisor) ; Kvítek, Tomáš (referee) ; Pechar, Libor (referee)
Změny kvality vody v malých tocích, vyvolané vybudováním čistírny odpadních vod, představují doposud málo studované a přitom velmi aktuální téma současné hydrologie. Mezi další typické změny patří navýšení hodnot 1-2 roky před uvedením čistírny do provozu a opožděná nitrifikace v toku způsobená nevhodným provozem čistírny. Mezi nejdůležitější faktory ovlivňující změny patří provoz čistírny, velikost průtoku recipientu, zemědělské...
Sewage waters in recreational areas in the Czech Republic
Míšková, Markéta ; Rödlová, Sylva (advisor) ; Kožíšek, František (referee)
This thesis deals with the topic of wastewater disposal in rest areas which are not connected to public sewerage, using a questionnaire in effort to find out the real situation of waste water, where property owners and appropriate authorities were asked. These answers could then be compared and the problem could be universally described. Questions were targeted at ways of wastewater management, system of export control, draining of the wastewater into the surroundings and influence of the quality of the drinking water in wells. This thesis aims to problem of wastewater disposal in recreational areas in the Czech Republic, that are not connected to public sewerage. Information were collected through questionnairies given to property owners and municipal authorities. Answers were compared and the situation was described. Questions were mainly targeted to wastewater management, control system, wastewater drainage to surroundings and effect of this system to drinking water quality in wells.
Water quality change in small watersheds after sewage water treatment plant building
Rödlová, Sylva
A water quality change in the small streams caused by the sewage water treatment plant (SWTP) is a quite undescribed situation. This study is focused on the water quality change and its influencing factors. Five small, mostly agricultural watersheds with average area of 6 km2 (one of the watersheds 16 km2) were chosen. There was one village on every first-order stream area with 640 - 2 500 inhabitants. During 7-16 years of monitoring these indicators were monthly measured: dissolved oxygen, BOD5, COD, TOC, conductivity, N-NH4, N-NO2, N-NO3, PT, P-PO4. During the monitoring SWTPs have been built in the experimental watersheds. Some of water quality changes were identified with SWTP effectiveness data. The described changes could outline the future water quality trends and they could also indicate a possible need of further improving steps. The quick and obvious pollution reduction was observed. Among other noticed change belongs: slower and small reduction, stagnation and even the increase of some indicators. The other typical effect is a short increase before building SWTP as well as a delayed nitrification in stream caused by the incorrect SWTP operation. The most relevant factors which influences these recognized changes are: SWTP operation, recipient stream flow rate, agricultural land use, sewage water...
