Historical walk around the town Dačice (school project)

The diploma thesis is about the preparation, implementation and feedback of a school project. The first part is focused on the territory, regional history and its application in teaching. The following topic introduces the history of town Da ice, the most important monuments and personages of this town. The main part of the diploma thesis describes several-day project lessons carried out directly in the town and its data processing in connection with next utilization of the beginning project for the school, next classes, whole town and last but not least territory. The main task of the diploma thesis has been fulfilled. I have created the methodical manual for teachers from primary and secondary schools how to make an excursion through the town (or city).
History textbooks fifties and sixties of the twentieth century

The aim of the analysis is to evaluate the history books and text difficulty level of didactic facilities and textbooks mutual assessment of the level of the fifties and sixties. Intended for history teaching in each successive year of the curriculum are published every year. Their contents range of topics vary. In the early fifties was the curriculum, topics with political and ideological content. Omitted topics have been considered less important. The highest number of discarded political and ideological issues was in 1957 after the release of political society. Critical analysis were subjected to a curriculum from the fifties and sixties in the first and second chapters. The third chapter is devoted to the analysis of syntactic and semantic complexity of the textbooks and evaluates the performance of text for teaching. It also monitors didactic facilities of textbooks. This chapter is crucial for mutual comparison of textbooks. It is the most important criterion for assessing the quality of textbooks. Projekt teaching:The Greatest Czech man according to pupils of 9th in elementary school

The main focus of the work is to search for the greatest Czech, according to opinion of the 9th grade students. Other goal was to create and apply a project, through which we gathered information. Another goal was to find out if the students are interested in these persons out of the school education. Two methods were used to fulfil these goals - a survey and a project. The results of survey are: 1st place - Charles Fourth, 2nd place - Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk and 3rd place - Václav Havel. The survey also showed that students are in mostly interested in these persons. If they do, they use internet and documentary movies as main sources of information rather than specialised literature. The final reflection of the project indicates that students liked it and considered it as interesting.
Rites of passage as a theme in the history textbooks

The intention of the Diploma thesis Rites of passage as a theme in the history textbooks is analyze the history textbooks of upper primary school in terms of rites of passage. This practical part is preceded by general introduction to the issue of rituals and rites of passage. The following is a discussion of selected rites of passage, which are weddings and funerals. Selected rites of passage determine the direction which is going analysis itself textbooks. In general I am interested in themes of weddings, funerals and all other facts that are associated with the issue in analyzing textbooks. Then I find out, how and what extent selected rites of passage are presented to pupils. So that pupils gain the most information from the particular way in view of the rites of passage, I deal also possibilities to enrich a certain representation of ritual. The conclusion summarizes the main reasons for the changes of rites of passage that appear in the history books for upper primary school. Industrial Revolution: efficiency of the project teaching compared to lecture method

The thesis is aimed at two different teaching methods, which are compared not only from the viewpoint of their positives and negatives, but also their effectiveness is valuated. One thematic unit from the history curriculum at lower-secondary school is chosen and two different methods are applied, one is based on lecture method, the other one involves project teaching. The effectiveness of the methods is ascertained on the basis of applying these methods in two teaching classes of elementary school. The common thematic unit is Industrial Revolution. According to the number of points every pupil achieves in the didactical test, the class with project teaching turned out better, however the difference was not so prominent. Important is that the effectiveness of both methods cannot be measured based only on number of obtained points. For this reason the author uses another evaluation of methods based on the Bloom's Taxonomy of educational objectives. By analysing the pupil's answers it was ascertained, that the pupils using the project teaching achieved (apart from factual knowledge) also the procedural and conceptual knowledge, which was found in their answer formulations. The thesis objective is a complex survey of the situation related to the modern history and current history education at grammar schools and specialized secondary/high schools in the Czech Republic. This thesis provides a thorough response to the following questions: Do the teachers at Czech secondary/high schools teach modern history until 1989 or not? Do they reflect the historical period after 1989 and where do they finish? What student's books are used by teachers? What student's books are used by students? What are the conditions for the student's book composition set by the Czech education policy. The use of visual aids in history lessons

Cílem této práce je zjistit, zda a za jakých podmínek má používání ucebních pomucek vliv na efektivitu výuky dejepisu. Dejepis jako vyucovací predmet má charakter prevážne slovního vyucování a podle mého názoru správné používaní ruzného druhu vyucovacích pomucek, predevším vizuálních pomucek, prispeje efektivneji k dosažení cílu ve vyucování a zároven k intenzivnejšímu osvojení príslušných klícových kompetencí u žáku. Nejsem v žádném prípade príznivcem inovace za každou cenu, každá vizuální pomucka musí být zaclenena do vyucování smysluplne, a proto má práce zahrnuje teoretickou i praktickou cást. Chci v této práci nabídnout takové možnosti, které povedou k efektivnímu využití ruzného druhu pomucek a ke zkvalitnení výuky dejepisu a to na 2. stupni základní školy (resp. i na nižším gymnáziu) a na vyšším stupni gymnázia.
Comparison of textbooks of subject history at secondary school in France and Czech Republic

Motivem sepsání diplomové práce zaměřené na porovnání učebnic domácí a zahraniční provenience je osobní zájem o srovnání různých forem a obsahů vzdělávání ve světě. Při příležitosti seznámení se s francouzským školstvím na francouzském lyceu v Praze, r výukou dějepisu na francouzských školách a používanými učebnicemi mě ihned napadlo využít své jazykové znalosti pro jejich srovnání s učebnicemi českými. Díky studijnímu pobytu v rámci mezinárodního programu Erasmus na francouzské universitě ve městě Perpignan jsem získala přístup velkému množství současných francouzských učebnic, které jsem mohla studovat.
Comparison of selected Czech and German High school textbooks

The topic of the presented thesis is a comparison of selected contemporary Czech and German history textbooks, designed for high schools. It analyzes the Czech and the German high school system, with a focus on the teaching history. It compares the structure of the textbooks, verbal and visual content, control methods and the adoption process of the subject matter.
