Respit service for foster carers

The broad aim of this thesis is to consider the issues of foster care, specifically a foster parents' need for holidays. The aim is to discuss why legislation regarding holidays for foster parents was needed and to see what options are available for foster parents in the Pardubice region. The work first describes the above considerations, then the practical element, offering a view of the three parties working in this field. Research was conducted to examine foster parent's views on the ways in which both government and non-governmental organizations work. Based on the research conducted it is possible to understand the views of foster parents and their legal right to holiday and to look at the work of social-legal protection of children in this area and find out what respite services and education are offered by NGOs in the Pardubice region. Educational Needs of Social Divisions' Workers on Municipalities in Former Česká Lípa District

The diploma thesis is focused on the matter of continuing education of social department workers in municipalities in former Česká Lípa district. Specifically, it looks at what the educational needs in this area, workers have. The theoretical part is focused on the terminology. Firstly, it devotes to the characteristic of the former Česká Lípa district from the perspective of social work performed by the workers of municipalities. It also discusses the continuing education of workers and training needs analysis. This part also describes the burnout syndrome that is related to a supervision which is also a part of this thesis. The practical part is focused on the social workers' needs of continuing education. The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out which of the skills and knowledge for workers are the most needed. In the research, there was used the methodology of quantitative analysis via halfstructured questionnaires and the following structured interviews in order to gain the necessary qualitative data. The partial goals are to find out if the willingness of workers to participate on continuing education has impact on the burnout syndrome, or how burnout syndrome is related to participation in the supervision.

The diploma thesis "Adolescent in Foster Care" deals with an adolescent growing up in foster care, with regard to the development of one's identity. The theoretical part includes preview on adolescent, foster care, identity and also the issues of deprivation. Elementary school children at risk of social exclusion and a plan to help them

The objective of this thesis is to address issues of elementary school children who are at risk of social exclusion. At the same time it focuses on different means of searching methods as well as the ways of the individual help. The main themes are generally defined in this paper. The concept of the risk of a social exclusion is newly described for this target group together with other social, mental and pedagogical consequences. The practical part analyzes the selection of methods and describes the ways to search for the endangered children. Essentially, I have developed the case studies with an individual approach to help particular children. In conclusion, the thesis identifies the necessity of social aid in the Czech education system and the factual obstacles. The Culture of OSPOD Departments and the Conditions for Coping with Workload

The bachelor's thesis " The Culture of the Child Protection Unit and the Conditions for Coping with Workload" deals with working conditions at child protection unit, describes specific characteristics of the work. The thesis determines a role of head of the department focusing its essential influence on local working environment. Using the management theory the thesis specifies fundamental tactics to create stimulating surroundings with enough support and assistance in coping with overburden - often coupled with these departments. The research summarizes examples from common situations at child protection unit into concrete statements that reflect ways of executives to build good working environment for the workers - building strong relationships, considering periodic supervisions and atmosphere of trust, encouragement and respect.
Roles and Competences of a Social Worker in Marriage Counselling

The thesis focuses on the activities of a social worker in a specific position - marital and family counselling. The aim of the thesis is a draft of an educational programme with respect to the needs of the target group and the most common working activities of a social worker. The thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical section. The theoretical section describes the history of the field, defines the target group and the theoretical framework of the field. The practical section presents methods and the outcome of a survey, as well as a draft of specialized education of social workers in marital and family counselling. The influence of supervision and job evaluation on motivation of social services workers

The thesis concentrates on influence of work evaluation and supervision on motivation of workers of low threshold clubs for children and youth. Supervision and work evaluation is perceived as an obligation for providers of social services defined in quality standards of social services. The thesis concetrates on effects of supervision and work evaluation on the motivation of workers. The opening of the thesis describes roles in the process of motivation (roles of workers and the roles of their supervisors and senior executives), along with two fundamental theories of motivation (developed by Maslow and Herzberg). In the same chapter, the risks connected with work motivation (helpers' syndrome and burn-out syndrome) within helping professions are tackled. The thesis further introduces measures, which influence motivation of workers, employees of social services, namely financial recognition and education. Attention is also paid to non-financial means of motivating employees. Two selected measures of non-financial motivation, supervision and work evaluation, are described in greater detail, specifically in terms of their foundation, function, form, procedures, purpose and impact. Development of Foster Care in the Litoměřice Region within the Years 2000-2010

This thesis focuses on aspects that affect the process of adopting a child in foster care. The work is divided into two parts. In the first part, we present theroretical issues examined. We define here the basic concepts, we are concerned with factors affecting foster care, describing the process of formation and progress of foster care. The aim of the practical part of the work is to use qualitative research to analyze the process of adopting a child in foster care from the perspective of foster parents experience in the region Litoměřice. The evaluation of family situation of children located in children's home

This thesis deals with the evaluation of family situation of children placed in children's home. The theoretical part is focused on the current family and its functioning in our cultural background, children's home as an institution, social-legal protection of children and evaluation of the situation of endangered child and its family. The practical part firstly includes opinion of social workers of the Office for Social- legal Protection of Children which affects the process of evaluation of family, number of children placed in institutions and media image of social workers in the Czech Republic. Secondly, it concentrates on the methods of evaluation of children placed in children's home in the form of pedagogical documentation and educational plan of children. At last a brief description of the work of social workers of the Office for Social-legal Protection of Children cooperating with the children already placed in a children's home is included. Comparison of principles and forms of therapeutic communities for people dependent on addictive substances in the Czech Republic (with special focus on spiritual aspects in treatment)

This bachelor thesis deals with types of therapeutic communities for drug addicts in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to map these communities and determine whether or not the treatment provided by them also includes spiritual aspects. Furthermore, if they do, what form they are presented in and what kinds of benefits it Brings for the treatment itself. The paper is divided into two sections - theoretical and empirical. The theoretical section explains terms that are important to get well acquainted with as they are closely related to the topic, such as drug addiction, treatment, communities in general, therapeutic communities and the different therapeutical methods the communities in the Czech Republic make use of. Following is the empirical section that further details goals of the research, the specimen and the research methods. Finally, an important part of this section is also dedicated to the research findings themselves.
