Poetry in the Service of Ideology
Hofmanová, Petra ; Peterka, Josef (advisor) ; Mocná, Dagmar (referee)
English Resume This thesis is based on thorough examination of collection of poems written by Ivan Skála "Co si beru na cestu" (What I take for a journey) in 1975. The collection got National award of Klement Gottwald and therefore it's possible to consider it to be one of the canonical pieces of socialistic literature. The thesis demonstrates the fact, that the collection is not representation of pure political lyrics. The collection is a combination of intimate and natural lyrics, also its propagandistic function is apparent because of its author's political involvement and orientation. The thesis discovers the ways of realization of propagandistic function and its most common methods. Motives of socialistic propaganda are more or less hidden in the whole collection, however they are present both in poems of purely political nature and natural and reflexive lyrics. Through an analysis of text levels (formal, thematic, language) I tried to characterize the ideological schemes contained in whole collection. One of the interesting conclusions is the fact, that the collection is characterized by the intimate manifestation of its author, who reflects his own original values. His lyrical hero is an ideal citizen characterized by passion for hard work a love for his country. He's disposed of any eroticism and...
Space of Zakarpattia in the Czech literature
Krabsová, Veronika ; Peterka, Josef (advisor) ; Mocná, Dagmar (referee)
This thesis deals with the phenomenon of Carpathian Ruthenia, or Zakarpattia, which is one of the most discussed issues in Czech literature. It expands the traditional view of the issue with a chronological survey of works by Czech authors who were inspired by Carpathian Ruthenia, and maps their writings created from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 21st century. It focuses on their interpretation, with particular reference to the topology. The first chapter presents the terminological problems associated with the territory of the Transcarpathian region and briefly summarizes its history. The next chapter submits an account of the exceptional nature of this area (its contrasts, periphery, regionalism, myths, exoticism, idylls and adventures), and attempts to characterize its uniqueness (backwardness, belief in superstitions, Jews, alcoholism, poachers, enchanting countryside and outlaws). Carpathian Ruthenia appears to be a place of secrecy, where hypothetical characters grow. The topology of the mountain is also an important element. The following chapter, the longest, presents most of the works by the Czech authors who were inspired by this region. The first of these authors came to Carpathian Ruthenia during the 1920s as government workers or tourists. Their works are arranged...

Bromová, Žofie ; Peterka, Josef (advisor) ; Mocná, Dagmar (referee)
The theoretical introduction characterizes difference between film art and literature. It tries to define its specifics which movie makers have to deal with. The last chapter is devoted to outline problematic of poetry adaptation. The practical part of the thesis is based on confrontational analysis, for which I choose two contrast and well made film adaptations. The thesis compares original poetry: F. Hrubín's Romance pro křídlovku and K. J. Erben's Kytice with movie adaptation of O Vávra's and F. A. Brabec respectively. Firstly I tried to grasp basic and the most important characteristics of both originals. The second goal was to highlight parts of original poetry which were most and least suitable for movie adaptation. Objective of the conclusion was to compare movie adaptation of Kytice and Romance pro křídlovku, to show different relation between original pieces and their movie adaptation and to find differences in approach of Vávra and Brabec. Finally I tried to evaluate adequacy of solutions their chose.
Poetics of Tomáš Klus Lyrics
Prchalová, Tereza ; Hník, Ondřej (advisor) ; Peterka, Josef (referee)
Resume There are two Klus's professions, acting and music, intertwined in the album Racek by the means of the songs inspired by Chekhov's play of the same name. By that connection, there aroused highly respected songs in the Czech music scene. Together with other pieces, they create a lexicon of Klus's peculiar and nowadays highly popular poetics, which is formed especially by frequent metaphors, set phrases, defamiliarization, intertextuality, author's words and expressive, derogatory, bookish, antiquated, diminutive, regional and borrowed expressions. Though his songs consist of various automatized expressions, his lyrics as a unit appear to be original and sincere, and, at the same time, they are understandable for common audience, because he transfers colloquial speech and generally known expressions into them.

Personal Literary Creation
Zmíním pouze to, že první básnické pokusy vznikaly přibližně kolem šestnáctého roku života, přičemž můj styl v následujících letech doznal řady změn a prudkých obratů.
A Theory of Fictive Worlds and Interpretation
Chaloupka, Tomáš ; Jedličková, Alice (advisor) ; Peterka, Josef (referee)
Cílem této práce je "operacionalizací" pojmů teorie fikčních světů prověřit interpretační potenciál této teorie. Zjišťujeme, nakolik nám umožní popsat uspořádání fikčních světů konstruovaných fantastickými prózami Julia Cortázara a Gabriela Garcíi Márqueze. V dílech nejsilněji spjatých s poetikou magického realismu se přirozené a nadpřirozené prolínají v rámci jednoho nedělitelného světa a nadpřirozené neporušuje,...
