Interiors of small and medium enterprises as a source of waste heat for a heat pump
Valachovič, Filip ; Miklas, Václav (referee) ; Máša, Vítězslav (advisor)
Environmental problems and the recent high rise in energy prices are forcing us to look for more sophisticated and more energy-efficient solutions. As a result, more and more renewable energy sources and waste heat are being used. Sources of waste heat, which have so far remained outside the area of interest, such as waste heat contained in the air of industrial interiors, are thus becoming the subject of interest. This waste heat undoubtedly has huge potential in many industries. The use of waste heat is always complemented by a certain technology. In terms of operating costs and the environment, the heat pump seems to be a perspective solution. The main goal of the presented thesis is to evaluate the application potential of heat pumps for the use of waste heat contained in the air of the interiors of small and medium enterprises. The first part deals with an overview of available technologies for the use of waste heat, introduction to heat pump technology, the issue of heat load of industrial buildings and due to the possibility of using a heat pump for cooling the interior, attention is also paid to hygienic requirements for the quality of the interior. The second part of the work presents a conceptual design of the integration of the heat pump into the selected process – laundry facility. The methodology of the solution consists of the selection and analysis of the process in terms of heat energy, heat pump design, economic analysis, and evaluation of the achieved results. The currently available waste heat in the air of the examined laundry corresponds to 37 kJ and the heat load corresponds to the heat output of 526 kW. The minimum heat output of the heat pump for heating 4.3 m3 of water per hour corresponds to 170 kW at a compressor electrical input of approximately 23 kW. This parameters, current energy prices, an estimated investment of CZK 1.5 million and compared to water heating by natural gas combustion give a payback return in less than 6 months. Given the current energy prices, it can be stated that the heat pump is the optimal solution in this case. It is surprising that no work on this topic has been created yet and it can be stated that the diploma thesis presents a completely unique solution with a high potential not only in the laundry process.
Potential of biomass resources in CZE and costs of its energy utilisation - II
Štěrba, Martin ; Pavlas, Martin (referee) ; Máša, Vítězslav (advisor)
In recent years, we are more and more confronted with the concepts of bio-energy, biomass or biofuels. In conjunction with the increasing pressure on the use of these commodities thein demand is increased. Crops for the purpose of energy production may be an important renewable source of energy and are the primary topic of the work submitted. Introductory chapter provides distribution, characteristics, list of representatives of crops and ways of energy utilisation the crops. Is folloved by an introduction to the legislation dealing with energy crops. The market for biofuels is still in its infancy, and therefore the work submitted presents only general view of the current status of the production and use in the Czech Republic and potential prospects. Interesting is also the position of farmers and the issue of competitiveness. These areas are collectively analyzed in the final chapters.
Analysis of factors influencing gas microturbine operation
Kostrhounová, Petra ; Máša, Vítězslav (referee) ; Konečná, Eva (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of operating parameters of a gas microturbine. The first part covers the gas microturbine, its function and individual structural components. It also describes the possible use in combined heat and power generation and an overview of main manufacturers in the current market. The theoretical part of the work, based on a search of professional studies, summarizes selected factors influencing the efficiency of the gas microturbine, namely temperature and relative humidity, atmospheric pressure and parameters of various types of fuel. In the last part, the work focuses on the specific operation of the gas microturbine Capstone C30. Data from experimental measurements are analysed and the electrical efficiency is determined from them, which is compared with theoretical assumptions. Finally, the influence of the measured parameters on the electrical efficiency of the microturbine is discussed and the ideal course of the experiment is proposed.
Least-Squares Method in System Identification
Matějka, Jiří ; Bělohradský, Petr (referee) ; Máša, Vítězslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the description of the least squares method and its application in system identification of dynamic processes. It contains mathematical derivation of least squares method and basic principles of system identification. It describes parametrization of an mathematical model of experimental unit for biomass combustion.
Waste heat to power technology
Kůra, Tomáš ; Máša, Vítězslav (referee) ; Konečná, Eva (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the methods of waste heat conversion to electrical energy. There are presented and described so far known methods that generate power via mechanical work and methods converting power directly from heat. The thesis also contains an overview of case studies for studied technologies. Finally, all the findings are summarised, the factors influencing the applicability of each technology are presented, and the possibilities of the technology application in the industry are evaluated.
Cleaning of ventilation systems and potential energy savings
Lapáček, Milan ; Rubina, Aleš (referee) ; Máša, Vítězslav (advisor)
The main aim of this thesis is to explore fouling of air ducts and its influence on energy consumption of HVAC systems. The first part focuses on typical parts that create the IAQ in buildings and on evaluating energy consumption of air transportation. The following section deals with the theories of fluid flow, flow regimes and pressure losses that are created as a side effect. The thesis outlines possible methods of assessing the impact of pollution with an emphasis on pressure losses and their influence on the fan power consumption. The actual experimental measurement, conducted in a selected industrial plant, is focused on an influence of cleanness of textile diffuser on HVAC device power consumption. For the further research of this process, measuring equipment with suitable measurement method is designed and constructed.
Archived Data Management System
Havlíček, Martin ; Šeda, Miloš (referee) ; Máša, Vítězslav (advisor)
The goal of this work was to research the available database systems and propose a suitable database system for data archiving. Prepare the communication and processing of data between the database and delivered application Profisignal which processes the measured data from all sensors. Design architecture for the database, the storage of measured data and calculation reports on that data. At the end design the web user interface. The result of my work demonstrate possible ways of archiving data in ORACLE database, examples of calculation the reports and sample of web application, that presented the measured data.
Legislative Protection of Results Arising from University-Industry Collaboration
Vondra, Marek ; Šedivý, Michal (referee) ; Máša, Vítězslav (advisor)
The thesis deals with a legal protection of results of research and development activities, which runs in collaboration between a university and an industry partner. At the first part of the thesis basic terms are explained, related legislation is introduced and important institutions from the field of intellectual property rights are mentioned. The thesis also describes a legal status of the research and a development center, lists various ways of results protection and provides an introduction to contractual obligations. The technical part contains a calculation of energy and water consumption in the Laboratory of energy intensive processes. Finally, all information provided is used for a preparation of the collaboration agreement draft between the university and the partner from the application area.
Wireless sensor network in industrial practice
Podhorský, Michal ; Bobák, Petr (referee) ; Máša, Vítězslav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is dedicated to wireless sensor networks. The first part focuses on the wireless network components. Two basic hardware parts – sensor node and base station – are described there. The following topic speaks about the basic feature of this technology and software technology equipment for its use. The second part of this bachelor thesis is focused on the using wireless sensor network in industrial practise. Specific examples of the real deployment if this technology are shown there.
