Reconstruction of a cultural house in Zlobice
Cheryn, Denis ; Mikeš, Stanislav (referee) ; Guzdek, Adam (advisor) ; Šuhajda, Karel (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is the reconstruction, with an emphasis on preserving its original character, of a former inn in the village of Zlobice in the Kroměříž region. The project is based on the subject AG034 - Studio of Architectural Design IV. - Restoration of Monuments. The cultural house was built in the 1920s. Originally it had only the 1st floor and served as a local inn. Later, the building was rebuilt into a two-storey social house. At the turn of the 20th and 21st century, a part with social facilities and an apartment for the housekeeper was added to the building. During this period, the 2nd floor was also rebuilt and three apartments were built here, one of which is original and in very good condition. Most of the window and door panels are preserved in the house. They are also preserved and are valuable floors made of concrete tiles and terrazzo. The extension, which was added to the building in the 1990s, is disruptive and suitable for a complete reconstruction. The aim of the proposal is to renovate the existing cultural house, which is supplemented by an extension in which the technical background of the municipality and the new building of the municipal office are located. Furthermore, the picnic area, which is rebuilt into a place suitable for feasts and other social events. Emphasis was placed on the best possible use of the land, the completion of the courtyard according to the structure of the village and the logical arrangement of individual operations. The forecourt of the social house could serve as a village square, as the municipality currently lacks this public space. The idea was to sensitively restore the historic part of the building, which houses a ballroom, a hall, a bar with facilities, a multi-purpose room, a talking room and the second floor of this building consists of two apartments. Part of the extension and the building of the municipal office is set into the slope, which enabled the use of a green counter roof i
Reconstruction of Medov court Hermanuv Mestec
Grünwald, Jakub ; Mikeš, Stanislav (referee) ; Guzdek, Adam (advisor) ; Kalousek, Lubor (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor's thesis is to draw up the project documentation for the building permit and also to make parts of the documentation for the execution of the construction. The project proceeds from the architectonic study which was worked out during the summer semester in 2019 in pursuance of the subject AG035 Architectural design studio V.- Monument restoration. The main topic of the study is an overall reconstruction of the homestead and finding a new functional use of the listed building. The assigned parcel of land is situated in the Masaryk's square in Heřmanův Městec. The building historical research states a proof of the existence of the homestead already in 1591. The complicated constructional history of the object is in accordance with its function to provide a farming, dwelling and administrative base for the adjoining, aristocratic mansion. Towards the end of the 18 century this building went through the classicism transformation which has been defining its external appearance up to now. These days the building is mostly used as accommodation for a socially lower class which resulted in the deterioration of its technical state. This piteous situation more and more endangers the protected values of the listed building. The primary aim was to find the right concept with respect to the functional use of the solved object. The whole effort was aimed to create such a functional content which would breath life to the Medov's homestead and will open its door to the inhabitants as well as visitors. In the object there are situated premises that will not directly endanger or degrade the listed building by any their activities. These premises will make a maximal use of the homestead possible in the course of all day. Last but not least I also put an emphasis on the economic aspect of the building by placing restaurants, small shops and an administrative center in order to generate a certain financial benefit for the town.
Image Segmentation
Mikeš, Stanislav
Image segmentation is a fundamental part in low level computer vision processing. It has an essential influence on the subsequent higher level visual scene interpretation for a wide range of applications. Unsupervised image segmentation is an ill-defined problem and thus cannot be optimally solved in general. Several novel unsupervised multispectral image segmentation methods based on the underlaying random field texture models (GMRF, 2D/3D CAR) were developed. These segmenters use efficient data representations that allow an analytical solutions and thus the segmentation algorithm is much faster in comparison to methods based on MCMC. All segmenters were extensively compared with the alternative state- of-the-art segmenters with very good results. The MW3AR segmenter scored as one of the best available. The cluster validation problem was solved by a modified EM algorithm. Two multiple resolution segmenters were designed as a combination of a set of single segmenters. To tackle a realistic variable lighting in images, the illumination invariant features were derived and the illumination invariant segmenter was developed. For the proper evaluation of segmentation results and ranking of algorithms, a unique web-based texture segmentation benchmark was proposed and implemented. It was used for comprehensive...
