Development of reading in students with intellectual disability

The diploma thesis Development of reading in students with intellectual disability is a special pedagogical topic that extends to all areas of the life of a person with an intellectual disability. The theoretical part offers an insight into the issue of reading and reading interests among students with intellectual disabilities, the area of reading and reading interests, pre-reading is brought up, teaching reading methods, supporting reading and reading interests, basic information about a person with moderate and severe intellectual disabilities and education of persons with intellectual disabilities. The research part is prepared on the basis of qualitative research. The main method of qualitative research was semi-structured interviews, supplemented by unstructured participant observation. Work methods with pupils with intellectual disabilities in special elementary schools in Zlínský Region

This diploma thesis deals with work methods that are used in the education of pupils with intellectual disabilities. The aim of the thesis is to find out how teachers work with pupils with intellectual disabilities in special primary schools in the Zlín region. In the mentioned theoretical starting points, intellectual disability is first defined, the educational process and its specifics in the special primary school is mentioned, as well as the work methods that are used in the education of pupils in the special primary school. Information for the qualitative research was obtained using semi-structured interviews, conducted with twelve special education teachers. The obtained data were analyzed using a grounded theory design and open coding technique. The research revealed that special education teachers use a huge number of different teaching aids. They don't use textbooks much, and if they do, then those from Parta, Septima, Taktik and Nová škola publishing houses. In special primary schools in the Zlín region, they have a Snoezelen room, perform Basal Stimulation and some also provide individual speech therapy. Causes Of unfinished secondary school studies of socialy disadvantaged female students

The topic of this thesis is the causes of non-completion of secondary school studies of socially disadvantaged students. The focus is on mapping the causes of three major areas that contribute to the dropout of female students with social disadvantages, namely school, family and leisure time. The thesis is devided in five main chapters, of which the first two chapters are theoretical, while the following chapters are devoted to the empirical part. The first chapter focuses on secondary education and selected specifics of adolescence. This chapter describes the adolescence period, secondary education and subsequently academic failure. The second chapter is devoted to the specificities of education of pupils with social disadvantages, focusing on the causes and problem areas of social exclusion and on systemic support for pupils with social disadvantages. The formation of methodology in low threshold club for children and young people

The topic of the thesis is the formation of methodology in a low threshold club for children and young people. The work is divided into six chapters, the first four of which are devoted to theory. The first chapter deals with the general description of low threshold institutions, their concepts, goals, target group and history. The second chapter describes the quality standards of Social Services, which, according to the content of information, are divided into three types - procedural, personal and operational. The next chapter describes concepts such as social disadvantage, social exclusion or socially excluded location and also shows the ethnic minority and the traditional Roma family. The fourth chapter is devoted to social service workers, social workers and special educators in the social service. The research part of the thesis deals with the process of creating a methodological document in a low-threshold institution for children and youth in Šluknov. Support of the education of socially disadvantaged Roma pupils in a selected primary school

This thesis focuses on the issue of support strategies used for socially disadvantaged Romani pupils in a selected primary school. In the theoretical part, it defines the basic concept of social disadvantage, the term socially disadvantaged pupil, and the reasons for educational failure due to social disadvantage. It introduces the fundamental manifestations of social disadvantage and the barriers it creates in the educational process. The thesis further specifies the issue of the Romani ethnicity, provides a brief history of the Roma people, describes the specifics of Romani families, the upbringing of children, and the position of individual family members. It then addresses the issue of Roma education and the support system. In the context of the thesis topic, it describes the support strategies used in the education of socially disadvantaged Romani pupils. This bachelor thesis is focused on performing in a band The Tap Tap and its value in the life of a person with a physical disability. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The first chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to the definition of physical disability. It describes basic terminology, and division of movement disorders and introduces social-psychological aspects of the physical disability. The second chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to the social inclusion of people with a physical disability. It describes models of approaches to people with disability, and the impact of physical disability on family, partnership, sexuality, and employment.
