Male-female income inequality in the labour market of Czech Republic

Equality of all people without regard to their race, religion or sex is one of the basic ideological principles of democratic states in contemporary Europe. Yet it is commonly known fact that men and women are not considered as equal in all spheres of life. This thesis deals with gender discrimination in the labour market of Czech Republic, with an emphasis on male-female income difference. The main aim of this work is to determine and compare the influence of sex, education and profession on the salary amount and male-female income difference. The statistical method of regression analysis (OLS) is used to achieve this task. General terminology, sociological concepts and economic explanatory models concerning gender discrimination are explained in the first part of this thesis, together with the brief history of female position in the Czech (Czechoslovakian) labour market. The second part evaluates the extent of influence of sex, education and profession on the salary amount.
The analysis of unemployment in the Moravian-Silesian Region, with a focus on the mining industry

This Master's thesis deals with the analysis of unemployment in the Moravian-Silesian region from various perspectives, such as age structure, educational structure, length of unemployment, there is also a comparison with other regions of the Czech Republic and analysis of labor supply and demand in the region. Emphasis was also placed on an active employment policy in the region that plays a key role. It was also important to Compaq Czech republic with other European countries and emphasizes the utilization of European funds on active employment policy. Due to the fact that region has strong industrial focus is also prepared an analysis of OKD company, as a major employer, its impact on employment in the region and the potential impacts of the layoffs. The aim of the study was to determine the direction in which the region should follow, where the hidden opportunities are for job seekers, in what position is in comparison with other regions and the influence of the company OKD company the region.
Specific features of financing tertiary education in Czech Republic

The thesis "Specific features of financing tertiary education in Czech Republic" is focused on the problem of university tuition in the Czech Republic. The aim of the work is to illustrate whether investment in tertiary education will be profitable for humans and recoverable in the future, even if they had to pay tuition for college. The theoretical part deals with the basic concepts of economic theory and methods of calculating return on investment in education. The practical part deals with the analysis of the survey that people recognize the importance of investment in human capital, and even with the introduction of tuition fees are willing to invest in tertiary education. The conclusion contains a summary of the proposed funding opportunities in higher education.
Older workers in the labour market

The main goal of this diploma thesis is to analyze and evaluate the situation of older workers on the labour market in the Czech republic, where the population is aging, the population in age category 15-50 is descending and the average life expectancy is growing. These negative events lead, because of economical and social reasons, to the need to stimulate employment of older persons. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains the characteristics of the basic terms for the field of employment of older workers and a description of the present demographic situation, along with its prediction. Practical part contains a chapter with selected economic indicators that describe and explain the situation of older persons on the labour market. The practical part also includes a chapter with consenquences of the expected demographic trends on the labour market of the Czech republic. Then there are included the chapters devoted to comparsion of European countries and for selected states there are given practical examples in addressing the issue of employing of older workers. In the final part there are suggested possible solutions for the situation of older workers.
Labour market signaling and education

The dissertation thesis deals with the problem of signaling behaviour at the labour market. It wants to shed more light on the difference between signaling and the traditionally accepted human capital theory, in order to find common points and distinctions. Both are later used in the model-parts of the thesis where I try to model demad for education and labour demand under both approaches. Both models are theorethical-based and explatin different possibilities how both these variables are formed in the labour market.
Demand for golf in the Czech Republic

This Master's Thesis deals with the demand for golf in the Czech Republic. Its aim is to identify the main determinants of the demand for golf and their influence on the golf boom in the Czech Republic. First chapters are devoted to the theory of demand and its determinants. This is followed by a general introduction to golf, namely its brief history in the Czech Republic and the basic specification of the play. The middle part is devoted to the other side of the market, the supply. There are analyzed the status and development of golf infrastructure in terms of different types of golf courses, but also their price. The status and development of the membership of the Czech Golf Federation is analyzed after the supply. A final chapter deals with determinants of demand, whose significance is assessed on the basis of data obtained from the survey.
The labor market and discrimination, gender wage gap

This master thesis examines gender differences in the labor market. The thesis aim is to find out whether the different status of men and women is due to discriminatory behavior. The theoretical part deals with basic concepts, theories, economic and legislative measures of gender discrimination. The practical part analyzes the different employment of women and men in the labor market. It then focuses on wage differences between men and women at the national level and at EU level. A separate chapter is dedicated to analyzing the factors of wage differences. The last chapter focuses on women in managerial and political positions.
The minimum wage in the Czech Republic and the European Union

The aim of my work is to describe the position of minimum wage in the Czech Republic and to insight its relationship with the other income quantities. In the first part I concentrated on the terms of related with minimum wage and after that I dealer with the development of minimum wage and I analyze its relationship with other income quantities. The last part compares the level of minimum wage in the Czech Republic with the other member states of the European Union where the minimum wage is determined by the law.
Investments of the companies in the human capital

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to make a brief overview of the education level in the workplaces. The introductory part of the work is focused on the human capital and its purpose. The practical part is focused on the amount of the investment among companies in the field of human capital on the Czech market. The thesis also deals with the methods and quality of this process. I tried to find an answer to the question whether the Czech companies invest in the human capital of their employees.
Morální hazard ve vztahu nájemce a zmocněnce

This paper will introduce the reader to the issues of moral hazard in a principal-agent setting, with the primary focus on the incentive pay models of moral hazard. Firstly, with an introduction and analysis of various microeconomic models designed to alleviate the problems of moral hazard, and secondly, with an analyses of these models in the context of a specific company, the aim of this thesis is to offer a comprehensive understanding of the specific problems caused by moral hazard in the principal-agent problem, as well as the mechanisms used to lessen such problems in the real business environment and their connection to the theoretical microeconomic models.