Reconstruction of the Town Hall in Bojkovice
Zharova, Kseniia ; Mikeš, Stanislav (referee) ; Guzdek, Adam (advisor) ; Struhala, Karel (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor thesis was the reconstruction and reconstruction of the Bojkovice Municipal Office. The municipal office building is located in the historical center of Bojkovice, at the crossroads of Sušilova and Komenského streets. From the south side, the areal adjacent to the train platform. The building itself is not a cultural monument, but in this work we consider that it is protected and is considered in terms of cultural values. The building consists of several parts of different ages, these parts are interconnected. Original oldest building - former municipal inn Leopold Bůchler, built in 1928. During the 20th century the first extension was built - from the eastern part of the building. In the 1980s, the second extension was built - the latest courtyard wing. The whole building with all the extensions creates a feeling of complexity, cramped space. Different height levels cause difficult interconnection between parts of the building. Construction of newer courtyard extensions flow, spaces in this part are currently not used. During the construction of the second extension, the truss structures were connected - the oldest building lost its historical value. The aim of my design was to give preference to the original object - to purify the structures suppressing the historical appearance, to add light and air. The solution was the removal of newer extensions. The historic building will be completely restored to its original form according to historical photographs: a truss, a Czech-style roofing, wooden lining windows, cornices and window frames. The newly designed buildings will be two-storeyed, the historic building will remain higher so it will be more massive. Historical and new parts will be differentiated in character and color - new buildings will be more modern in appearance, discreetly white using wooden elements on the facade, the original building - will be as close as possible to its historical appearance, will be in darker shades
Reconstruction of the Pohorelec at the JAMU Stage Design Studio
Kaděrková, Erika ; Mikeš, Stanislav (referee) ; Guzdek, Adam (advisor) ; Lavický, Miloš (advisor)
This thesis offers the complete documentation for the building permit and partial documentation for the construction work. It is based on an architectural plan and it is the outcome of AG35 (Architectural Design Studio 5) course. The two objectives of this study are the renovation of the former building of the Prosecutor General´s Office in Kobližná Street 22, that can be found in Brno city centre near Liberty Square (Náměstí svobody), and the suggestion about the new purpose of its usage. The renovation is possible under the condition that the ground plan of the building and partially also its exterior design should be preserved. To maintain the exterior design of this functionalist-style building I used e.g. the installation of new windows that are very similar to continuous windows. The interior of the building is completely altered and it is adapted to the new purpose of the building. I found inspiration in some of the original architectural elements, such as glass bricks or cast terazzo flooring. The building will serve as JAMU (Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno) headquarters, namely for Stage Setting and Lighting Design Studio and for the rectorate. The Stage Setting and Lighting Design Studio premises are designed in terms of mutifunctionality - with sliding walls we can change the room design and adapt them to different types of use. The two floors with the studios will be newly connected with suspended staircase. There will be a public café for on the ground floor. The makeover of the front garden is also a part of this thesis. There is a water element that can be used as a stage, a sitting and an additional greenery.
