Physical activity education of individuals with type 2 diabetes

Title: Physical education of individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the effect of physical education of individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus cured in diabetologic outpatient clinic of Genereal University Hospital in Prague. The physical education was focused on nordic walking. Methods: Eight patients of diabetological outpatient clinic were chosen by the doctor for this survey. The physical examination was carried out with seven patients. It involved anthropometrical measurements (weight, waist circumference) and blood collection for biochemical parameters assessment (glycemia, glycated hemoglobin). Two-minute step test was chosen for assessment of subject's physical fitness. Results: The physical activity education of individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus doesn't increase the amount of their physical activity. The physical activity of type 2 diabetes mellitus individuals is rather low as well as their exercise adherence. Nordic walking exercise program can improve anthropometrical parametres (weight, waist circumference) and can reduce HbA1c levels. Experience and knowledge of primary schools teachers with diabetes mellitus

Title: Experience and knowledge of primary schools teachers with diabetes mellitus Objectives: The main aim of my thesis was to find out what the experience and knowledge the teachers from selected primary schools have with diabetes mellitus. The research study focused on knowledge of causes, symptoms and first aid for acute complications. Methods: I used the method of an anonymous questionnaire, in the range of 30 closed questions, which was divided into 2 parts. The first part contained 14 survey questions and dealt with teachers' experience with diabetes. The second part consisted of 16 test questions and examined teachers' knowledge of diabetes mellitus. I carried out a research study which included 55 teachers from 2 primary schools in Písek. The survey was always conducted once in each school during a school meeting. Results: Based on the collected data, I found out that more than half of the respondents have had an experience with a diabetic student during their teaching career. Only some respondents had to provide first aid for acute complications caused by diabetes mellitus. Personal assistent's knowledge of first aid

Title: Personal assistent'sknowledge of first aid. Objectives: The aim of this master thesis was to determine the personal assistant's knowledge of first aid in selected situations. Methods: An anonymous survey was used to determine the personal assistant'sknowledge of first aid. The questions were created on the basis of Barbora Studená'sbachelor thesis and on the basis of information obtained from centres or organization providing personal assistance. The webside Survio.com was used for data collection. Personal assistants who work or have worked in the social services sector were in the target group. A total of 54 respondents participated in the research. The data were processed into graphs and evaluated. Results: Out of the total number 54 (100 %, 46 (85 %) of respondents got above 13-point limit in the survey focused on their knowledge of first aid. Personal assistant's knowledge was evaluated as positive. From the results, we can also assume that the length of action and practical experience in personal assistance has an impact on the subjective assessment of self- confidence in providing first aid. Use of tobacco products by UK FTVS students

Title of Bachelor's thesis : "Use of tobacco products by UK FTVS students". Goal: The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to find out how many percent of UK FTVS students use tobacco products. The sub-task was to examine which of the tobacco products students used the most, why they started smoking and whether they had already tried or wanted to quit smoking or using other tobacco products. Whether smokers and occasional smokers were aware of the risks associated with the use of tobacco products. Methods: The survey was conducted in the form of a poll that only UK FTVS students could participate in. The poll was anonymous and was published on a Facebook page attended by students of the aforementioned faculty. Results: The results were processed using graphs. A combined total of 213 students completed the questionnaire and of those 70% are non-smokers, 20.2% intermittent smokers and 9.9% smokers. Title: Theoretical knowledge of first aid of pupils with hearing impairment educated by different communicational approach. Objectives: The purpose of this diploma thesis is to compare the level of theoretical knowledge concerning the first aid at schools for pupils with hearing impairment depending on main communicational approach. The partial goal is to determine if there is a connection between subjective evaluation of first aid knowledge, the ability to provide the first aid and the theoretical knowledge itself. Methods: Questionnaire containing 14 questions was used to determine pupils' knowledge. It was distributed in three elementary schools for hearing impaired children. The aiming group were pupils from the 9th and 10th grade of elementary school. Altogether 18 respondents from 3 elementary schools (X, Y and Z) participated in the research. There were 5 pupils in each class at schools X and Y, and both schools used bilingual communication as the education method, the questionnaire was translated into sign language there. Title: Education of primary and secondary school teachers in first aid and their evaluation of this issue Objectives: The main object of this work was to find out how teachers on primary and secondary school evaluate content and form of first aid education. Partial goal was to find out how do they rate their owns skills in providing first aid and act corectly in situations, which endanger their student's health. Methods: This is qualitative research, which uses an empirical method of questionnaire survey. 34 primary and secondary school teachers in the Czech republic attended a test battery. A test battery of 24 questions was compiled to collect the answers and it's distribution was carried out via the survio.cz platform. Results: The study suggested, that primary and secondary schools's teachers rate first aid education as important, but they prefer to be educated in range of skills, which they can in their work need. Most of the teachers, who work in environment with an increased risk of injury, evaluates school¨'s attitude to this issue as inadequate and they would be grateful for better conditions for mastering first aid procedures. Signal alert dogs and their use in people with diabetes mellitus

