Nováková, Michaela ; Tůmová, Lenka (advisor) ; Kubáč, David (referee)
Charles University Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmacognosy Candidate Mgr. Michaela Nováková Supervisor doc. PharmDr. Lenka Tůmová, Ph.D. Co-supervisor Dr. José Carlos Cheel Horna, Ph.D. Title of PharmDr. Thesis: Isolation and biological activity of the pigment myxoxanthophyll from microalgae Global demand for natural pigments has increased in the past few years. Myxoxanthophyll, a glycosylated monocyclic carotenoid, is a pigment that occurs naturally in cyanobacteria but any scalable isolation process has not yet been developed to obtain it from its natural source. In this study, myxoxanthophyll was isolated from unicellular cyanobacterium Synechocystis salina (S. salina) using high performance countercurrent chromatography (HPCCC), where the lower phase of the biphasic solvent system composed of n-heptane-ethanol-water (2:4:4, v/v/v) was used as a mobile phase, whereas its upper phase was the stationary phase. For the HPCCC isolation, a multi-injection method was developed, and four consecutive sample injections (70 mg per each) were performed using 20 mg of myxoxanthophyll, which was finally purified with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Overall, a final myxoxanthophyll yield of 15 mg (98% purity) was obtained. The target pigment showed weak antioxidant and...
Arbitration clauses in cunsumer affairs with impact on execution proceeding
Nováková, Michaela ; Pohl, Tomáš (advisor) ; Smolík, Petr (referee)
Arbitration clauses in cunsumer affairs with impact on execution proceeding Abstract Arbitration is one of the forms of alternative dispute resolution. The arbitration institute is not a novice in the area of law. Its foundations can be seen from ancient times. However, today's legal regulation of arbitration can be observed since the first half of the 19th century. The essence of the arbitration procedure is to delegate the hearing and decision-making of certain disputes to the jurisdiction of the courts, to the arbitrator. The arbitrator then issues an arbitration award, which may be relied upon in the proceedings in which he was issued as an enforcement or enforceable title. In the legal order of the Czech Republic we find the primary regulation of the arbitration procedure in Act No. 216/1994 Sb. By passing this Act, the arbitration procedure was extended to national disputes. As a result of arbitration proceedings, disputes arising from consumer contracts could also be resolved. However, the method of resolving disputes between consumers and entrepreneurs has proved to be a widely used institute, even when overused and misused. The situation was so extreme that the lawmaker had to come up with a bill amendment to strengthen consumer protection in arbitration. Not only the legislative power, but also...

Nováková, Michaela ; Čeňková, Jana (advisor) ; Osvaldová, Barbora (referee)
In my bachelor thesis on "Karel Čapek and his ‚quiet voice' at the time of danger for democracy" I will analyze his journalistic texts published between 1935-1938 in the journal Lidové Noviny, České slovo and the magazine Přítomnost. I'll be watching Čapek's development in specific years while noticing how his journalistic work was transforming with the approaching year 1938. Particularly, I will watch Čapek's activities related to the fight to save democracy in Czechoslovakia during the gradual expansionof fascism. To better understand the significance of the texts I give the socio-historical background as well. The aim of the work is mainly to find out how the Čapek's literary works reflected the historical events of that time and if Čapek's "silentvoice" was sufficient warning, concise and striking. This work does not deal comprehensively Čapek'swork, it only selects the most significant texts of a certain period.

Nováková, Michaela ; Štangová, Věra (advisor) ; Tomšej, Jakub (referee)
Legal action aimed at terminating the employment relationship The topic of the submitted diploma thesis is individual legal proceedings aimed at the termination of employment. This is a crucial area of labor law, because it is through these legal acts that the relationship between the employee and the employer is terminated, and also because it affects each of us at least once in our lives. The purpose of the thesis is to give a comprehensive interpretation of these legal proceedings with reference to their peculiarities and problems. To achieve this purpose, the amendment to the Labor Code itself was used, supplemented by professional literature and case law. In addition to the introduction and conclusion, the thesis is divided into eight chapters which mainly deal with individual untying legal proceedings. In the introduction I explain the reasons behind the choice of the topic of this thesis. I also present its structure, which is then supplemented with a brief description of the content of individual chapters. The first chapter presents a general introduction to labor law as a separate branch of law, also dealing with its functions and providing a brief overview of its historical development. The second chapter is divided into three subchapters, which in general deal with legal proceedings,...
