Modeling of Respiratory System
Matoušek, Josef ; Roleček, Jiří (referee) ; Jiřík, Radovan (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with respiration system simulation. The main goal of this studies is to gain knowledge of how human respiration system works, along with selecting proper algorithms and their implementation into mathematic model. These models are realized by Simulink interface, which is part of Matlab environment. Similar models are used for medical technology research, especially for artificial ventilation of the lungs. There is a practical utilisation of these models suitable for illustration and respiration system's biological processes simulation, particularly combined model described in GUIDE graphic interface - also implemented in Matlab environment.
Financial resources for purchasing a residential property
Matoušek, Josef ; Bejšovec, Jaroslav (referee) ; Staněk, Roman (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with financial issues of immovable property acquision. Specifically, the residential property purchase using mortgage. In this context, the suitability of the collateral is being assessed on the basis of a risk assessment. Subsequently, I determine the collateral value of the property using the comparative valuation method. The practical part includes financial records of six banks and an analysis of a selected segment of the residential real estate market. The theoretical part deals with immovable property valuation, the definition of entities in the real estate market and mortgage mechanism. The main output of the practical part is offered mortgage loans comparison and selection the most favourable of them.

Epoché as a guideline to (inter)subjectivity. On the extent of Husserl's methodological influence on Levinas and Sartre
Matoušek, Josef ; Zika, Richard (advisor) ; De Santis, Daniele (referee) ; Švec, Ondřej (referee)
This doctoral thesis address two of the most prominent figures of 20th century continental philosophy in Emmanuel Levinas and Jean-Paul Sartre. Because the idea to critically compare them has indeed been realized before, and the available literature pertaining to this topic is already substantial, I selected a specific reduction of the comparison's scope. The means of this reduction was anchored in Kris Sealey's Moments of Disruption: Levinas, Sartre, and the Question of Transcendence, book from 2013 that brings into central focus their notions of transcendence. While building on her insights in many ways, I set my goal as to highlight the methodological aspects of their work, which I - in its overlapping - attribute in large part to their Husserlian influence. The lineage of arguments I explore begins from cogito and its methodological connotations (phenomenological reduction) to the nature of intentional consciousness developed by Levinas and Sartre, to finally their constitution of subjectivity and phenomenal description of the intersubjective encounter. Keywords: epoché; phenomenology; intersubjectivity; Edmund Husserl; Levinas and Sartre; Kris Sealey
Morality, Death and Prison. Kant's (Practical) Philosophy as an Interpretive Key to Sartre's Short Story the Wall
Sukdolák, Roman ; Matoušek, Josef (advisor) ; Zika, Richard (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to demonstrate the principles of the transcendental, practical and educational philosophy of Immanuel Kant in the context of The Wall, a short story written by Jean-Paul Sartre. Based on analysis of this prose work of Sartre's this study presents, given the issue of human mortality, Kant's theory of knowledge; with regard to the question of the possibility of freedom it explores Kant's doctrine of morality and, from the perspective of penitentiary-related matters, it discusses Kant's pedagogy and philosophy of education. This thesis thus draws on the backdrop of Sartre's selected story to demonstrate the basic frameworks of Kant's extensive philosophical system in connection with the topics of morality, death and imprisonment, as derived from Sartre's tale.

Pre-reflexive Self-relation of Consciousness and Constitution of the "Ego". Husserl and Sartre
Matoušek, Josef ; Novotný, Karel (advisor) ; Zika, Richard (referee)
The study concentrates on possible connection between phenomenological thought of Edmund Husserl and Jean-Paul Sartre by focusing on the way by which each of them frames pre-reflexive self-awareness of consciousness and its role in the process of constitution of the identity of the "Ego" as a subjective pole. Essential motivation derives from the effort of highlighting those moments of Husserl's thinking, which might have been or actually were a source of inspiration for Sartre and the formulation of these concepts in the early stages of his career. Subsequently, the quest is to clarify the scale of this inspiration and to shed some light on the question whether Sartre did not push his constructions over the boundaries of the scientific field set by Husserl. The study also incorporates several of Husserl's works which are in their conclusions tending to go against those presented as a possible source of Sartre's inspiration. That is done in order not to simplify the ambivalence of Husserl's work over the acceptable limit as well as to emphasize the nature of the investigations preferred by Sartre. These investigations lead in his work to the conceptualization of human existence as necessarily free, which is the conclusion of the presented study. Key words: Husserl, Sartre, consciousness,...
