Štefánková, Gabriela ; Majorová, Simona (advisor) ; Mahrová, Andrea (referee)
Title: Change of life quality in people undergoing the organized reduction program Objective: The work objective is to find out a possible change of life quality after undergoing a three-month reduction course which consists of aerobic exercise and circuit training, as well as group work under the guidance of an instructor. Methods: The data will be collected through the SF36 questionnaire. In the first phase of the project, the course participants will fill out a questionnaire which will be handed over to them before the commencement of the reduction program. In the second part of the project, the participants will fill out the same questionnaire after undergoing the course. Subsequently, I will analyse the results and assess the success rate of the program. Method - questionnaire survey. Results: After undergoing a three-month reduction program, there were positive changes in quality of life. The effectiveness of the influence of the three-month reduction programme is seen primarily in the improvement of the psychological side of the individual. I find the lack of this study in a small set of probands, so I do not consider the results could be generalised. Keywords: Obesity, physical activity, BMI, weight loss, methods of treating obesity

Title: Summary of the Most Common Injuries Occurring on Selected Bodies of Water in the Czech Republic Objectives: The main focus of this thesis is to find out the most frequent injuries that occur on open water, including Lipno, Orlík and Slapy lakes. Methods: In this thesis I used a quantitative method of data collection, based on the documentation obtained from the Water Rescue Service website. I retrospectively obtained the total number of interventions, the number and types of accidents and the causes of accidents on selected locations in 2017. I subsequently visualized these in charts. Results: I found, that there were a total of 66 injuries registered in this reporting period. Men were injured more frequently than women however, children were the largest group at risk, due to the incidences of drowning. It was also confirmed that the most common types of injuries were wounds. In July, the accident rate was really low due to a smaller number of a campers at water reservoirs. This number is gradually decreasing with the end of the holiday season. Keywords: Injuries, the Czech Red Cross water rescue service, water rescue, first aid

Mountain trekking in diabetic patients treated with an insulin pump
Bytelová, Sophie ; Daďová, Klára (advisor) ; Majorová, Simona (referee)
Title: Mountain tourism for diabetics with an insulin pump Objectives: The aim of this study is to find out whether it is suitable for patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus treated with an insulin pump to undergo physical activity in the form of mountain tourism, as the more intense physical aktivity affects blood glucose levels and whether patients are able to work with advanced insulin pump functions. Methods: The work is conceived as an observational study of the Medtronic educational project. One day mountain hike trip of a distance about 30 km was attended by 40 patients (men and women) with diabetes aged 15-25 years. Non-invasive methods were used. The data was obtained by monitoring insulin pump probes, glucometers and continuous monitoring, which were further evaluated using the CareLink Pro software. Results: Physical activity in the form of mountain tourism is suitable for patients with DM1 treated on an insulin pump. 80% of the probands did not have a risk status of hypoglycaemia, and even though the determined normoglycemia for research was performed by a larger number of adults as opposed to children, this FA has a demonstrable effect on blood glucose levels. It also brings positive benefits for patients because they learn how to work better with advanced insulin pump functions....

Title: Comparison of the quality of life of persons diagnosed with intervertebral disc herniation in relation to surgical and conservative treatment. Objectives: The aim of the diploma thesis was the research and evaluation of the quality of life in patients with intervertebral disc lesion with and without surgery, assuming that both monitored groups will be treated with individual rehabilitation treatment. Methods: This research was conducted using a standardized Short Form 36 (SF - 36) questionnaire on quality of life that is conditional to health. The study was conducted at Na Homolce Hospital in a rehabilitation clinic, where appropriate respondents (n = 117) were selected for this research. The group included 59 respondents who underwent surgery and 58 treated conservatively. The survey was attended by respondents aged 27-86. The final results were divided into both health, physical and psychological dimensions in both groups. Two-choice tests were used to compare. For all domains, the assumption of the normal distribution of the two compared selections was rejected, which precluded the use of the two-t-test. For domains where there was no assumption of homogeneity of scattering, the Mann-Whitney test was used to compare. For domains where the assumption of homogeneity was rejected, a Median...

Name: First aid provided by persons after spine and spinal cord injury The aim of the work: The aim of my bachelor thesis is to find out the practical possibilities of first aid in people after spine and spinal cord injury. Next task was to find out if the people tied to a wheelchair are able to provide first aid with sufficient quality. Methodology of the work: I have used three methods of data collection. The first method to identify personal history and basic theoretical knowledge in monitored group was an survey inquiry. The second method was an uncontrolled conversation to which I found additional information. The third method of data collection was observation, where I followed the practical possibilities, procedures and first aid technique in solving selected life threatening situations in individuals. Results of the work: Based on observations, I have found that all probands are able to evaluate the state of consciousness, to pass through the airways, and are able to provide first aid for strangulation by a foreign object and stopping breathing of the child within 1 year. I also found that probes with lesion height to Th7 are able to place the adult patient in a stabilized position and, if necessary, to initiate the resuscitation of an individual who is unconscious and does not breathe...
