Thermal degradation of the wood with the application of fire retardants
Woffová, Helena ; Poláčik, Ján (referee) ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (advisor)
This bachelor‘s thesis is applied on the area of wood burning and how retarders affect the process. The theoretical part is composed of research of chemical composition of wood and its processes that exist during wood burning. Also, impacts of these retarders on these processes have been analyzed as well as methods of the research. The experimental part contains applied termogravimetric analysis of chosen retardant and its evaluation.
Proposal the heating system of the house
Zouhar, Adam ; Poláčik, Ján (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is dealing with proposals for the heating of the model house and about assessment of investments to these solutions. First, research of heating systems has been done, then the model house has been described. After that heat loss of this building and the energy needs for heating and preparing hot water have been calculated. At the end, some solutions of the heating system have been proposed. The financial comparison of these solutions has been done in the last chapter of the thesis.
"Power-to-Gas" Energy Storage Technology
Gálíček, Radomír ; Špiláček, Michal (referee) ; Poláčik, Ján (advisor)
Climate change is becoming a severe global issue which demands innovative technical solutions. If, in the context of reduction of gaseous carbon emissions, the share of renewable energy resources continued to rise, the need for energy storage would emerge. That could mean a shift towards hydrogen focused technologies. This bachelor’s thesis focuses on Power to gas processes and summarizes means of hydrogen production, storage and transportation. All the mentioned aspects are reviewed from technological and economical point of view. Conventional methods of hydrogen production from fossil fuels are the most common, but usage of electrolysis or biological methods may prove as competitive options in near future. Furthermore, the usage of fuel cells in the field of small-scale cogeneration units is recently going through a phase of dynamic development. The practical part of this thesis focuses on designing a seasonal Power to gas unit for a semi-detached house which is powered exclusively by renewable resources. From numerous variants the best one was chosen and compared to a conventional energy storage using lithium batteries. It is shown that even thou the electrochemical cells are more flexible variant they couldn’t match Power to gas technology in the term of seasonal energy storage.
Energy supply for greenhouse production
Najbrtová, Zuzana ; Poláčik, Ján (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The import of the vegetable has prevailed in the long run over the own production. In connection with this reality and increasing demand for the food with higher quality the production greenhouse is more often built. The providing heat, cold and electricity for the year-round operation is related to the construction and working of these objects. The theoretical part of this theses describes possible ways how to cover energy consumption for the model greenhouse in Kožichovice, Třebíč region. The heat losses and the year-round heat consumption were stated for the selected model and compared with the exact values from Kožichovice. The following method of energy supply was selected based on the calculated energy consumption - the separate cogeneration unit, cooperation of several cogeneration units, a biogas station, a heat pump and central heating system. These methods of energy supply were subjected to technical and economical comparison.
Heat loss of buildings and proposals for measures to eliminate them
Nguyen Khac, Hoang ; Poláčik, Ján (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with calculations of heat loss in buildings and proposals of meas-urements. Thesis is divided into 5 chapters. In the first one there are reasons to insulate buildings, the process of material selection and furthermore there are descriptions of each materials used as insulation materials. In the second chapter there is the description of the model house, which is analysed in the thesis. The third one is about the calculation proce-dure. In the fourth chapter there is the proposal of reconstruction and in the last, fifth chapter there is an evaluation of reconstruction from financial standpoint.
Fine particles and air-cleaning
Bírošíková, Martina ; Sitek, Tomáš (referee) ; Poláčik, Ján (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with issues with fine and ultrafine particles, also called particulate matter, which is strongly associated with enviromental problems and negative effect on human health, especially cardiovascular diseases. The aim of this work is to describe the formation and characteristics of fine particles produced by biomass combustion. The experimental part firstly explains funcional principle of used devices and then compares measured concentrations of ultra fine particles produced by combustion of spruce and beech wood. In the end, several posibilites how to eliminate the air pollutants are presented.
Gas Supply and Underground Gas Storages in Slovakia
Galbavý, Mário ; Poláčik, Ján (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe the situation regarding the storage and supply of natural gas in Slovakia. Thesis is divided into 4 chapters. The first chapter deals with natural gas from a general point of view, from its properties to its possible use. The second part describes the situation of supplying Slovakia with natural gas. The third part deals with the ways of storing natural gas and individual underground reservoirs located in Slovakia. The final part describes the reasons for the storage of natural gas and the possibility of measures that can ensure the security of its supply.
House energy solutions using renewable energy sources
Sabo, Martin ; Musilová, Petra (referee) ; Poláčik, Ján (advisor)
This bachelor thesis discusses the role of renewable sources of energy in energetics of a family house and technologies providing this possibility. Special care is given to power production, heating and air conditioning. The issue of low-energy and passive houses is described in the beginning of the thesis, leading to acknowledgement with different types of energy sources. Analytic part of the thesis contains general information about ways of heating and power production using renewable sources of energy. Different ways of ventilation are introduced and suitability of specific technologies assessed. The practical part describes design of ventilation and heating unit in an experimental house.
Emissions from the burning of garden waste
Kuznetsova, Oksana ; Poláčik, Ján (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of production of gaseous and solid pollutants in the incineration of garden waste. The aim was to carry out and evaluate the experiment. During the evaluation, it was found that the incineration of garden waste produces many times more emissions, than the incineration of wood in the boiler. The reason for the high emission concentrations was the fuel composition and the combustion process. Furthermore, fine particles in the range 17.5–532.8 nm were investigated. In the theoretical part, a literary search was created, which was based on Czech and foreign professional literature.
Hydrogen technology as a clean energy solution
Pavliska, Vojtěch ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Poláčik, Ján (advisor)
Gradual transition towards renewable sources of energy should be one of the main concerns of today’s society. This does not only concern the production of electricity but also automotive industry. Transportation is the main cause of air pollution in bigger cities and is also responsible for a solid percentage of green-house gases production. For these reasons, it is key to seek more sustainable and eco-friendly ways of motorized vehicles propulsion. Artificially produced hydrogen is one of the more promising alternatives to fossil fuels. This thesis describes the application of fuel cell technology for city busses. It presents some existing examples of hydrogen busses and their comparison with common means of mass transportation.
