Playful Introductions Into The Fairy Tale Genre With Preschool Children

The diploma thesis is focused on introduction of a preschool child into the fairy tale genre. The aim of this thesis is to think out, realize and reflect activities that introduce preschool children into the fairy tale genre and lead them to the vocabulary and class cooperation development. In the theoretical part chapters are dedicated to following topics: the genre of a fairy tale and its characters, reader's preliteracy and preschool child (mentioning important milestones in child's psychological development associated with reader's preliteracy, aims of literary education, the importance of both family and school in child's reading preliteracy development), along with methods and ways of working with book and projects supporting reader's preliteracy. The practical part of this thesis deals with an implementation of activities introducing a preschool child into the fairy tale genre. These are five tasks to fairy tale text characters and final fairy tale inventing in groups. The research of the practical part took place in the school year 2017/2018 and all the tasks were completed by 16 preschool children. Development of prosocial behavior in kindergarten through reading preliteracy activities

The diploma work is focused on the development of prosocial behaviour in a kindergarten by means of reader's preliteracy. The theoretical part clarifies the terms related to the issues of the development of prosocial behaviour in a kindergarten, reader's literacy and preliterasy. It as well briefly describes the differences between heterogeneous and homogenous structure of the classroom in a kindergarten arranged according to the age and deals with the kindergarten as well as the classroom climate. The aim of the practical part was to describe in what matter the particular kindergarten develops pro-social behaviour of children with the support of reader's preliteracy. During the whole school year there were particular activities established and consequently implemented into an age-heterogeneous classroom located in a one-classroom kindergarten and upon consequent reflexion and feedback the activities were further provided with a possibility to work further with a given activity. To gain the reflexion and feedback the methods of interviews, monitoring and self-reflexion were used. A choice of books for children according to the kindergarden teachers

Diploma thesis focuses on the question of how kindergarten teachers choose books for preschool children, what kind of books and main factors which influence their choice, e.g. cheap books, collectors' campaigns or interactive books. The theoretical part describes the development of a preschool child with respect to the reading, literary genres and types of books suitable for preschool children. It also points out publishing houses that publish children's books, awards for high-quality children's literature, and, last but not least, the media which influence the selection of books. It also explains the importance of support and development of reading literacy for a pre-school child. The aim of this work was to describe the process of selection of children's literature by kindergarten teachers and to find out main factors influencing this selection. After studying the literature, a questionnaire on 31 items for kindergarten teachers was created in the practical part. It was filled in by 129 respondents. By evaluation of this questionnaire i answered 14 hypotheses. It has been confirmed that university-educated teachers choose awarded books more than teachers without university education. Motive of death in kindergarten mediated through children's literature

This bachelor thesis will convey a research theme of death and its presence as a theme in the kindergarten and amongst its pedagogues and their explanations of it. The goal of this thesis is to map the death-related themes present in kindergarten and the way their presence manifests there. We also strive to create a list of appropriate and qualified literature for children to go along with it and which can be used to work with the idea of death in kindergarten. Using this we are going to create, realise and reflect three lessons containing death-related themes where we would use "work with a book" method in selected kindergarten. Theoretical part of this thesis will concentrate on the death-theme and ways in which children approach said theme - this will be done through characteristics of pre-school child and through their cognitive evolution towards the death-theme. Further on in the practical part of the thesis we will explain the term "reader's pre-literacy" through the work with a book method and read strategies used in kindergarten. Interactive books pro preschool children - benefits and risks

1 ABSTRACT This diploma thesis deals with interactive book for preschool children and their benefits and risks. In the theoretical part it is discuss the definition of interaction and interactive book, and its brief history. It provides a overview of the categories of interactive books available in internal bookstores. Finally it is put into context of interactive book characteristics of a pre- school child (developmental specifics, reading literacy, relationship to a book, the role of an adult). The research part of this work examines by method of content analysis of texts of two international empirical studies and questionnaire research between parents and teachers. Results show the benefits and risks of an interactive book for preschool children. Among the most frequently cited benefits were the development of eye-hand coordination, speech, thinking, and fantasy development. Opposidly, the most frequently cited risks were the quality of the book, child's attention on the physical handling of moving parts rather than on the story, and the interconnection of the illustration / moving elements with the story of the book. Parent as a guide of pre-school children in reading of wimmelbuch

The thesis focuses on the role of an adult-parents in the viewing and reading of a series of picture-free text books (so-called wimmelbuch) by S. Bernerová  Winter, Spring, Summer, Autumn, Night. The aim of the thesis is to describe what interactions occur between a parent and a child between two and three years of age when reading "picture books", so-called wimmelbuch. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the topics of reading literacy development (especially for two-year and three-year-olds), pictorial books, books of the type wimmelbuch, adult as a children's book mediator, illustrations and reading rituals. The empirical part includes quantitative and qualitative research. The quantitative part of the research is based on data from an online questionnaire for parents of preschool children. In the framework of long-term qualitative research, the interaction between parent and child between two and three years of age in four selected families is monitored and described, while working with books of the type wimmelbuch by Susanne Berner. The result of the questionnaire is that more than half of the parents interviewed have some of books of the type wimmelbuch by S. Working with illustration in kindergarten as a support of reading comprehension

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of work with illustration in kindergarten as support to understanding a text that is read aloud. The aim is to design and verify methods of working with illustrations in kindergarten that support the understanding of a text that is read aloud to preschool children. In the theoretical part of the thesis, I deal with illustration, visual literacy, method of working with a book, understanding a text (read aloud) and the characteristics of preschool children with regard to the topic of the thesis. Subsequently, I apply this knowledge in the practical implementations. In the practical part, I propose and verify methods of working with illustration in kindergarten which should support the understanding of a text that is read aloud to preschool children. The thesis is focused on qualitative research in which I compared differences between research and experimental group sample. First, I tested the level of skill of all twenty children when working with illustrations and understanding of a text read aloud (both research and experimental group samples). This documents deals with a development of reader literacy as well as working with the story with preschoolers. In theoretical part we discuss concepts like preschool age, where we explain each segment of children development and its lawfulness. Next we discuss topics like literacy and pre-literacy and we'll also concentrate on a reader segment. Next up we will take a look on games and stories in general and how each of these concepts influence preschool education. Last part of theoretical part focuses on educational methods for development of children of preschool age. Goal of a practical part is: a) research focused on pre-reading abilities of preschool children in certain classes- research pattern and experimental pattern b) to create a suitable methodology for development of pre-reading abilities of preschool children c) to use these methods in practice with a follow-up diagnostic of ability level of preschool children d) evaluation of information from acquired results e) creation of a book containing stories created and illustrated by preschool children.
