The Bachelor's thesis Possible use of educational activities in low threshold club Džagoda, Černý Most, Prague deals with conceptual questions of organising educational projects in low threshold clubs for children and youth. It looks at different aspects connected with education in institutions, which are a priori a social service. A description of a project called Dove organised in a low threshold club Džagoda in Prague 14, which I took part in, is a part of the thesis.
The specifics of working with children who have experienced physical abuse through the view of social workers

The aim of this Bachelor thesis was to find out how social workers work with children who had experienced a physical abuse and which strategies and methods they use during their work. Also, I wanted to discover all the involved subjects (organizations and other professionals) with whom the social workers cooperate in their job. Bachelor thesis is composed of the theoretical and the practical part. The beginning of my theoretical part is focused on issues regarding child physical abuse, historical aspects and also briefly the legislation of child rights protection. The other part concerns the risk factors of abusers and common features of families in which the abuse occurs. The last point of the theoretical part is to provide information about organisations and institutions in Prague which work with abused children and with other family members. The main sources were books, seminars, workshops and brochures I gained during my internship. The practical part is composed of two main subparts. Firstly, it is about the case studies of children who had experienced a physical abuse. The related materials were gained during my practice. Social services for families at risk in Litoměřice district

První část práce je věnována problematice ohrožených rodin. Snažím se popsat různé problémové situace, které mohou rodinu potkat. Popisuji služby, které mohou v České republice tyto rodiny využít. Uvádím též příklady služeb, které existují v zahraničí. Druhá část je zaměřena na zjištění nabídky služeb v okrese Litoměřice, zda tato nabídka pokrývá potřeby rodin žijících v tomto okrese. Využila jsem obsahové analýzy spisů OSPOD za rok 2006, dále pak formu dotazníku pro pracovníky OSPOD a rozhovoru s pracovníky OSPOD. I přesto, že nabídka služeb je poměrně bohatá, nepokrývá potřeby rodin, které jsou z různých důvodů v kontaktu s OSPOD. Většina služeb je zaměřena na volnočasovou aktivitu, většinou se ale jedná a služby placené, což se stává překážkou pro některé klienty. Problémem je také malá kapacita služeb, jedná se především o služby dětského psychologa a psychiatra, služby manželské a předmanželské poradny, nízkoprahového klubu a azylového domu pro matky s dětmi Některé služby zde chybí úplně. Jedná se především o mediační služby, intenzivní rodinnou terapii, terénní práci s rodinou a programy pro rodiče špatně zacházející s dětmi.
Educational Needs of Social Divisions' Workers on Municipalities in Former Česká Lípa District

The diploma thesis is focused on the matter of continuing education of social department workers in municipalities in former Česká Lípa district. Specifically, it looks at what the educational needs in this area, workers have. The theoretical part is focused on the terminology. Firstly, it devotes to the characteristic of the former Česká Lípa district from the perspective of social work performed by the workers of municipalities. It also discusses the continuing education of workers and training needs analysis. This part also describes the burnout syndrome that is related to a supervision which is also a part of this thesis. The practical part is focused on the social workers' needs of continuing education. The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out which of the skills and knowledge for workers are the most needed. In the research, there was used the methodology of quantitative analysis via halfstructured questionnaires and the following structured interviews in order to gain the necessary qualitative data. The partial goals are to find out if the willingness of workers to participate on continuing education has impact on the burnout syndrome, or how burnout syndrome is related to participation in the supervision.
The Role of Non-Profit Institution Social Worker in Attending of Foster Families

This bachelor thesis titled "The role of non-profit institution social worker in attending of foster families" describes social worker operating procedure in attending of foster families. My writing is divided into five chapters. In the first chapter I presented basic terms which concern described theme: social work, social worker, non-profit institution worker (so called empowered person), foster parent, non-profit institution etc. Next chapter deals with the matter from the legislative point of view of both Czech and a foreign legal code. Particular ways of the foster care are described in the following chapter. The core and goal of this bachelor thesis is described in the fourth chapter "Cooperation an empowered person and a foster parent" and also in the fifth chapter "Selected methods and activities of a non-profit institution worker in attending of foster families". Besides description of particular methods and activities of a non-profit institution social worker in attending of foster families, the final chapter describes a foster care performing agreement which lays the foundations for a non-profit institution social worker. Application of job analysing in social work with a specific attention given to the head officer of OSPOD

