German surnames and their semantic-motivational types

The topic of the work is collecting materiál for creating of a material database of german surnames of Czechs in the town Volary and their analysis using semantic-motivational types. To understand the historic context, history of the town Volary is described, from it´s founding in 13th century until today. In the part dedicated to the material database the author describes the process of collecting material and with it connected difficulties. This work contains a complete list of the german surnames, the actual material database. The author furthermore analyses the surnames from the database using semantic-motivational types and divides them into four basic cathegories.
