Possibilities of the assesment concluded from laboratory biological experiments to test the effectiveness of antimicrobial mouth washes

The diploma thesis concerns the possibilities of using the assesment of effectiveness of anti-microbe mouth washes. Two experiments were designed to be performed by students from grammar schools, high schools and medical polytechnics. The experiments should lead the students to the conclusion of the possibilities of cultivation of micro-organisms within the mouth and the realisation if the importance of correct oral hygiene. The laboratory experiments were successfully verified to be incorporated into the syllabus of grammar schools, high schools and medical polytechnics for dental hygienists.
Doping - the knowledge and attitudes of university students

Sport is an important part of today's society. It is leisure time's activity, entertainment, and prevention of health problems. Nowadays, the importance of sport is oriented mainly on performance and success. Under these conditions, doping substances may in some cases mean way to success. Knowledge of doping substances among athletes is very important in order to prevent positive doping and all its consequences. It is therefore important to consistently inform both adults and young athletes about this issue, and emphasise the prevention of this problem at the same time. The main goal is to map the current knowledge, attitudes and foreknowledge of students of physical education courses about doping problems. The data obtained was compared with previous reviews.
Natural dyes and its didactic usage for education and leisure time activities

The purpose of this study was to remember and recreate natural dyeing technique, which is almost forgotten these times. It is possible to find remains of this technique with pre-industrial nations or as a part of dyeing handicraft. By inventing artificial dyes, natural dyeing was blenched and it becomes just an activity of special interested groups. Theoretical part of thesis is dealing with history of dyeing, preparing all the materials used for dyeing and to be dyed and finally charts involving dyes, extracted from vegetables, ordered by gained colours. Main purpose of the study is to verify colour spectrum by using known technologies, than to prove effect of chemicals and finally finding didactic utilisation as a form of experiments. The last chapter contains several educational projects which were developed entirely for this theses. These projects were designed to be used since seventh-grades and they are particularly devoted to plants which are used for natural dyeing. All the methods and accomplishments are presented not only by text form, but by photographs as well.
BMI values in students of lower secondary schools

More and more children are fascinated with idea of perfect slender figure today that brings them over a boundary of health troubles. The causes of this phenomenon are mainly seen in social and psychical factors, but biological causes, which have at least as same or stronger influence on subconscious perception of weight, are usually ignored. The important part of satisfied personality is not only weight but height of individuum as well. The ratio between these two parameters is determined by the Body Mass index (BMI) and in this thesis I will focused on why the values of BMI are essentially significant for adolescent. This submitted diploma thesis deals with values of BMI and factors that influence pupils in the age of 10 - 16 years. Identified values results from measurements of 681 pupils on 8 Prague's primary schools. The results of weight and height measuring were compared with findings of national anthropological research of the year 2001, let us say 1991. From the measurement that was made is clear that there was no increase of average body weight of boys in every categories under examination and as well no decrease of average body weight of girls in every categories under examination in comparison with CAV 2001.
Work with Natural Objects in Botany Lessons at Grammar Schools

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na práci s přírodninami v hodinách botaniky na gymnáziu. Teoretická část je věnována roli přírodnin vRVP, konkrétně klíčovým kompetencím, které je možné systematickou prací s přírodninami rozvíjet. Podstatná část se soustřeďuje na přírodniny jako na hlavní didaktický prostředek ve vyučovacím procesu z pohledu hlavních didaktických zásad. Dále je pozornost věnována organizačním formám, které slouží jako podpora práce s přírodninami. V souvislosti s přírodninami a zejména jejich sběrem jsme nezapomněli zmínit záležitosti týkající se ochrany přírody.
Quality of environment air in Prachatice during the time period from 1997 to 2007, application of the environment air problems in education

This dissertation work deals with the issue of environment air from several different points of view. The progression of accuracy of some pollute substances in the environment air in the city Prachatice during the time period from 1997 to 2007 was analyzed, using data obtained from The Czech Hydro-Meteorological Institute from Program Teplice, from the Czech republic's environment's statistical year-books as well as from other specialized professional resources. Marginally this work deals with some pollutants and their influences on the human health. The concentration of pollute matters is rather stagnant with tendency of mild increase. There was accomplished a sociological investigation in March 2009 using standardized interviews, which was focused on an opinion of inhabitants in the city Prachatice considering the air environment in Prachatice during the last 10 years period. Interviewed don't feel negative influences of the air environment in Prachatice on their health and they consider the air environment in Prachatice during the last 10 years getting generally better. The highest number of pollutes according to the respondents had occurred in Prachatice during the winter moths. Knowledge of food intake disorders in secondary school students The diploma work is intended on eating disorders which are two basic and in this time the most signifícant illness - the mental anorexia and mental bulimia. In the teoretical part is definined conception of eating disorders, the folowing history of those illness, causes of origin, definition and characterization of mental anorexia and mental bulimia and attack of overeating, their basic diagnostic criteria, results, way of cure and prevention. In the research part is of the pupil of the high school with help of questionnaire Metod investigated level knowledge of the problems, satifaction with own figuře and look, the opinions on the own weight, reason and appropriate measure for getting the bodily weight down, limit of influence publicity of beauty and slimness.
Hygienic habits of secondary school students

Name of the diploma work: Hygienic habits of Elementary school pupils and Grammar school students. Presented diploma work is dealing with the personal hygiene of pupils and students in the age of 11 to 19. Goal of this work is to find out and compare hygienic habits of pupils and students in the age of 11 to 19. Research has been carried out by the questionnaire. The research pattern consisted of pupils and students in Czech republic in the age of 11 to 19. Overall number of questioned people was 405. The questionnaire was divided into 5 sections. In the first section were identification data such as gender, age, school. In the next sections were questions related to the washing of hands, mouth hygiene, personal hygiene. In the last section were questions related to finger licking, drinking, food and driveling. Results were plotted into the tables and graphs, and were used to confirm previously proposed hypotheses.
Use of slideshow presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint as support of class work activity in biology lessons at lower secondary schools

The topic of this graduation thesis is use of slideshow presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint (further only MPP) as support of class work activity teaching in Biology lessons in surrounding of second grade at elementary school. The thesis is formed by three parts. The first theoretical part deals with history and characteristic of class work activity learning, class work activity learnings role in schools documents, teaching methods supporting class work activity learning in Biology lessons and with organizational forms while using presentations in MMP, yet fundamentals in Biology lessons, that teachers would abide while creating their presentations. Next a part of the theoretical part is presentations in MPP alone and basic steps how to create them. The purpose of the experimental part is to create data for the third practical part on the basis of questionnaire examinations. The experimental examination deals with Biology teachers in the environment of Prague schools. The main goal of the practical part is on to create a methodical manual for Biology teachers on the basis of the experimental examination's results, how to create presentations in MPP that are conceived as class work activity learning's support. Microbiological project aimed at the adherence to hygienic habits

The presented diploma work deals with microbiological project aimed at the adherence to hygienic habits. The principal aim of this project is to draw attention of primary and secondary school students to the necessity of careful and proper hand washing. Professional aspects of this work serve as a theoretical basis for individual versions of the project. The practical part of the work deals on the one hand with the project itself and its versions for different types of shools and on the other hand with responses to questionaires which results indicated the suitability of this project to be included in teaching.