The bachelor thesis "Application of job analysing in social work with a specific attention given to the head officer of OSPOD" deals with the execution of social-legal protection of children in the Czech Republic. It focuses at the characteristics of the work of head officer managing social workers visiting the families. The main investigated domain is the activity of OSPOD during the process of departure of the child from the family and during their return back, meaning the proposals referring to precaution, institutional upbringing and its cancellation. Further on the thesis includes activities of the superior institutions following the aspect of the head officer's work. Next comes the theoretical part devoted to the job analysis. The elaboration of the pilot version of the job analysis of the OSPOD head officer looks at the topic of the thesis from the practical perspective. It brings the unique complex view at the profession of social worker and leads to the provision of concrete ways how job analysis could be used in the field of social work.
Social services for family with children in South Moravia region

I focused my work on analysis of social services for family with children in one region in Czech Republic - South Moravia, with emphasis on services for threatened family or depressed family. My work is based on and has foot-hold on social service law. The objective of my work was overall review of present circumstances in providing social services for family with children in the respective region. Intent of my diploma work is giving to readers a basic overview about theoretical resort or let say a fall-back concerning a social services issues with family with children, especially with political and legal resorts and processes of social services deployment planning, and analyze current offerings of social services for family with children in South Moravia region. The essential parts of my analyses are demographic analyses based on official reports issued by Czech statistical office and analyses of Medium-term deployment plan of social services i South Moravia region in view family with children. The thesis deals with alternative diets such as vegetarianism and veganism. It aims to highlight the advantages of these lifestyles in term of their importance to the sustainable development. The thesis explains the global definition of social work. It focuses on social work and it's potential to interfere to the protection of the environment. It deals with the relationship between social work and sustainable development and its environmental importance. It describes the concept of the ecological footprint as an indicator of the impact of individual's activities on the environment. It critically evaluates the environmental impacts of conventional farming. The Role of the Social-Legal Child Protection Authority in Kinship Foster Care

Bachelor thesis with the title "The role of the social-legal child protection authority in kinship foster care" aims to determine what is the role (or how cooperates) of the social-legal child protection authority (OSPOD) during the work with foster parents and what are its possible competence in this issue. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first one defines the basic concepts of this issue, e. g. the social work and the social worker, child, foster parent, foster care and social-legal child protection. The second chapter deals with legislation, which is closely related to foster care in the Czech Republic. I also mention other laws, which are related to this issue. The core of my thesis is mainly in the third and the fourth chapter, where I try to explain what the role of social worker of the social-legal child protection authority in foster care is about. In the third chapter I introduce various forms of foster care, with particular focus on one of them - kinship foster care, including its specifications. The fourth chapter is focused on assistant role of the social-legal child protection authority and its cooperation with foster parents in foster care. The Contact with the Biological Family from the Perspective of the People Who Grew Up in the State-mediated Long-term Foster Care

This bachelor thesis titled The Contact with the Biological Family from the Perspective of the People Who Grew Up in the State-mediated Long-term Foster Care aims to describe the topic of the contact between the children in the state-mediated long-term foster care and their biological families, and also to present a point of view of the people who grew up in the described foster care form via a qualitative research. The thesis is divided into two parts - a theoretical and an empirical one. The theoretical part contains four chapters dealing with the children's psychological needs, family functionality, the Czech Republic's foster care tradition as well as the current conditions, and finally, the contact between the children growing up in the long-term foster care and their biological families. The empirical part contains an analysis of the interviews taken with 8 respondents who grew up in the state-mediated long- term foster care.
