The bachelor thesis "Decubitus as an adverse event" deals with the comparison of the modified Norton scale and the Braden scale. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the frequency of decubitus in the Central Military Hospital in Prague. The aim of the work was to compare the accuracy of both scales. Another aim of the work was to monitor the preventive measures introduced. Part of the work was to determine and describe the frequency of occurrence of decubitus in the selected medical facility. The theoretical part of the thesis explained the basic definitions and essential concepts related to decubitus, adverse events and departmental safety objectives. The empirical part contains the results of the actual research investigation and its comparison with the results of studies focusing on similar topics. Method: a mixed methods research design was chosen. Results: 48.48% of the respondents rated the risk of decubitus according to both scales in agreement. In 51.52 % respondents the evaluation according to one scale did not correspond to the evaluation according to the other scale. The Braden scale had a sensitivity of 100% and specificity of 59%. The Norton scale also had a sensitivity of 100%, but a significantly lower specificity of 3%. Of the preventive measures used, skin care, pain assessment, and...
Educational material for children before cardiac surgery

Quality education of children before hospitalization is an important factor in reducing their stress from hospitalization and hospital environment. This bachelor thesis on "Educational material for children before cardiac surgery" discusses in more detail about congenital heart defects and the effect of hospitalization on the child in the theoretical part. In the empirical part, the results of quantitative research, their evaluation and graphical processing in Microsoft Excel including statistical hypotheses are written. The research method was a questionnaire survey at the inpatient ward of the Children's Cardiac Centre of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine and Motol University Hospital. The aim of the study was to determine the quality of education of children before hospitalization by parents and on the basis of our own research and the preferences found to create a proposal of educational material for the given age group, which could be used for practice. As a result, the proposal came out in the form of a book with a story. This preferred educational material was chosen by more than half of the parents. In conclusion, this paper discusses the evaluation of the findings and highlights the assumption of most parents that the quality of their children's education is sufficient, but that age-appropriate...

Conclusion: The questionnaire survey shows that there is a link between the age group of nurses and the frequency of education...
Influence of Religiosity on Quality of Life of patients with Epilepsy
Kolská, Marta ; Javůrková, Alena (advisor) ; Nikodemová, Hana (referee)
Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to investigate how the variables Locus of Control, God Locus of Health Control and religiosity predict the quality of life of patients with epilepsy and whether these variables differ in prevalence in a healthy control group. Methods: The research group consisted of 275 patients with epilepsy examined within the neuropsychological Centre for the Treatment of Epilepsy of the Department of Neurology, 2nd Medical Faculty and Motol University Hospital. The comparison group consisted of a group of 182 healthy respondents. Respondents were interviewed using WAIS-III, EPQ R abbreviated version, BDI-II, VAS, QOLIE-89 (version 1.0) and GLHC. The t-test and the Mann-Whitney test were used to determine differences between groups. Contingency tables were used for discrete quantities. The relationship between the variables was demonstrated by Spearman's correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression. The research was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Motol University Hospital. Results: The resulting model of stepwise linear regression prediction of the Mean score showed that by including the variables Neuroticism HS and GLHC˃6 in the overall model, these significant variables can explain 21.44 % variability of Locus of control (R2=0.2144). It was also found...
