The role of social workers in prisoners in the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis deals with the role of social workers in prisons in the Czech Republic. The main goal is to analyze the competences and activities of social workers in prisons in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part in the first chapter defines social work in prison, the legal framework of social work, the role of the social worker, his work content and his role in the multidisciplinary team within the prison. The second chapter of the theoretical part defines the concept of prison, the Prison Service of the Czech Republic and its organizational structure. Next, the division of prisons according to their types and degrees of protection. And finally, the concept of serving a prison sentence. The third chapter then describes the reception and placement of those sentenced to imprisonment, the rights and obligations of those sentenced to imprisonment, treatment programs, the concept of SARPO and release from sentence. The main goal of the practical part was to analyze the competences and activities of social workers in prisons in the Czech Republic. The sub-goals were: "To find out the possibilities of social workers when implementing social work in prisons in the Czech Republic" and "Describe possible problems of social workers when implementing social work in prisons in the Czech Republic". The objectives were achieved using a qualitative strategy, a method of interviewing and the technique of semi-structured interviews with selected social workers. Selected social workers were asked the following research questions: "What are the possibilities of social workers when implementing social work in prisons in the Czech Republic?" and "What are the problems of social workers when implementing social work in prisons in the Czech Republic?"
Juristic, social and criminogenic aspects of violent crime.

This bachelor thesis aims to find out what are the causes of violent crime on particularly vulnerable victims. The theoretical part in the first chapter defines the legal aspects of violent crime, the definition of selected crimes, the definition of crime victims and particularly vulnerable victims. The second chapter defines the concept of criminology, criminological concept of violence, characteristics of violent acts, phenomenology of violent crime, causes and conditions of violent crime, aspects of choosing a senior as a victim of crime, prevention, and repression. Finally, the impact of violent crime in society and on individuals is defined. The main goal of the practical part was to find out the causes of violent crime on particularly vulnerable victims using their own questionnaire and to confirm or refute the hypotheses that victims of violent crime are more often victims of particularly vulnerable victims than others and whether most violence is committed to parties of their loved ones.
