The problems of pastoral care after suicide of a close person

The thesis deals with the development of ethical approaches to suicide in the Christian environment and on the basis of real testimonies maps the problems of pastoral care for bereaved people after suicide of a close person. Using the method of short qualitative research the thesis finds out the approaches of some of the churches in the Czech Republic to the problematic of suicide and funerals of people who killed themselves. It points out the connection between Catholic and Protestant theological position in assessing the nature of suicidal behavior and warns about their insufficient communication towards the needs of spiritual aspect of the pastoral care for bereaved people. Based on the collected material it points to the specific problems in pastoral practice concerning bereaved people caused by suicidal behavior of close person and suggests their solutions.
