Determination of content of organic compounds in biochar

Biochar is created during the pyrolysis of organic biomass. Once added into the soil, it can improve its features. Biochars made from sewage sludge have various compositions. It is because of the vast difference between entrance materials. Organic pollutants can be absorbed into its surface during the cooling proces sof pyrolysis. If released into the enviroment, these compounds can cause inhibition of plant growth, get into food chains and adversely affect living organisms. Organic pollutans are determined most often by GC/MS after organic solvent extraction.

Study of the elevated temperature influence on paper properties in the inert atmosphere

This diploma thesis was aimed at study of the effect of various gaseous extinguishing media in an environment of increased temperature on the paper and its properties. Paper samples were exposed to elevated temperature in air, CO2 gas and gas mixtures of N2:Ar (1:1). The impact of conditions on the mechanical, chemical and optical properties of paper has been studied after exposure of the paper by extinguishing media under elevated temperature. The change of properties was determined immediately after exposure of samples under simultaneous conditions of fire, further one was determined for samples exposed to conditions of dry and wet aging. As a reference sample was used crude paper. Values of elasticity modulus, strength tensile, tearing resistance, the work needed for break tension, the total color difference and pH of samples have been determined. The results showed that every external influence causes at least some change in mechanical, optical and chemical properties such as increased temperature, the effect of extinguishing media or ageing of paper. The gas mixture N2:Ar (1:1) had the smallest influence on the sample paper, which was worked. Thus this gas mixture could be the best choice for the application in archive environments.

Emergency Medical Service as Component of Integrated Emergency System

Incident may be caused by the harmful effect of natural forces and phenomena caused by human activities. For dealing with situations that threaten health and property of citizens there were created the Integrated Rescue System, which is designed as a system of cooperation and coordination of components in preparation for emergencies and when conducting rescue and clean up operations to achieve rapid and effective assistance. This work deals mainly with problems of emergency medical services. The aim is to map the system of emergency medical services. It is composed as an introduction to the basic concepts of activities, legislation, EMS documentation, opportunities for cooperation with other components of the rescue system, designating a single procedure in dealing with mass EMS disability health. This is a summary of information on EMS in the CR. It also contains information about EMS in other countries

Determination of substances content in mint

This Bachelor thesis deals with determination of the content substances in mint (Mentha). Mint is in pharmacy very popular herb, it is been used for over 2000 years. We know many species of mint. Peppermint (Mentha piperita) is the most favorite and most common species. In the theoretical part there is description of substances found in plants, the characteristic of mint and principles of used analytical methods. Practical part of this thesis describes substances found in examined teas.

Danger of Chemical Terrorism in the Czech Republic

Based on the literature review was mapped situation of chemical terrorism in the Czech Republic. In the introductory part of the thesis mentioned characteristics and the distribution to terrorism, is focused specifically on the chemical, which is carried out by chemical weapons. It is the setting between the so-called weapons of mass destruction. To address the proper and timely handling of emergencies such as use of the Integrated Rescue System software tools that help to model the vehicle in a situation where there is some way to leak chemicals. In this work were selected 2 software – ALOHA and TerEx. According to the resulting values were selected substance that could be considered dangerous, so most libely diverted to terrorist attack. In conclusion, it was pointed out the hazard assessment of industrial chemicals, and was advised to prepare the content and scope of the threat of chemical attack.

Pedagogická komunikace ve výuce odborného předmětu

The bachelor's thesis is focused on pedagogical communication in teaching a professional subject from the perspective of a high school student. The work contains a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part aims to explain the concept of communication and divide communication into sub-forms. It also describes the relationship between the student and the teacher and specifies the rules of communication between the actors. It points out the level between teacher and student on their forms of communication and how the feedback takes place. The practical part of the work, processes and evaluates the questionnaire survey. Questionnaire, content of 15 closed questions, 1 semi-closed question and 3 open questions, which gave the respondents the opportunity to fully express their own opinion. The respondents were pupils of the 1st and 3rd year of the graduation field of Agribusiness. The questionnaire was filled in and sent back by 40 respondents, ie 100% of the respondents. The main goal of the survey was to find out the opinion on the way of communication of a selected teacher of a professional subject in teaching and outside it.

Geopolymers: The influence of alkaline activator cations on efflorescence

This paper describes the effect of the type of cations in the alkaline activator on geopolymer properties and especially on the formation of efflorescence. The susceptibility to the formation of efflorescence is discussed according to the standard ČSN 72 1565-13. Cations in alkaline activators influence the mineralogical type of efflorescence: Li+ and Na+ cations form carbonates (Li2CO3 and Na2CO3, respectively), whereas K+ cations form sulphate (K2SO4). The mechanical properties, workability and pore structure of the geopolymer composites have been determined. Alkaline activators with sodium and potassium ions reach higher mechanical strength than those containing lithium cations. For lithium alkaline activators, there was a noticeable difference in the properties between the SiO2/Li2O ratios 1.8 and 2.6. Based on the properties of the mentioned geopolymer composites with various alkaline cations, it is possible to use lithium alkaline activators in geopolymer technology.

First-instance proceedings for administrative transgressions

The offence proceedings are a special type of the administrative proceedings, through which the administrative body adjudicate on the accused of the offence and his guilt and punishment. The purpose of the offence proceedings is to find out solution of a question, if the offence was committed and who is responsible for that. The offence proceedings are regulated mainly in the code no. 200/1990 Sb., Act on Transgressions, and subsidiary in the code no. 500/2004 Sb., Administrative Procedure Rules. Also legal principles are very important and influencing the offence proceedings. The offence is the object of the offence proceedings. The offence according to the Czech legal system is considered as a wrongful act which is injurious to the public as the crime is, but the difference between them is that the offence is less serious than a crime. The participants and the administrative body are the subjects of this type of proceedings. The offences are heard by the administrative body and the administrative body decides on rights and impose the obligations towards the offender. The participants of the offence proceedings are the accused of the offence, the aggrieved party, the owner of the thing, that might be confiscated, and the applicant, who put the petition. Capillary electrophoresis of flavonoids and phytopharmaceuticals

A method based on capilllary zone electrophoresis (CZE) with UV detection was developed for simultaneous separation and determination of bioflavonoids hesperidin and diosmin. The analysis was performed in a fused silica capillary with effective lenght 60 cm and 50 μm I.D. UV detection was used at 207 nm. The optimum separation conditions were found out in this work. Samples were loaded hydrodynamically at a pressure of 50 mbar for 20 s. The background electrolyte consisted of 10 mM phosphate, 40 mM borate buffer with 10% MeOH, 15 mM -CD (pH* 8,0) at 25 řC. The separation voltage was +20 kV. Methylparaben was chosen as an internal standard. The calibration dependences were rectilinear in the range from 0,025 to 0,4 mg/ml for hesperidin (R=0,9973) and from 0,05 to 0,8 mg/ml for diosmin (R=0,9987). The single analysis took about 15 min. The method was suitable for determining the bioflavonoids in pharmaceutical preparation Detralex capsules with RSD values 2.4 % (diosmin) and 3.1 % (hesperidin), n=6. The recoveries were from 93,09 to 102,30 % as found by the standard addition technique.
