Martinčíková, Lucie ; Valentová, Hana (advisor) ; Presslerová, Pavla (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on the experiences of first-time mothers in the process of becoming a mother, and their changes in experiencing motherhood before and after childbirth. The theoretical part contains six main chapters that address the main issues of motherhood from the perspective of existing research studies and academic literature. The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe first-time mothers: experience of motherhood and experiencing the process of becoming a mother. A qualitative design was chosen for the research purposes. The data collection method consisted of conducting semi-structured interviews. Six pregnant women - first-time mothers - were selected for the research population and two interviews were conducted with them, one of which took place before the childbirth and the other after the childbirth. Data analysis was performed based on interpretive phenomenological analysis of the text. The result of the thesis is a comprehensive description of topics related to motherhood. The research results show that the process of becoming a mother is undoubtedly a unique and non-transferable experience. The research expands the awareness of the factors that influence the experience of motherhood and maps the key areas of possible changes during the period of motherhood. Significant...

Koutná, Tereza ; Kučerová, Olga (advisor) ; Presslerová, Pavla (referee)
The thesis deals with the aspects of cooperation between school psychologists and the Authority for Social and Legal Protection of Children (OSPOD). The theoretical part of the thesis describes the work content of both school psychologists and OSPOD workers and defines their mutual cooperation, including the legislative framework. At the same time, the theoretical part includes information on the common target group of both institutions, the child at risk. The empirical part of the thesis focuses on qualitative research. The research tool is a semi- structured interview. The informants were school psychologists (seven in total) and OSPOD staff (three in total). The main aim of the thesis is to explore the way in which the cooperation between school psychologists and OSPOD is conducted and to identify the critical points of contact between the two institutions. The research shows that there are several key factors which influence the frequency and level of satisfaction with the cooperation. One of these factors is the mutual trust between the institutions, and establishing this trust can be enhanced by personal communication between the representatives of the institutions, for example, through informal or formal meetings where competences and roles in the cooperation process are mutually defined, or...
Anorexia nervosa - recovery
Chudačíková, Dominika ; Presslerová, Pavla (referee)
The rigorous thesis deals with anorexia nervosa as one of the basic forms of eating disorders, with emphasis on the very common chronic progression of this serious psychiatric illness. This thesis is based on the scientific fact, that conspicuous eating habits, constant control of thinking and behavior, as well as self-perception disorders, are observed in most cases, even in already cured patients. Risk factors such a long-term stress or prone personality, can result in the acute phase of anorexia nervosa. The rigorous thesis is qualitatively focused. The chosen methods of data collection are a questionnaire survey and a following semi-structured interview. The condition for participation in the research is the past experience with anorexia nervosa, without the current presence of the acute phase of this disease. The main goal of the rigorous thesis is to take a look, through specific stories of interviewed respondents, on individual ways of the recovery from the acute phase of anorexia nervosa, to map their current feelings, needs and burning issues. Based on the survey results, the outcome of the rigorous thesis are the specific recommendations for individuals who are prone to the emergence of recurrence of anorexia nervosa. These recommendations should lower the risk of relapse of the acute...

Prokopová, Johana ; Presslerová, Pavla (advisor) ; Voldřich, Michal (referee)
The diploma thesis focuses on the contexts of aggression occuring in the lives of youth attending the youth clubs. This group of adolescents is considered to be at the risk of high-risk behaviour. The theoretical part describes the principles of youth clubs (NZDM) and the specifics of their target group and previous research. In the theoretical part selected developmental changes taking place in adolescence are described and last but not least this part focuses on aggression - theories of its origin, forms and functions. The empirical part of the thesis describes a research conducted in 8 youth clubs (NZDM). The first part of the research dealt primarily with the question of the level of aggression among youth attending youth clubs and the data collection was carried out through use of The Buss and Perry Aggression Questionnaire (BPAQ-SF). The second part of the research consisted of conducting semi- structured interviews also with youth attending these facilities. The thesis then describes findings that emerged from both parts of the research. In particular, the higher average scores of target group in the administered questionnaires are discussed, and thus the assumed higher tendency to behave hostile towards their surroundings. The findings are seen in the context of high rate of aggression taking place...
The Influence of the Partnership on the Father's role
Chomiszaková, Alexandra ; Presslerová, Pavla (advisor) ; Valentová, Hana (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to study and better understand the experience of fathers in how their partner helps shape their role as a father. The theoretical part describes changes in the concept of fatherhood that we observe in society, as well as ways of conceptualising fatherhood and the influence of the female partner. The constructs of co-parenting and gatekeeping are explained in connection with the influence of the female partner and parenthood as other potential approaches to grasping and understanding the phenomenon of fatherhood. The empirical part presents the results of qualitative research, which was carried out with the use of interpretive phenomenological analysis and semi-structured interviews. The topics that emerge from the analysis are the answers to the research question. The topic of partnership, especially its quality and mutual closeness, appears to be essential. This is further reflected in the fathers' self-evaluation as well as the level of the fatherhood experience. Another important area is the division of roles and competencies, which is influenced by whether the female partner has a traditional or liberal approach to parenting. Communication, which is a reflection but also a product of a partnership, is also an essential factor. The partner's influence is also evident in...

Štromajerová, Kristýna ; Presslerová, Pavla (advisor) ; Vídršperková, Lenka (referee)
This paper focuses on adolescent girls who are clients of a diagnostic institution and have been transferred to a specialized ward with more addictive support due to substance abuse. In this ward, they then attend school facilities that are not part of the institution and, according to the documentation of said ward, they are not successful in their studies and in most cases drop out of high school or apprenticeship. Therefore, the aim of this study was to find out what are the reasons and obstacles that prevent them from successfully completing their studies. The data collection was based on semi-structured interviews with the clients, the teaching staff of the diagnostic institute, the teaching staff of the schools where the clients attend and the parents of the clients. Another method used in this thesis was a detailed analysis of the documentation of the relevant department where the clients are placed. On the basis of the analysis of the interviews by means of selective coding, 41 categories were determined and these were subsequently narrowed down to 6 coherent themes that can be considered as direct causes of the school failure of the mentioned clients: self-assessment, finances, choice of field of study, problems at primary school, method of education, lack of information of class teachers....
