APPLICATION OF MACHINE LEARNING IN CIVIL ENGINEERING

This thesis deals with the issue of machine learning in modeling of movement of pedestrians, the possibilities of its use and its limitations. The problem is shown on two real examples from practice. Digitization of industry and related use of advanced computing methods, such as artificial intelligence, has undergone unprecedented progress in the last ten years. Nevertheless, the construction industry lags behind other industries. This topic offers a lot of scope for research, the results of which can be very well applied in practice. Machine learning has the potential to be cheap and efficiently process large data sets with high accuracy, almost in real-time. In order for this to be possible, it is necessary to solve questions such as the appropriate choice for the given problem method, its architecture and parameter optimization. Another important direction of research is pre-processing of data, its format and division into training and test sets. This the topic, despite the great progress in the field of machine learning, is still discussed without uniform conclusions. These are the directions in which this work goes.

The role of LAG Blanský les Netolicko in regional development and its contribution to stakeholders

The aim of the diploma thesis "The role of LAG Blanský les Netolicko in regional development and its contribution to stakeholders" generally was to prove the role of the LAG in regional development, and specifically to evaluate the usefulness and efficiency of activity of this particular LAG. It was based on the analysis of the activities of the local action group Blanský les Netolicko, namely activities consisting in identifying the needs and interests of the whole area, creation of strategic documents, setting goals and with these related measures and challenges involving the selection and implementation of projects, but also in terms of its own activity beyond the Strategic plan "LEADER". The theoretical part focused on the findings of regional development, rural development policy, Strategic plan "LEADER" and also at the concept of a local action group and the possibility of cooperation between municipalities. The following practical part dealt with the characteristics of the local action group Blanský les Netolicko, socio-economic analysis of the area, LAG strategic documents, completed projects and their evaluation in relation to the fulfillment of the Strategic Plan "LEADER", other LAG activities and especially the final evaluation of work efficiency of the LAG Blanský les Netolicko, which was based on current activities of the LAG it was supported by information obtained through a questionnaire survey among mayors of member municipalities.

Association of municipalities Podkletí and media presentation of its activities

The aim of the bachelor thesis Association of municipalities Podkletí and media presentation of its activities is, besides other things, the analysis of possibilities in cooperation among Czech municipalities with focus on the intermunicipal cooperation. These possibilities together with the reasons and meanings of cooperation are listed in the first chapter. The main object is to evaluate the cooperation of municipalities within the specific Voluntary association of municipalities Podkletí and to evaluate the presentation of its activities in print, broadcast and new media too. Other chapters are devoted to this issue. Specifically the second chapter deals with the definition of microregion from the physical-geographical and social perspective, as well solve the origins and the reasons of origins of Association of municipalities Podkletí and individual member municipalities. Part of the third chapter is in addition to the characteristics of cooperation between selected municipalities also valorization formed on the basis of interviews with representatives of these municipalities. The last chapter deals with the importance of communication media for the presentation of cooperation of these subjects.
