City of Pardubice on the maps - development and perspectives

The primary objective of this bachelor´s thesis is to analyze the development of Pardubice on topographic maps, cadastral maps and plans. The work deals with the presentation of the historical city maps since the 16th century, through military maps to the current maps. Part of the bachelor ´s thesis is devoted to vedutas and assess the accuracy of the plot of the city selected cartographic works.

The opening part of my work deals with the history of the Battle of the Three Emperors. Describes the major historical events that led to the battle, procedure of the Battle of Austerlitz and its consequences ,resulting from the french victory. The main part is devoted to mapping funds of troops of the Three Emperors. Examines them in terms of history, comparing topographic and geographic data and procedure of battle management.

City of Kroměříž on the maps - development and perspectives

The thesis deals with the projection of the town of Kroměříž on maps with topographical and cadastral contents. The work dedicates placing on the oldest maps of Moravia and on the more recent and contemporary topographical and cadastral maps concerning both the national map work and the commercial maps from various resources including the private ones. It is also concentrated on the town plans and veduts. A special chapter is dedicated to perspectives of the town in form of the municipal plan.

Cartometric analysis on historical maps

This thesis examines the accuracy of the plotting of sites on historical maps from 1573 to 1790. The aim of this thesis is to examine the accuracy of the plot of selected historical maps from the Znojmo district against chosen identical points. The measurement results are shown in tables. The discrepancies detected are graphically presented in the corresponding map segments.

Monumental places of the Moravien geodesy and cartography

The thesis deals with description of location related to the personalities that were important for geodesy and cartography and worked in Moravia or Silesia. Apart from personalities, it also pursues with important trigonometric and leveling points, archives and towns with other interesting movable and immovable monuments related to geodesy and cartography. There are also schools where people can study geodesy and cartography now. One chapter is devoted to the Moravian cartographic center in Velké Opatovice.

Objective of this thesis is to create a simple and efficient structural guidepost of important cartographic and geodetic departments at universities in the Czech Republic and in the European Union. The work also deals with the evaluation of graphics, content and technical quality of presentation of departments in the Czech and Slovak republic on the Internet and a brief summary of the history and future of the Internet and the WWW in the world as well. At the end, there is a suggest of solution to implementation guidepost to the website of the Institute of Geodesy Faculty of Civil Engineering BRNO University of Technology.
