The transformation of life of Sisters of Mercy of St Charles Borromeo in Bohemia in the context of the 20th-century: a reflection of changes in the experience of charisma and spirituality of the Congregation
Marková, Pavlína ; Vopřada, David (advisor) ; Červenková, Denisa (referee)
Master thesis "The transformation of the life of Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo in Bohemia in the context of the 20th century: a reflection of changes in the experience of charisma and spirituality of the Congregation" is based on the assumption that a significant feature of the religious life as an organic part of the church is its historical character, which leads again and again to the transformation of the own charisma into the specific spirituality. The thesis is devoted to the Bohemian branch of the Sisters of Mercy in the course of the 20th century. The general constitutive elements of the religious life and the specific features of the Congregation are described in the first chapter. The second chapter offers an overview of the most significant events and trends of the 20th century from the perspective of the society and of the church in Europe, followed by the third chapter focusing on the situation of the catholic church and Congregation of Sisters of Mercy in Bohemia during the 20th century. The final chapter discusses the essential elements of the religious life (the identity of the consecrated life, the community, the mission) from two points of view (the mercy, the sisterhood) and it describes the transformation of the life of the Bohemian Sisters of Mercy in the course of...
Post-polymerization modification of block copolymers as a tool for preparation of new drug delivery nanosystems
Marková, Pavlína ; Uchman, Mariusz Marcin (advisor) ; Košovan, Peter (referee)
Amphiphilic block copolymers self-assemble into clinically efficacious nanostructures, whose size, stability, and surface chemistry can be easily adjusted for each purpose. This versatility has prompted the vast scope of their biomedical applications, especially in the field of drug delivery. In particular, polyester-based nanoparticles have been used in gene, nucleic acid, therapeutic protein and drug delivery for their in vivo biocompatibility and biodegradability. However, most studies have only focused on amphiphilic copolymers with either short hydrophobic segments, no modification or a single preparation pathway. This diploma thesis focuses on the synthesis of poly(ethylene oxide)-b-poly(caprolactone) copolymers containing propargyl groups using two parallel approaches, namely a copolymerization with a modified monomer and a post-polymerization modification. A subsequent thiol-yne click reaction with 1-thioglycerol yielded copolymers with vicinal diols, which can reversibly bind to benzoxaborole- and boronic acid-derived compounds. Both synthetic pathways were evaluated based on macromolecular characteristics afforded by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and by size exclusion chromatography. Furthermore, we characterized the self-assembled nanoparticles by static and dynamic light...
Rastafarians as a subculture in the Czech Republic
Marková, Pavlína ; Soukup, Václav (advisor) ; Jakoubek, Marek (referee)
Rastafarianism, whether as a religion, movement or subculture, is often presented as a purely Jamaican phenomenon. This work is focused on the research of the Rastafarian community, which were originated in the territory of the Czech Republic. Based on the literature, its introductoryin with the origin and existence of the Rastafarian community at the site of its origin, in Jamaica. Based on the research conducted in the form of participating observations, the Rastafarian community in the Czech Republic is also presented. The aim of the research is to obtain information about the Rastafarian community, to compare with the original community represented by the sources and focus on the formation of Rastafarian identity in the Czech Republic.
Ownership and Capital Structure of the Company and Optimization Options
MARKOVÁ, Pavlína
The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the assets and capital structure of the company, including the factors, that influence this structure. Then specify different approaches to optimalization and specifc practices applied to the selected company. In the end, propose specific recommendations, that should lead to an increase in the performance and overall optimalization of the capital and assets structure. The assets and capital structure of the selected company was evalued using the ratio analysis, especially indicators of activity, liquidity, profitability and debt, than net working capital analysis, vertical and horizontal analysis, Altman Z Score and Beneish model as one of the detection methods.
