Internet, public libraries and information policy in Cuba

The aim of this thesis is to present the development and current state of information policy and public libraries in Cuba. The first part of thesis outlines historical and political development in Cuba since the beginning of the revolution in 1959 to the present and introduces the development of selected areas of information policy on the island. The second part analyzes the expansion of information and communication technologies, including Internet and its censorship. The last part of thesis summarizes historical development and current state of public libraries and partially librarianship.

The concept of "information policy" with regard to continental European and American traditions

Dissertation deals with the problem of information policy and its development. Information policy and e-Government is defined. The emphasis is put mainly on the history and development of information policy in The United States and Europe, represented by the European Union, Germany and France, from which the current EU policy draws. In conclusion, a comparison is made, to confront American and European attitude along with several cases about the conditions of information policy in the Czech Republic. European Union information policy at the time of the Bangemann's activities in comparison with USA

(in English) The thesis "Information Policy of European Union in Bangemann's activities period in comparison with USA" is devoted to the Information policy issue applied by the European Union and the United States of America. The thesis structure is defined at the earliest; afterwards the basic terms are followed. The thesis describes the European Union history, which provides context needed to be able to understand the European Union Information policy. The description and evaluation of the European Information policy in Bangemann's activities period in comparison with USA in the same time period and the possibility of mutual utilization of pros of the Information policy of both countries is the aim of this thesis. The following part is occupied with the comparison of EU and USA Information policy at the beginning of 21st century.
The current situation of eGovernment in selected regional offices in the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis entitled The current situation of eGovernment in selected regional offices in the Czech Republic is centered on actual state of electronic public administration at Czech regional offices. Author of the thesis seeks to give an account of the E-government project in the Czech Republic, its development and strategic documents. Subsequently listed are examples of E-government in foreign countries and its current trends. Practical part is devoted to comparison of the financial costs and current stage of E-government projects at regional offices. Presented are results of the survey centered on the citizens' awareness about the E-government services in the Czech Republic. Pornography as the agent of technological change : the transformation of perception of embodiment and privacy

The aim of this rigorosum thesis is to explore the relationship between pornography and new technologies. The influence of this relationship on perception of embodiment and privacy is also discussed. The thesis describes technologies and related procedures which came into contact with pornographic content at an early stage of their existence and has been affected by this specific segment of the market. This paper also examines aspects of these effects and focuses on the related penetration of these technologies among the general public. It also reflects the possible impacts on individuals and whole society. The thesis is divided into four main chapters. The first chapter focuses on videocassette recorders, i.e. a technology that was affected by pornography in the past. The second chapter summarizes the impact of pornography on the Internet, which represents the technology we encounter every day, and which is often an integral part of our lives. The third chapter outlines the possible future development of relationship between pornography and new technologies, while it also analyzes the driving forces of the influence of pornography. The final chapter reflects changes in the perception of embodiment and privacy in a society that was brought by the pornography and related technologies. Powered by TCPDF...
