Wind erosion in southeast Moravia

This bachelor thesis is about wind erosion in southeast Moravia. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the problems about erosion and her division. Next, there is described wind erosion, its causes, assessment of erodability and safety measures. In the practical part is inspected effect of low temperatures on breakdown of soil aggregates of heavy soils collected from experimental areas. Breakdown of soil aggregates is simulated by freeze-thawing and freeze-drying process. For examined soil samples is determined proneness to wind erosion by boundary of erodability.

Readiness of individual members of selected fire protection units for managing industrial chemical accidents

This bachelor thesis offers an analysis and evaluation of the knowledge of individual members of selected fire departments when responding to industrial chemical accidents. Since this issue affects most of the Czech Republic, the thesis is not focused on any particular region. The theoretical part provides an introduction to the issue. First of all, it deals with chemical accidents in general, their causes and manifestations, followed by the toxicology of selected industrial chemicals and a simple list of the provisions of Act No. 224/2015 Coll., on the prevention of major accidents. The subsequent passage of the theoretical part concerns fire departments, primarily those targeted in the practical part of the work. This presented here are their activities during various types of responses, in particular to chemical accidents. Also included is a list of the activities of departments set up to respond to accidents with hazardous substances. The last part of the theory talks about the basics of physical protection against chemicals and decontamination. The aim of the thesis is to compare the results of the research with general procedures and requirements. The practical part of this bachelor thesis consists of the research itself and a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire is mainly designed to map out the knowledge of the individual respondents. The questions are mainly based on the Fire Fighting Code of the fire departments and the related Performance Regulations of corporate fire departments, volunteer municipal fire departments and volunteer fire brigades of companies. The questions were chosen to cover what I consider to be the core issues. The results of the research have been presented graphically and all questions discussed individually.

Information and experience of the adult population with cannabis as a drug and as a medicine.

The title of my diploma thesis is "Awareness and experience of the adult population with cannabis as a drug and as a medicine". It is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part includes two areas. The first one is related to cannabis as a drug. Therefore, it contains chapters on cannabis itself, its effects, users and the possible effects that could occur if used more frequently. Especially about the effects on the mental and physical conditions of the organism. The second area is focused on the aspects of treatment. How is cannabis used in the treatment, in what diseases it brings relief and how is the doctor's relationship to cannabis in the Czech Republic. It also discusses the process of its legalization. The practical part reveals the experience and awareness of adult respondents about cannabis as a drug and also their awareness of therapeutic effects. I obtained the data through a quantitative method. The anonymous questionnaire used for obtaining the information, is supplemented by hypotheses, which will be statistically evaluated in the results chapter.

Awareness of the public of dangerous substances in cosmetic

The title of my diploma thesis is "Awareness of the public of dangerous substances in cosmetic". It is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, I focused on the history, general composition of cosmetic products and dangerous substances it contains. Considering the current trends of society I focused especially on decorative cosmetics. Because I have a negative experience with sunscreens, I concentrated on that issue in the last chapter of the theoretical part. The practical part is focused on the public's knowledge of dangerous substances in cosmetic products. The anonymous questionnaire was educative, because I assumed that many respondents would not inspect components contained in their cosmetic products. I made brief descriptions of the dangerous substances so respondents could get the most important information on this issue.

Journalists on Twitter: do they follow traditional norms or new standards?

The thesis aims to examine the way the Czech journalists use the social network Twitter. The thesis concentreates on the difference between the traditional norms under which journalists behave, the roles they play, and how they use Twitter. Firstly, the tweets where divided into the categories based on what kind of tweet it was. The thesis analysed the tweets one by one in the quantitative part, it concentrated on its content, used language and other special characters which could be photos, videos, emojis and other. The thesis showed that the journalists on Twitter behave differently than professional norms sets and that their roles differ. They become gatewatchers instead of gatekeepers and the journalists tend to comment on the topics. They also become the promoters of their work.

Study of somatic traits of linear proporcionality in boys at the age of 11 to 14 years.

This study brings the information on linear body proportionality of pubescent boys. The body linear proportionality was validated by using the SD scores gained from the measured data and by validating the individual proportionality with help of natural Percal indices. Each child was considered according to his biological maturity by using KEI index. For rating of the growth of individual and his proportionality, the compliance of KEI index and the difference of height and chronological age were validated. The considering of those biological trends made it possible to separate the individuals with possible physiological variant of normal growth from the individuals with suspective growth pathology. The set included 346 boys in the age of 10-14 years, after replacing of disproportional individuals from the study. For evaluation of changes in the linear body proportionality the linear somatic markers with high degree of accuracy and reliability of measurement were chosen and the descriptional statistics were set to these parameters and to their indices. Comparing with reference sets the changes in proportional relations in year and half-year cathegories were described. New Concepts and Models of Care in Residential Facilities for Elderly

Diploma thesis on the topic of New concepts and models of care for seniors in social service residential facilities is divided into theoretical and practical part. The initial three chapters are focused on problems of old age and ageing, needs of retired clients of social service residential facilities and concepts of long-term care for the elderly people in the Czech Republic. The fourth chapter forms a basic for this work. It describes selected approaches and models of the care that were applied mainly in western European countries and are being adopted by some of residential facilities in our country. The practical part of the thesis consists in quantitative research among social workers and staff of registered residential facilities. The aim of the questionnaire survey was to determine knowledge level of the individual concepts and models of care among employees and to find out to which extent the selected facilities apply new concepts and models in their everyday life. Because these new concepts and models emphasize an individual approach and constant improvement their application is considered a viral part of care for clients of old age. Shared custody and its influence on a child's success in primary school

This diploma thesis deals with the problem of shared custody of children at primary school in relation to their school success. The issue is viewed from the perspective of primary school teachers and from the perspective of a school psychologist. The theoretical part deals with a child at primary school and also with child, who has special educational needs. It also deals with family, parental responsibility, discusses divorce, shared custody, school success and failure. The empirical part, through empirical research, aims to answer the question: "How does shared custody affect the school success of a child at primary school?"It examines the manifestations of children in shared custody, it looks for specific causes of problems of these children or specific factors ensuring smooth course of shared custody. It collects recommendations from teachers and school psychologist on how to work with and help these children. It also provides recommendations on who to work with and how - including cooperation with parents. It shows the level of teachers' awareness of this issue and their personal views on the issue.
