Availability of banking products to persons with disabilities

This thesis investigates the availability of banking products to persons with disabilities. It presumes that they don't fully utilize available products and investigates reasons of this situation. The first section provides core definitions, including those of banking products, consumer protection and financial literacy. Chapter 3 focuses on describing disabilities. The next section presents two pieces of research. One focuses on selected banking institutions, comparing results of surveys from 2007 and 2012, the other presents findings from interviews with representatives of people with disability. Recommendations towards improving the availability of banking products to persons with disabilities are also offered.
The financial literacy of Vietnamese immigrants in the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis focuses on the financial literacy of Vietnamese immigrants in the Czech Republic. The basis is the research made by the author of the diploma thesis. The main objective is to analyze the real situation of the financial comprehension by Vietnamese immigrants in the Czech Republic, and highlight their mistakes in the complex world of finance. This thesis also points out some problems and complications, which have resulted from lack information about financial products. It will also try to suggest a method of how to increase financial literacy of Vietnamese immigrants. The diploma thesis is composed in three chapters. The first one gives some information about Vietnamese immigrants in the Czech Republic. The second part presents the results from research, and the last chapter deals with a financial institution that wants to focus on Vietnamese clients in the Czech Republic.

The Process of Transformation of a Credit Union to a Bank in the Context of the Czech Banking System

The Diploma thesis deals with a comparative analysis of credit institutions operating on the Czech banking market. The first part of the thesis characterizes the banking system of the Czech Republic, the legal status of different institutional types and specifies range of their activities. The second part of the thesis focuses on the positions of the institutions against the supervisor and clients. The last part of the diploma thesis analyses the process of transformation of credit unions to banks, as well as reasons for this transformation and its possible consequences.
The impact of the global financial crisis on the mortgage market in the Czech Republic

This bachelor thesis is focused on the development of the mortgage market in the Czech Republic during the global financial crisis. First explained are the most important characteristics of the mortgage loans and their placemen on the Czech market. The mortgage and financial crisis in the United States is then described with implications on the Czech real estate market and the preparedness of Czech banks. The financial situation of Czech citizens and the changes to the requirements for the mortgage loans are examined. Finally the development of the interest rates and new mortgage loans is analyzed.
Internal audit and internal control system of commercial bank

The bachelor thesis is focused on characterization of internal bank audit and internal control system in the bank. In the beginning the basic principles and goals of internal audit are described, legislation of internal bank audit and personality of internal auditor are determined subsequently. In the next part there is explained the position of internal audit in bank organization structure and recommended organization of internal audit department. For better illustration the possibilities of organization are enclosed. After that the internal control bank system is defined and the role of internal audit in this system. In conclusion author pays attention to description of internal bank audit process. The thesis is focused on environment of commercial banks in the Czech Republic.
Funding opportunities for higher education

The purpose of this bachelor work is to present the Czech higher education which is divided to public, private and state universities. There are discussed the costs associated with studies and possible introduction of special fees for studying. Second part is devoted to issue of upcoming changes in the Higher Education Act and there are also presenting the changes which will be held in the future. The third part is the most important because there is a comparison of credit products, especially loans, overdrafts and credit cards that banks offer to student to finance their studies.
Analysis of mergers and acquisitions on Czech market with evaluation of its effects

Diploma thesis deals with an analysis of mergers and acquisitions on Czech market with evaluation of its effects. Introduction of the thesis contains glossary of related terms in areas of mergers and acquisitions and definition of motivations of companies to implement change. Thesis is focused on financial market and mostly on bank sector. Following part of the thesis is describing history and evolution of mergers and acquisitions on global market and after that on Czech market with emphasis on change from central planned system to market economics. The biggest added value of the thesis is description of valuation methods for ex post analysis of financial transaction between banks. Financial analysis method, evaluation of different subject's market share or evaluation of merged companies are involved. Some of these methods are used on real case of merger of eBanka and Raiffeisenbank that was finished in 2008.
Comparative analysis of positions of banks and cooperative credit union in the banking sector in the Czech Republic

This thesis compares banks and cooperative credit unions within Czech Republic from different points of view. Specifically, these points of view are history, legal frame and also the position on current Czech market. Depiction of the historic development of Czech banks and cooperative credit unions describes their position on the market across different time periods together with summary of changes in legislation and capital market supervision. Legal frame chapter describes separate points of legislation, based on which it is possible to compare both banks and cooperative credit unions. These points for comparison are creation, liquidation, information duties towards Czech national bank etc. The whole second part of the thesis deals with a comparison of both sectors with following comparison of particular representatives of selected sectors from different points of view. These are competitiveness on the market, capital adequacy and other indicators.
Financial Literacy (the comparative analysis of educational materials for upper primary school)

This thesis deals with the financial literacy and its teaching at Czech primary schools. First, a brief summary of activities supporting financial education is presented. In the second part, there are some of the conclusions of research the level of financial knowledge and also available teaching materials described. The main chapter analyzes the project "Rozumíme penězům" and the textbook "Finanční gramotnost pro 2. stupeň ZŠ". Content and methodological point of view are the most important. The thesis also determines whether both materials meet requirements of Financial Literacy Standards and PISA.
