The research was aimed at studying the effect of addition of an ionic liquid to two systems on a forming of a compound in a solid phase. Dissociation parameters were calculated for solid compounds.

In present time there is an increasing focus on ionic liquids. Solid-liquid equilibrium has been measured for ternary cuts in two organic systems. Systems were contained of carboxylic acid (acetic acid or propanoic acid) plus formamide plus ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-metylimidazolium chloride. Dissociation thermodynamics quantities were calculated for solid compounds from binary systems. Obtained estimation of the range of solid compounds was compared with experimental data.

In the propanoic acid (1) – formamide (2) system we found not only ed stable solid compound but also another one which arose at temperatures lower then liquidus temperature. The metastable solid compound was of a 1:1 type and we were able to register its change into a stable 1:2 compound with a temperature rise.

Supercooling accompanying formation of solid phase from liquid can lead to a metastable solid or glassy state. On the other hand it enables measuring liquid-liquid equilibria in a metastable region.

Solid – liquid equilibria of two binary systems were measured. Both systems, propanoic acid – trifluoroacetic acid and acetic acid – trichloroacetic acid, form a compound in the solid phase. Activity coefficients in the liquid phase were calculated and thermochemical data of the given compounds dissociation determined.
