Technology of manufacturing of carbon fibre composites by hot forming

This master’s thesis deals with the composite materials and especially aims on the carbon and glass fiber composites. It points out different composition types and manufacturing methods which reflect in the different mechanical properties, final quality of the manufactured part and also in the manufacturing time. The practical part includes two particular manufacturing methods using prepregs, one cured in an autoclave and one by hot compression moulding.

This bachelor thesis deals with the development of pipeline materials and especially aims on the current trends. It describes metal, plastic and multi-layer materials. Following part compares and evaluates these materials. This work includes a project and a realization of a model circuit in order to compare price and pressure drops of different pipeline materials.
Želeč - Celoročně využívaný zahradní domek

This bachelor thesis deals with the design of a year-round garden house in the village of Želeč (Prostějov district). The house is located in the garden behind the family house and will be used for the stay of a family with children. It is a one-storey building with a wooden column structure, unbasement, roofed with a pitched roof with the possibility of using the under-roof space. There is an outbuilding on the convenient side for storing fruit and vegetables. As part of the siting of the building on the garden part of the site, there will be a partial demolition of the existing unused building. Four layout and space options are proposed to select and agree the most suitable garden house solution. For the final alternative, a drawing documentation is prepared, which is supplemented by a structural design including basic technical calculations.
Al Jazeera versus Al Arabiya

Diploma thesis "al Jazeera versus al Arabiya - Media Rivalry of Qatar and Saudi Ruling Families during the 2006 Lebanon War" deals with domestic Arab satellite channels - Qatar al Jazeera and Saudi al Arabiya - and their way of reporting about the war in Lebanon in 2006. Their news coverage is put into context of rivalry between Qatar and Saudi ruling families. The thesis focuses on wide range of issues including the role of media in foreign policy of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, use of media for securing stability of the ruling regimes and for pursuing their regional influence. Main theoretical concept of the thesis is the Arab media model which enables projection of interests of the ruling families in Qatar and Saudi Arabia into their media.
The Precautionary Principle and Risk-Management in Environmental Decision-Making

Alaska, more than any other state in the US, has a history of natural resource dependency that is unequalled in any other state. This dependency on raw natural resources as the main driver for the economy has persisted to current times. In addition to the economic importance of natural resources, usage of the ecosystem and the benefits it provides are an important part of the survival, culture and economic well-being of the rural population. Bristol Bay has a special role in Alaska based on its abundance of salmon, which bring tourists and industry to the region and provide its main source of income. Recently, the mining industry has taken an interest in the region and its numerous natural resources. Concern has been expressed by both the existing fishing and tourism industries as well as the general population of the region as to the effects that mining activities would have on the region's ecosystem and fish and wildlife populations on which they are dependant. The current permitting system has been criticized for being too lenient and biased in favor of the mining companies. This has been attributed to changes in the competences assigned to different agencies from 2002-2005.
