Quest for truth as a fundamental moral claim

Is it possible to describe questing for truth as a fundamental moral claim? If so, in what meaning than? The goal of the submitted work is to find the answer to these questions. As the starting point of reflections serves a characteristic of a man as a person in spirit of dialogical personalism. This correspond with personal project conception of moral truth. That is put in connection with the life story of Jesus of Nazareth as a true man. With the assistence of the terms "conscience" and "liberty" is the final conception of moral truth set in a wider purview of ethical reflections and consequently confrontated with teaching of encyclical "Veritas splendor".

Moral and legal aspects of the early stage of human life The presented thesis discusses normative aspects of the early stage of human life, especially in regard to the problem of embryo-destructive research. It places the discussion in the factual and normative context of the Czech society. It discusses moral questions raised in international literature. The author applies the knowledge to the Czech situation and recommends that further discussion focus on the objective understanding of the value of human life, as well as on rule-utilitarian considerations.

Ethics, credibility and objectivity in the history of photography, especially journalistic This work deals with photography as with a socio-ethical pictorial medium, and covers the period from its invention to the mid-fifties of 20th century. I describe the history and development of ethical aspects of photography in the context of the process from image taking to its publication in the press, and its importance in the context of the time. The photos presented in the thesis are selected from those that have, due to their specific impact at the time they were taken, particular importance, and have extraordinary informative value related to ethical aspects in the historical development of photography. I mention photographers and photos that draw attention to the newly emerged ethical problems enable others to see pains, wickedness and injustice in the society, to rouse conscience of the society, and give impetus to correct these. In this respect, photography has played an important and irreplaceable role. There are also presented photographs documenting ethical failures of whole nations under the influence of monstrous ideologies of charismatic leaders, as a memento for future generations to help them to avoid similar events. The bachelor degree thesis "Morality and sport - the issue of doping " tries to describe one of the up-to-date sport problem which is doping. It also tries to show what doping is, what leads sportsmen to its abuse and what are the effects of using illegal backdrops applications. Generally the doping sportsman is not the only one who knows about abusing of illegal substances, this problem concerns sportsmen as well as trainers, doctors, officials and other people who proceed in the area of sport. The thesis puts mind to human health and its damaging under the influence of doping substances and applications and shows how clerical documents see this problem.

The right of state to punish

The work deals with the law of the State to punish. The author seeks answers to her unspoken questions, whether the State has the right to punish its citizens, or on what base can do so. In solution to this question, author comes from the needs a good arrangement of human relations given with justice and law at first. After examining similarities and differences between moral norms and legal norms she ultimately concludes, that punishment isn't an expression of malevolence, but rather can be a mean of education.

ETIC IMPLICATIONS OF COMMANDMENT OF LOVE ACCORDING TO VERITATIS SPLENDOR AND DEUS CARITAS EST Comparation of interpretations of universal etic norm by John Paul II and Benedict XVI in quoted encyclicals The purpose of my thesis is to analyse and compare Veritatis splendor and Deus caritas est in order to defend the basic statement that the commandment of love is the only one norm of the christian etics and every other norm is based on it. A complex of questions comes out from the interpretation of the commandment of love and it can be divided into two branches 'why' and 'how'. There are three main reasons why to live under the commandment: love is aim of liberty, love fulfils the law, love has its origin in the truth. The love according to these three columns leads to salvation. The answer how to live under commandment of love is in the following of the example of Jesus Christ. The analytic and the synthetic part of my thesis are framed into seven themes: 1) Love, 2) Neighbour, 3) Commandment of love, 4) Law, 5) Liberty, 6) Truth, 7) Following. Personal freedom and bonum commune analysis of work theory of justice John Rawls christian ethics from the perspective

This work tries to present the importance of the theory of justice of John Rawls from the point of view of Christian ethics, pointing out selected aspect of this theory. The basis for this reflection gives the fact, that the theory of justice of John Rawls is repeatedly cited in the presentations of the principles of Catholic social teaching. In some points they show similarities, in others are in opposition. Furthermore, John Rawls formulates his formal theory in a way to make it acceptable for every rational human being. In this group are also included persons with religious and moral ideas, or how John Rawls call them himself: people with comprehensive doctrines. The rationale to examine the theory of justice is justified also by the fact that Rawls ascribes not ignorable function in the aforementioned theory to religious ideas. Thirdly, in the case of John Rawls is possible to see one of the advocates and fore-representative of the liberal tradition. Liberalism is, because of its ambiguous definition but simultanously real presence in the society and thinking of people, not ignorable challenge for the Church and religious ideas, with which she already tries for two hundred years to tackle. Generally the doping sportsman is not the only one who knows about abusing of illegal substances, this problem concerns sportsmen as well as trainers, doctors, officials and other people who proceed in the area of sport. The thesis puts mind to human health and its damaging under the influence of doping substances and shows how doping manifests itself in conscience and what is the motivation for breaching the anti - doping rules for sportsmen. Bachelor thesis "Ethics and sport - The doping problems" maps the situation of doping controls in the Czech Republic, possibilitiet of doping preventions and next repressions for rules breaching.
