Monitoring brain structural changes after following ambulatory facilitation physiotherapy in people with multiple sclerosis
Veselá, Adéla ; Řasová, Kamila (advisor) ; Procházková, Marie (referee)
The main objective: The aim of this work is to determine whether lesion load changes after two months of ambulatory physiotherapy based on neurophysiology, whether these changes correlate with clinical outcomes and persist for two months after the end of the program. Methods: This work analyzes the data collected in the study "Neuroproprioceptive" Facilitation, Inhibition "and Brain Plasticity (NEFAI)", registered under the number NCT04355663. Patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) were randomly divided into 2 groups in 2015 and 2017. Each group underwent a different type of outpatient physiotherapy for neuroproprioceptive "facilitation, inhibition", so-called neurophysiological therapy (further in text referred as facilitation therapy) (1 hour twice a week, for a total of 16 therapies in 2 months). The first group underwent therapy using Motor Activating Therapy Programs (MPAT), the second Vojta's reflex therapy (VRL). The entry criteria were a clear diagnosis of MS, the presence of spastic paresis, a stable clinical picture, no changes in therapy in the last 3 months (stabilized state), an Expanded Disability Status Score (EDSS) of maximum values of 7.5. Exclusion criteria were other neurological diagnoses and conditions that prevent movement and all 3 visits were not met (before the start of the...
Case report of physiotherapeutic care about patient with diagnosis after Meningoencephalitis.
Hanušová, Barbora ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (advisor) ; Procházková, Marie (referee)
Title: Case report of physiotherapeutic care about patient with diagnosis after Meningoencephalitis. Summary: This thesis consists of two parts - a general part and a special part. The general part summarizes theoretical basis of the disease. It explains the term of meningoencephalitis and represents its epidemiology and etiopatogenesis, clinical marks, possible complications of the disease, its diagnostics and cure. The special part contains case report of physiotherapy care for a patient after meningoencephalitis. The case report consists of initial musculoskeletal assessment of the patient, performance of the therapeutic units and assessment of the effectiveness of the therapy. Case report was worked out on the rehabilitation clinic Na Malvazinkách in Prague at the time of continuous bachelor's practice. Keywords: psysiotherapy, meningoencephalitis, tick-borne encefalitis, non-infected brain inflammation, viral diseases of the central nervous system.
Case report of physiotherapeutic treatment of patient after tibial osteosynthesis
Procházková, Marie ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (referee)
Title: Case report of physiotherapeutic treatment of patient after tibial osteosynthesis Summary: The general part of this thesis contains theoretical information about anatomy and kinesiology of foot and ankle joint and it also deals with gait biomechanics. There is a brief description of distal leg fractures, their classification, diagnostics and therapy. Furthermore, the general part contains information on physiotherapeutic procedures and methods used in fracture rehabilitation. The special part is elaborated as the patient's case report, which was created during the four-week clinical practice at Rehabilitacion hospital of Beroun. The patient's case report contains anamnestic data and an initial kinesiological analysis. The goals of short-term and long-term therapy plan are based on this initial analysis. Finally, the work also includes the progress of individual therapeutic units, output kinesiological examination and evaluation of the effect of therapy. Key Words: ankle joint, foot, fracture, physical therapy, rehabilitacion
Facilitation physiotherapy in the tertiary prevention of multiple sclerosis (focusing on neuroplasticity)
Procházková, Marie ; Řasová, Kamila (advisor) ; Hluštík, Petr (referee) ; Krhut, Jan (referee)
Background: Regular physical activity and physiotherapy positively influence the health and physical condition of people with multiple sclerosis (MS). These activities support neuroplasticity of the brain, which can lead to a slowing down of clinical progression. However, the mechanism of this recovery is still not well documented. Nevertheless, imaging methods are currently widely used to help to create a better understanding of the pathophysiological and consequent reparative processes in MS. Aims: This study aims to demonstrate changes in clinical functions, functional activity and brain connectivity (by functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging - fMRI) in MS patients after two months of physiotherapy. It seeks to clarify the preventive importance of regular physiotherapy, and also to provide further insights into the pathophysiological and neuroplastic processes in MS patients. Methods: This is a prospective randomized experimental study with longitudinal observation. People with MS (N = 38) were divided into two groups and underwent a two- month ambulatory physiotherapy program (1 hour, twice a week of neuroproprioceptive "facilitation, inhibiton" therapy). A clinical examination and fMRI examination were carried out one month before, just before, just after and a month after the end of the...
Possibilities of monitoring and evaluation of accompanying non-locomotor manifestacions during reflex locomotion according to Vojta
Procházková, Marie ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Stupková, Michaela (referee)
Title: Possibilities of monitoring and evaluation of accompanying non-locomotor manifestacions during reflex locomotion according to Vojta Objectives: The aim of study is to determine suitable conditions for measuring and evaluating non-locomotor manifestations. Furthermore, to clarify whether there are changes in the accompanying non-locomotor manifestations during the stimulation of trigger zones from the concept of Vojta's principle. Accompanying non-locomotor manifestations are mainly manifestations of the autonomic nervous system. Measurement of respiratory rate, heart rate and swallowing rate was chosen to evaluate these parameters. Methods: The research was conducted on 7 adult subject for measuring respiratory and heart rate and 12 adult subject for measuring swallowing frequency. These were healthy women aged 18-30. Data were obtained from a CamNtech Actiheard compact ECG sensor and from a video recording. Each proband was first measured for a resting ECG and then measured during activaton of the thoracic trigger zone from the Vojta concept, twice in a row for fifteen minutes. One measurement was performed with the eyes open, the other with the eyes closed, the order was randomized. The obtained data were processed into a video recording and evaluated for each proband separately. It was...

Utilization of the garden-pond biotope in secondary education (Comprehensive inquiry-based education program)
PROCHÁZKOVÁ, Marie
The purpose of this thesis is to develop a comprehensive educational program involving student activities related to the biotope of the garden pond. The theoretical part deals with general issues of inquiry-based education and the utilization of school gardens. The main contribution of the thesis is the creation of a concrete educational program, comprising seven activities which employ the environment of a garden pond. It is designated for biology and geography classes at middle/secondary schools. Each activity portfolio consists of a methodological sheet for teachers and a work sheet for students. Most activities can be carried in the environment of any water tank; some activities can be also done in the school building. The training program was pilot tested with elementary school teachers and subsequently with sixth and seventh grade students. Concurrently, an evaluation of the program's effectiveness was implemented in the form of written tests. The thesis discusses the findings from this evaluation as well as the practical verification of the suggested program that was carried out on teachers and on students.
