Assistance to the handicapped people and their families

Diploma thesis Assistance to the handicapped people and their families deals with demanding challenges which parents with children born with handicap are faced. Concerning the exacting situations that aren't one - time but long-term, parents are grateful for each support or help. Therefore a sensitive assistance to these families is very important. To make it effective, it's necessary to understand both thinking, feelings, handicapped child's needs and members of their broad surroundings. That's why this thesis occupies with challenging life situations, stress and stress coping in general, child's handicap, accepting this child and related unexpected new situations by parents. The thesis deals with issues related to children with autism and with Down's syndrome. It presents significant role of support for children with handicap and their families provided by the self-governed associations and groups. It occupies with assistance to these families with handicapped children by means of challenge for pastoral work and evangelization. Internet and the Holy See

This diploma thesis called Internet and the Holy See deals with a specific question concerning relationship between the Catholic Church and media. It examines development of the attitude of the Holy See to the Internet in context of its attitude to mass media on the basis of exploration of ecclesiastical documents related to media and analysis of Internet and mass media use in practice. It takes the Internet as the latest fundamental milestone in development of human communication and probes how the Catholic Church represented by the Holy See deals with this phenomenon. Name of this thesis begins with the word Internet, to indicate perspective chosen on this topic. In the last chapter there are conclusions emerging from analysis of ecclesiastical documents compared with actual use of the Internet by the Holy See.
Christian Church Funeral Ceremonies

he diploma thesis "Christian Church Funeral Ceremonies" deals with Roman Catholic Church funeral ceremonies, both preceding and following the Second Vatican Council reforms, Greek Catholic Church funeral ceremonies and those of Eastern Orthodox Church, Czechoslovak Hussite Church and Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren. It describes various ceremonies and their historical development. By means of comparing the structures of these ceremonies it attempts to find what they have in common as well as what makes them distinctively different in terms of liturgy and theological teaching. It examines the theme of death, after-life conceptions, and funeral ceremonies in life of ancient people and European pagans, Jewish tradition and culture of Middle ages. It also covers the area of the last things of a man and resurrection matter as far as it is mentioned in liturgical books. Finally it questions the suitability of available liturgical texts concerning special cases and new forms of funeral ceremonies. Catechesy for the adults. Situation in Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic

Presented work introduces basic view of Catechesis in Czech Republic considerating from the foundation of the republic - Czechoslovakia - till now. There is a note in introduction of how we actually understand Catechesis to place the words to context. Reflections and opinions of the church are mentioned in the text as well as references to some documents of church and also notes of Catechesis held in the church outside the Czech lands to clarify the topic of Catchesis in the Czech Republic. Together with resources from books listed in the end of the work, some personal experiences of an author for the period of last thirty years are also noted. The work does not attempt to be a complete outlook on the whole issue but is rather a look at this issue from a new angle.
Existential-analytic concept of meaning in life and its implications for the care of seriously and terminally ill patients of health care facilities

In Czech hospitals, a patient's problems are usually perceived mainly as troubles of a somatic nature, which reduces the quality of the care provided. It is usually very professional in terms of fulfilling the patient's physical needs. However, the care provided in the domain of the patient's psycho-social needs is developing rather slowly, while caring for their spiritual needs is either totally absent or only beginning to be realized and offered. This thesis looks into the ways in which the spiritual needs, above all the need to find a meaning in one's life, can be examined, understood, and fulfilled - especially in people that are seriously, incurably or terminally ill. The hospital staff do not have enough experience concerning the care of the spiritual dimension of man, nor do they have enough knowledge and skills to provide the necessary care and assistance, although such needs could often be crucial for the quality of life of such patients. V. E. Frankl's antropology, which is the basis of his therapeutic approach of logotherapy and existential analysis, is applied here as one of the theoretical models that are suitable for the clinical application of this thesis. Premonstratensian Education in the Czech Territory in the 19th Century

Premonstratensian Education in the Czech Territory in the 19th Century This specific study contributes to the knowledge of the Order in our territory in the course of the 19th century and it explores the activity of the Premonstratensian in the schools established by them. The topic is approached in the broader context of the education of the examined era. The study explains the characteristics of the schooling and education organisation system as well, focusing on the specific problematic of religious schooling and education from various points of view. As part of the argument, the Order of Canons Regular of Prémontré is described and an evaluation of its educational activities in the course of all the history of the Order is provided. A significant part of the study is dedicated to the Strahov Abbey and its educational facilities, especially to the schools that were restored or undertaken by the Order in the researched period. The conclusive part characterises other schools run by orders in the territories of Bohemia and Moravia.
Jiří Reinsberg and Liturgy Reform at the Parish of Our Lady before Týn

This thesis deals with history of the liturgy reform and implementation of renewed liturgy in Czechoslovakia on the model of concrete parish community by the church of Our Lady before Tyn. It focuses on the form of liturgy during time when Jiří Reisberg served here as a parish. Based on historical reference and interviews with parishioners who experienced liturgy there at those times the thesis searches for answers to questions how the holy mass was celebrated there, how parishioners were taught about new practices and changes in liturgy and how this parish contributed to the liturgical life in Czechoslovakia. The thesis also catalogues information about Jiří Reinsberg's personality, his liturgical and theological notion and presents survey of his publication activities.
Pastoral care of psychotic patients

Pastoral care of psychotic patients The thesis deals with the pastoral care for psychotic people. Psychotic diseases are characterized in general and some of them separately. The thesis deals with the pastoral care principles in general and specifically for the ill. Knowledge is applied and specifics of the pastoral care for the psychotic people are formulated in the thesis. Professional literature is evaluated in the first chapter. The second chapter deals with a disease and the pastoral care. Particular psychotic diseases are described in the third chapter, such as schizophrenia, delusion disorder, schizoaffective disorder, psychotic obsession, psychotic depression, bipolar disorder. Drug abuse psychoses and psychotic disorders as a result of a somatic disease are also listed in that chapter. The pastoral care for the ill is specified in the fourth chapter.
The Beuron School and Liturgy

Subject of my work is the Beuronese art and its relation to the liturgy. The first part concerns generally the beuronese confederation, its foundation, historical development and expansion. The piece draws the creation and the basic solutions of the confederation, coming of the Beuron Art School as an individual style, and presents the most important beuronese performers. The study also surveys the main works of the Beuron Art School and evaluates the School's influence on the main art streams of the period. The work then tries to describe and clarify the relationship between the beuronese conception of sacral art and liturgy using examples of the two most important Prague beuronese monasteries. For this purpose it analyses so called beuronese "Gesamtkunstwerk", using knowledge of the Christian iconography.
The Intercessions Collections for Celebrating the Eucharist in the Czech and Moravian Dioceses

The intercessions' prayer represents requests for universal Roman Catholic, prayers for people who govern on the World,for gift and salvation all the world, and then all suffered people and local parish. Our work will deal this prayer in the view of celebrating Eucharist and history in the Czech's and Moravian's dioceses with the clue make cataloguing, analyzes contents of these intercessions' collections and compares it from special viewpoints. It would find differences between contents of that intercessions'collections and outline of critical evaluation. Therefore there are main points in these intercessions' prayer our work approaches. There are anamnesis of formation intercessions' collections, cataloguing, systematics processing of differences, analysis of content intercessions' collections and critical evaluation.
