Development potencial of very small municipalities: on the example in Domažlice and Kralovice regions

Settlement system of the Czech Republic is typical by a big number of small municipalities. Those municipalities has the same status as bigger municipalities. However those small municipalities manage with limited resources for their development. Some authors discuss about possibility of their integration. The successful strategic plans

Strategic planning is a very suitable method to effectively manage long-term development of the area. A lot of strategic documents have been made in recent years. There are strategic plans of counties, micro-regions, towns, even larger villages, but unfortunately they are not realized. The aim of my work is not to find out why most of the strategic plans are unsuccessful, but why chosen towns (Dobříš and Vodňany) are such successful in realization of the plans. The information about the process of the strategic planning was acquired from the formal interviews with the processors of the strategic plans, with the mayor or deputy mayor of both towns. There is described the whole process of the strategic planning, from the initial idea to prepare strategic plan until the process of creating the plan, its evaluation, monitoring and updating. Text is supplemented with the ideas and insights of processors, mayors, deputy mayors and authors of a literature dealing with the topic. At the very end are summarized main reasons why strategic planning of these cities successful. Keywords: strategic plannig, city, community method of planning
The Position of the of Local Action Groups in the Czech Countryside

This thesis focuses on the topic of local action groups in the area of the Czech Republic. The aim of this thesis is to discover what is the conternporary status of the local action groups in the Czech rural area. The research is based on the evaluation of the local action groups done by their members and also on an analysis of activities of the local action groups. The research was done in three local action groups which were chosen to be supported in the program LEADER in the period 2007-2013. The thesis comes out of the assumption that the activities done by the local action groups can influence their position in the rural area. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the definition of term "country", approach to the rural development, method LEADER, program LEADER and the term of local action groups are introduced in this part. The practical part of the thesis is the research itself. The analysis of documents and questionnaire investigation by the members of LAG should confirm or deny the stated hypothesis.
Selected problems of the rural delimitation

This work is an attempt to define an alternative definition of rural as compared with the OECD methodology applied to the NUTS 3 units. In the specific nature of the Czech population is necessary to use other methods of defining rural. Bibliography outlines other possible ways of definic, as a empirical research reflects a descriptive approach to the definition of rural based on statistical indicators which are assessed in seven groups. The results are shown in the cartograms. Differences between rural and urban areas are in the Czech Republic according to the chosen methodology very small or not visible. Countryside as defined by statistical indicators have shown similar results as the definition of internal peripherals. The chosen method for the identification is very difficult and demanding. The results are largely influenced by the threshold value for each indicator. Keywords: delimination, country, rural, delimitation, rural areas
The relationship between strategic and spatial plan on the example of Lázně Bodaneč

This bachelor work is generally focused on spatial and strategic planning as well as their common bond. Using the literature review are shown and explained basic concepts, which can be in the field of spatial planning or strategic found. This paper also describes how they may be related to both documents and and conversely, where they differ. The research is based on verbal text analysis and comparison of the two documents. There are also links to these spatial and strategic plans of Lázně Bohdaneč near Pardubice. In a few specific cases, it is shown how both types of planning of cooperate. Finally, these links are confirmed.
The Development Potential of the Smallest Municipalities

The present thesis deals with the influence of human resources for the development potential of selected villages situated in the area of inner periphery of the Vysocina Region. Within the scope of polarized geographical space areas with varying degrees of stability and potential for development can be identified, where endogenous development opportunities can be considered as crucial factors- in particular the level of human resources. The present thesis monitors the quality of human and social capital on the example of three villages, using the combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods. The capitalization rate and utilization of human resources is evaluated mainly in terms of involvement of local partakers/participants, their levels of cooperation and participation of the population in public life. The aim is to find out how human resources in the surveyed municipalities affect their development in the future.
Repletion Municipal Plan as a Planning Tool - Documetation vs. Reality

Spatial planning is a science that draws from the natural, technical and social sciences, and also penetrates into the sphere of economic, social and environmental spheres. It also responds to changes in social conditions. The task of land use plans, as long document is to respond to past developments, contemporary trends and to support future development. Regional plans made in the 90 years later, in the environment of the new political regime had an important role to capture and promote regional development. Among the cities which have sourced a new political conditions, land use plan, and belonged to Plzen. The effectiveness of Pilsen development plan of 1995 was forecast over 15 years, until last year. In the case of efforts on the evaluation of the development plan, it is necessary to take into account the changing conditions in various companies. If we respect the impact of these changes, then evaluate the good or bad the plan is not possible. For this reason, in this work are treated to a sort of reflection on the repletion of the city plan of Pilsen.
The influence of sectoral composition of selected local action groups on their functioning

The goal of the thesis "The influence of sectoral composition of selected local action groups on their functioning" is to enhance previous bachelor thesis with a more detailed assessment of the sectoral composition impact on LAG overall functioning. Main feature of the LEADER program is cooperation, mainly between public, private and non-profit sector but also between other sectors in the area. Another goal of this thesis is an evaluation of this feature fulfillment. Theoretical part contains the explanation of basic terms and theoretical approaches related to rural development. Practical part consists of analysis of an SAIF internal data, internal data surveyed by LAGs, LAGs ex post evaluation, commonly available documents and interviews with leaders and members of LAGs. Three LAGs were selected as an area of interest, LAG Podlipansko, o.p.s, LAG - Partnership Moštěnka, o.s. and Region Pošembeří o.p.s.