The theses is focused on diabetic alert dogs, which create impact on compensation of diabetes mellitus. Differences in topic's between Czech republic and USA is compared based on questionnaire. Part of diploma thesis is also short questionnaire dedicated for members of Czech republic parliament. The aim of thesis is to extend public knowledge about diabetic alert dogs in Czech republic. To compare knowledges about this topic between Czech republic and USA and to compare number of owners of diabetic alert dogs in Czech republic and USA. Analysis was done by using selected method of questionnaire targeting this topic. Questions were related to people suffering from diabetes mellitus in Czech republic and USA. Second anonymous questionnaire was prepare for members of Czech parliament and their knowledges about this topic. First aid in nursery school

Title: First aid in preschool Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis was to find out the level of first aid knowledge of kindergarten teachers. Furthermore, it was compared how much their knowledge would improve if they passed the first aid course. Methods: The method used in the thesis was an anonymous inquiry. The survey was consisted of two parts, the survey section, which had 12 questions and the test part, which had 20 questions. The research sample was consisted of 23 respondents at an average age of 37 years. The survey was conducted in cooperation with kindergarten in Vodňany. The obtained data was displayed in graphs. Results: Based on the survey, it was found that teachers in preschool have experience with first aid in kindergarten. They encounter most often the minor abrasions, head injuries and abdominal pain. They made the least mistakes in answering questions about accidental and life-threatening conditions. After completing the course and first aid training, their mistakes in responses were reduced by an average of 2 errors per teacher. Title: Change of life quality in people undergoing the organized reduction program Objective: The work objective is to find out a possible change of life quality after undergoing a three-month reduction course which consists of aerobic exercise and circuit training, as well as group work under the guidance of an instructor. Methods: The data will be collected through the SF36 questionnaire. In the first phase of the project, the course participants will fill out a questionnaire which will be handed over to them before the commencement of the reduction program. In the second part of the project, the participants will fill out the same questionnaire after undergoing the course. Subsequently, I will analyse the results and assess the success rate of the program. Method - questionnaire survey. Results: After undergoing a three-month reduction program, there were positive changes in quality of life. The effectiveness of the influence of the three-month reduction programme is seen primarily in the improvement of the psychological side of the individual. Title: Maintaining the positive effects of physical exercise programs for elderly several months after its completion. Aims: The main aim of this thesis is to detect, if the level of physical activity of seniors remain in existence even when the organized exercise program within the study EXODYA ends. Another aim is to discover a benefit of two exercise programs within one year in several selected areas. The last aim is to find out, whether the three months long exercise program will have a positive impact on physical and mental state of seniors. Methods: This is an empiric-theoretical research thesis. Three ensembles took part in a mixed qualitative-quantitative research. The muscle strength, flexibility, level of depressive signs and the state of short-term memory was tested with the ensemble I. (N=7) before and after an organized three months long exercise program. The testing of the ensemble II. (N=4) was held during the whole year (2018) within two exercise programs. The measuring of aerobic fitness and physical weight were added. The ensemble III. (N=31) were the alumni of the study EXODYA and they participated in the self-designed survey, where they were asking about the recent level of physical activity.