Reconstruction of Medov court Hermanuv Mestec
Kozhevnikova, Vlada ; Mikeš, Stanislav (referee) ; Guzdek, Adam (advisor) ; Kalousek, Lubor (advisor)
The aim of the thesis was to create documentation for building permit and a part of building design documentation. The topic of the studio work was to think about suitable use of listed building in historical center of Heřmanův Městec and to create an architectural study of monument restoration including a proposal for a new use. The intention was to propose new modern use for heritage-protected buildings and to fill it with economic advantageous functions. The main idea was to preserve the valuable historical elements and also to simplify the floor plan by removing the less valuable partitions and filling the holes. Internal partitions and ceiling structures in this wing will be removed. Therefore, the original roof will be reinforced by cross bars and also be protected against moisture. All mixed masonry of internal and external constructions will be preserved as well as a wooden roof over all the wings of the buildings. The solution of the exterior expression of the building is designed in the classicist style of the house. This is documented by partial photo documentation of the building and partly preserved elements on the facade of the building. The newest exterior adjustments and hole fillings have been removed. The color solution results from surveys of the original color scheme of the building. According to the requirements of the monument care, the tinsmith elements will be adjusted to the color of the plasters (yellow-creme tone) and the paints of downpipes and gutters made in red-brown color (color of old roof tiles), stucco plasters in gold-ocher tone. The starting point of the interior design is the restoration of the appearance of preserved monumental floors, stucco decorations, portals and openings. There was an effort to preserve the dominant spatial element, which is reflected in both floors - anfilada. The design accentuates historically valuable premises and construction of the building.

The aim of the bachelor thesis was to create documentation for building permit and part of building design documentation, based on architectural study prepared in subject AG036 - Architectural Design Studio V. Main content of the study was reconstruction of the former public prosecutor's office in Brno for the purposes Janáček´s Academy of Music and performing. Object is situated in the city centre, near the Malinovského square. Basic idea was to maintain the appearance of a late functionalist building with minimal changes in the exterior. It was appropiate to eliminate the consequences of the reconstruction of the 1970´s, which did not take into account of the building sufficient. The building's function has emerged from the thesis assignment. In my design, I have decided to work with all three of the required functions, namely: the café, the rectorate and the stage design institute of JAMU. The café and the gallery on the ground floor communicates with the people in the city and it is the meeting point for students, teachres and visitors. The Rectorate should serve as a set of offices, but it will also represent the university. Facilities for students of scenography takes into account that scenography is a branch of art associated with theater and thus has the mission to support the student development and creative thinking of people interested in this field.

The subject of the bachelor thesis is the proposal of rentable objects for small-size and middle-size businesses in Brno next to the Hněvkovského street in Brno-Komárov district. Proposal is solved on land as brownfield No. 1309. This time there is lot of economic activities moving on the outskirts of the city. This brings a number of problems and therefore is ideal solution to use brownfield, placed close to the city center. Main purpose was to create rentable spaces for different types of working sectors. Because of it objects has to be very flexible. On land is designed one big area, made by 3 production halls and one administrative building. Production halls are broken down into rentable cells, which can be arbitrarily combined to increase production. Administrative building is used to keep the whole area running. Also there are located free offices suitable for rent. Area is spread over an almost open space, so no wonder, that it is dominant feature in surrounding area. Simultaneously it respects surrounding development and does not make a disturbing impression.
Application of competition law on the markets with multisided platforms
Mikeš, Stanislav ; Černá, Stanislava (advisor) ; Horáček, Tomáš (referee)
1 Application of competition law on the markets with multisided platforms Abstract This rigorous thesis deals with a phenomenon of multisided platforms from the competition law perspective with a special focus on online multisided platforms. A notion of multisided platforms is explained in the thesis as well as its implications for the competition law. It is then examined how a market structure of a multisided platform influences a process of delimitation of a relevant market and assessment of a market power as two basic pillars of every competition law analysis. Theoretical findings are then confronted with a selected decision-making practice of EU and national competition authorities dealing with the phenomenon of multisided platforms. The thesis is structured into four main chapters. Chapter One contains a brief introduction into the subject-matter and sets out goals of this thesis which are to present the phenomenon of multisided platforms, explore its specifics and show how the methods of competition law analysis needs to be adapted in other to correctly assess all the specifics of the multisided platforms. Chapter Two presents various definitions of multisided platforms in academic literature. Potential categories of multisided platforms are presented in this chapter. The notion of multisided...
