This diploma thesis summarizes the issue of the developmnet and the transformation of the Korean economy. It focuses on the development of the economy since the Japanese occupation untill now. Due to this broad time period it's goal is not a detailed analysis of each transformation step and process but rather a general summary of the issue. The emphasis is put on the inner-economic processes as well as on the outside circumstances interfering the economy and on inner political issues. The thesis also clears up some specifics of the Korean economy.
Child Labour in East Africa

The aim of this thesis is to provide basic overview about child labour and to define the causes. On the basis of understanding the causes it proposes possible solutions of this problem. The first chapter describes East Africa, as a region, where the child labour incidence is one of the highest in the world. The second chapter is focused on analyzing the causes and looking for the ways how to eliminate child labour. The last chapter ilustrates the main characteristics of child labour in East Africa on the example of Ethiopia.

This thesis deals with the present situation of education in developing countries, especially in sub-Saharan Africa region. First chapter focuses on the role of education in development of countries and the present situation of education. Second chapter describes sub-Saharan Africa as a region with critical situation of education. Third chapter deals with case study of Kenya, the chapter provides information about country profile, socio-economic performance and education in Kenya.
Rwanda: the solution to HIV/AIDS problem

The aim of this thesis is to introduce Rwanda, located in Sub-Saharan Africa, as the country trying to reduce its dependence on foreign aid. The government, through various projects, fights against poverty and the related epidemics of malaria, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS by improving the health care system. The current situation of HIV/AIDS epidemic in the world and in Rwanda is mentioned in the second chapter. Last chapter is devoted to a particular Multi-Sectoral HIV/AIDS Project financed by the World Bank, aimed to strengthen preventive measures and improve the care for infected or affected people by the epidemic in Rwanda.
Specifics and problems of countries in the Horn of Africa

The paper is concerned with the problems of countries in the Horn of Africa (Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti and Somalia). The first part provides general geographical, historical and demographic information about the Horn of Africa. Further it analyzes the political and security situation in this region, with a special focus on piracy in Somalia. The second part, in particular deals, with economic problems and region specifics problems such as an economic dependence on agriculture and the impact of climate change, further macro economical development, foreign aid, standard of living and the fall-out from HIV/AIDS on poverty. The last part describes territorial and commodity structure of foreign trade with special an emphasis on Ethiopia, where important role has coffee growing.
The political and economic situation in Myanmar

The goal of the work is to describe the development and current political and economic situation in Myanmar, the influence that has the policy of military junta in economic area and foreign relations. The work raises as well the question of how the military government maintained power at the expense of violations of fundamental human freedoms. The first chapter deals briefly with the general characteristics of the country. The second chapter is devoted to a detailed internal political development since the declaration of independence to the present and the related issue of human rights violations. The third chapter analyzes the economic situation at the beginning of the 21st century. The fourth chapter describes foreign relations of the country with the rest of the world.

Comparison of economic development of Botswana and Democratic republic of Congo since decolonisation

The aim of the bachelor thesis, "Comparison of economic development of Botswana and the Democratic republic of Congo since decolonisation", is to map the development of both countries since the decolonisation. In the case of Botswana, the thesis analyzes successful steps that bring the country to relative prosperity and compare it with the results of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The thesis contains the charactersitc of both countries from economic and political viewpoint. The analysis of 5 factors: good governance, the resourse curse, mining diamonds in Botswana, armed conflict in the Democratic republic of Congo and the prevalence of HIV play important role in development. Review of the current situation concentrates on foreign trade and foreign direct investments. In conclusion, the thesis concerns potential challenges of the diversification of production adn exports, privatisation and the increase of the level of education.
