Thermal Mass Flowmeter
Mlčoch, Albert ; Kunz, Jan (referee) ; Beneš, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with verification of the mathematical model of a thermoanemometric sensor of water flow according to the King's equation. The model and measuring apparatus are briefly described. The paper deals mainly with measurement and its evaluation. The model is gradually modified depending on the measured data. The measurement evaluation summarizes the current knowledge and measurement accuracy of a modified sensor model. Another part of this paper deals with the simulation of observed processes in COMSOL Multiphysics simulation software, how this software works and its outcomes. In the final part of this paper, the electronic circuit of the sensor is designed.
Thermal Mass Flowmeter
Mlčoch, Albert ; Kunz, Jan (referee) ; Beneš, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design of a mathematical model and practical implementation of a flowmeter based on the thermal principle. The range of the proposed flowmeter is from units of kilograms per hour to lower hundreds of kilograms per hour. The design of the flowmeter is non-invasive to the flow channel, the heating element is located outside the pipe. In this paper, the flowmeter parameters are identified and a temperature regulator is proposed. Measurements are made on a test bench. The results of the measurements are discussed. Modifications to the existing hardware are suggested.
Thermoanemometric flow sensor control using pulse width modulation
Mlčoch, Albert ; Beneš, Petr
PWM control of the heated element in constant temperature difference mode was designed and tested for the thermal flowmeter. The reason for using this solution is to extend the operating range and reduce the power losses of the control elements. The proposed solution allows linearization and adjustment of the operating point to the desired flow range and fluid temperature without any change in the wiring or electronics. The functionality of this solution was demonstrated over a range of 80 kg/h with a repeatability of 2 %.

Electric Furnace
Mlčoch, Albert
This work is about practical use of electric and electronics equipment for a home metalworking workroom. The main result is an electric furnace regulated by Arduino. It is suitable for warming metals as subsequent hardening, tempering and other processing. For metals with a low melting point, it could be used as a melting furnace. The furnace is powered from a home power line.
