The relation between backache and urinary incontinence

Title of master's thesis: The relation between backache and urinary incontinence Aims: The aim of the thesis is to find relations between various body structures. The main focus is on the analysis of the connections between backache and urinary incontinence depending on duration of backache, localization, backache promotion and sports activities. Methods: The survey was carried out by a four-page questionnaire. In total there was a group of 97 respondents, 79 women and 18 men, who had problems with backache, urinary incontinence or both. The age range of the respondents was from 18 up to 84 years. The questionnaires were distributed to specialized clinical centers in the fields of rehabilitation and physical medicine. The survey data was processed and analyzed by using the statistical program SPSS, Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. Results: The results indicate that there is a relation between backache and urinary incontinence. There is also a relation between promotion of pain in the lower extremities and urinary incontinence. Moreover, it has shown that more than half of the respondents had backache and urinary incontinence at the same time. However, the last two results have not been found statistically significant. Title: The Use of Physiotherapy in Spasticity Management Objectives: The purpose of this thesis is to provide a summary of present findings on spasticity, with particular regard to its pathophysiological mechanisms and clinical manifestations, and to present an overview of medical and physiotherapeutic approaches applied in its treatment. Furthermore, it aims at making a research in physiotherapeutic methods and techniques used for reduction of spasticity. The thesis shall present relevant studies, provide their comparison and critically evaluate the effect of methods and techniques examined in them. Methods: This thesis is a descriptive analysis based on a literature review. Results: Based on the research findings, it may be concluded that physiotherapy has proven to be effective in reducing spasticity. However, it is not possible to determine whether the techniques to reduce spasticity are more effective than techniques without this primary purpose. The examined studies have shown that the choice of physiotherapeutic practices to reduce spasticity was not influenced by disease etiology. Moreover, the same techniques and methods were applied in pediatric and adult patients, regardless of diagnosis. Accident rate at floorball players with previous experience with ice hockey

Title: Accident rate at floorball players with previous experience with ice hockey. Objectives: To determine whether there is an increased rate of injuries of ankle joint at floorball players with previous experience with ice hockey than at floorball players without this experience. To evaluate the impact of the operation of ice hockey, the sport with permanently fixed foot in the skate, at followed up playing of floorball at the top level. Methology: For the purposes of this thesis was compiled multiple-standard questionnaire - questionnaire form. The research sample consisted of 100 probands - the first group of 25 probands top floorball players who have played at least 5 years of ice hockey at the highest level, the second group 25 floorball extra-league players, third group of 25 professional ice hockey players. Last fourth group consisted of 25 probands athletes meeting the conditions of at least 3 times a week training and 1 championship match - non focus on ice hockey and floorball. The resulting data were first analyzed and clearly captured in tables in Microsoft Office Word 2003. Evaluation of the effect of conservative approach in the treatment of scoliosis

Title: Evaluation of the effect of conservative approach in the treatment of scoliosis Objective : The purpose of this thesis is to summarize scoliosis issue, natural history, causes, consequences and effectiveness of conservative therapy. Based on the critical literature review there was an intention to evaluate effects of physiotherapy intervention in the treatment of scoliosis and compare individual physical therapy approaches. Methods: This thesis is a descriptive analysis based on a literature review. Results: Based on the research paper only twelve articles met our criteria that address the effect of exercise to influence scoliosis and its consequences. The most commonly used conservative approaches included: Schroth concept, FITS, SEAS, SIR, Klapp-Cotrell concept, Vojta method, program of active self- correction and task- oriented exercise, forward head corrective exercise program, MedX Rotary Torso Machine and LTX 3000. Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to obtain academic findings about stroke concerning anatomy, pathology, therapetuic approaches and methods which can be utilised in cases of stroke. The specific part focuses on the therapeutic care of a patient after hemorragic stroke which was taken during a month practice at Regional hospital Kladno Spa Summary: The theory of the thesis discusses anatomy and pathology of human brain in terms of strokes. There is a brief mention of ischemic strokes and a detailed elaboration on hemorraghic strokes. Furthemore, the same part of the thesis epitomizes the risk factors and diagnosis of strokes. There is also a detailed treatise on the physioterapeutic care of stroke. The practice of the thesis introduces a case study of physioterapy treatment of a patient after hemoragic stroke with left hemiparesis. The general part includes a description of the anatomy and kinesiology of the lower limb. Furthermore, It present information relating to amputations, the causes of their formation, complications, prosthetics and rehabilitation from the perspective of physiotherapy. The special part includes a casuistry of a patient treated for left-sided transfemoral amputation, which includes entrance examination, the course of therapy, final examination and evaluation of the effect of treatment.

This bachelor thesis deals with ischemic stroke. It has two parts. General part consists of anatomy and physiology of brain vessels and risk factors of stroke. Continues with theory concerning ischemic stroke, its pathogenesis, pathophysiology, clinical symptoms, classification, diagnostics and treatment. Mentioned is also hemorrhagic stroke and subarachnoid hemorrhage . The end of this part contains neurorehabilitation. Special is aimed on a case study of a patient with diagnosis of ischemic stroke. Consists of complex kinesiology examination, process of therapy and overall evaluation. This part was based on clinical practice in Oblastní nemovnice Kladno, in term from 6.1. till 31.1. 2014.

CASE STUDY OF PHYSIOTHERAPY TREATMENT OF A PATIENT AFTER STROKE Objectives: Theoretical analysis of after stroke anamnesis and elaboration of physiotherapy procedures. Methods: This bachelor thesis was done with the patient's consent within practice at Regional hospital Kladno at the Rehabilitation Department from January 6th to January 31st 2014. The thesis is divided into two main parts - theoretical and special part. The theoretical part includes basic characteristics of the illness, ethiopathogenesis, incidence, diagnostics, treatment and options of physiotherapy methods. The special part contains the after stroke patient's case concept, processes and the effects of his therapy. Results: Patient's condition, daily activities, movements, spatial orientation, muscular strength and physical condition have improved after the therapy. Title: Case study of the physiotherapy treatment of a patient after stroke with left hemiparesis. Aims: The aim of this thesis was to gain theoretical knowledge about stroke and the development of case study of a patient after ischemic stroke with left hemiparesis. Summary: This bachelor thesis deals with the stroke. The thesis consists of two parts. In the general section is described the definition of stroke, anatomy of the blood supply of the brain and classification of the stroke. The following chapters solve directly the ischemic stroke, its pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, epidemiology and treatment. The conclusion of this part is devoted to comprehensive rehabilitative care for patients after stroke, including a description of appropriate physiotherapy techniques. The special part is about a case study of the physiotherapy care of the patient after stroke with left hemiparesis. This part contains a complete kinesiology analysis, course of treatment and final evaluation. Data for processing the special part were obtained in the term 5. - 30. 1. 2015 during the clinical practise in Oblastní nemocnici Kladno, a.s.
