Oxidative passivation of metal powder
Kuna, Petr ; Solný, Tomáš (referee) ; Šoukal, František (advisor)
This thesis deals with the study of the effect of the oxide layer on the surface of metal powder on selected properties of fuel-oxidizer pyrotechnic system. Research includes finding optimal thickness of the oxide layer with using XPS and SEM methods, its conditions of formation and its influence on pressure-time curve and to resistance to ESD.
Typology of land cover changes and landscape structure in the post-communist countries of the Central Europe
Kuna, Petr ; Romportl, Dušan (advisor) ; Lipský, Zdeněk (referee)
Study of landscape change is a subject of interest for a wide range of professional work both in the Czech republic and abroad. This thesis therefore does not give a simple description of the changes in the landscape, but rather focuses on the further synthesis of these findings and the subsequent creation of a typology of land cover changes and their impacts on landscape structure in the region of interest, including also its heterogeneity. It is therefore a process of allocated areas that formed and still form the same processes that lead to homogenization of the landscape, as opposed to its fragmentation. Area of interest is so-called Visegrad Group of countries (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland). There are four countries of the former Eastern bloc in Central Europe, which shared some relatively similar initial conditions for the further development of the landscape after the "release" of the regime change in 1989. The landscape began to develop in different way. Each country began a different way to approach a completely different landscape interfering in its development. Review starts with describing landscape development in the period up to 1989, when it was not too taken of the ecological functions and the importance of the landscape. This period was characterized by the...
Shale gas and conflict of (public) interests (Based on the example of Trutnovsko and Berounsko)
Hellerová, Šárka ; Rynda, Ivan (advisor) ; Kuna, Petr (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to examine the term of public interest within the framework of the 'shale gas' issue in the Czech Republic. The theoretical section is divided into two basic parts. The first part defines the term public interest from the point of view of political science, sociology and economy. The second one describes the issue of shale gas extraction in global context. The examination is focused on the context of administrative procedures defining the prospecting exploration area of unconventional hydrocarbon resources in the Trutnov region and around the Berounka River The intention of private companies to extract shale gas in the Czech Republic caused a big discussion. In its core there is the dispute between the economic development of the country connected with energy security on one hand and the environment protection on the other. Within this debate the term public interest appears in many different contexts. The way it is used by the people involved and their interests are described through interviews with them and analysis of the gained material.

Changes in land cover in the summit part of the Mt. Oblík (České Středohoří Mts.)
Kuna, Petr ; Demková, Katarína (referee) ; Treml, Václav (advisor)
Oblík, with his height 509.25 meters above sea level, is the dominant feature of the southwestern part of the České středohoří Mts. which is often referred to as Lounské středohoří Mts.. Geological environment and characteristic climatic conditions prevailing during the last Quaternary glaciation here prompted the creation of natural forest-free areas that are in form of isolated fragments of land preserved to this day. Oblík is one of the most important steppe sites in our area. Ever since the arrival of Neolithic man, the whole region Lounské středohoří Mts. influenced by human intervention. It can be assumed that the influence of grazing helped preserve important sites for steppe at Oblík. From preserved material can be observed the existence of forest on the northern slope. Currently, they are dominated by oak forests with trees such as oak winter (Quercus petraea) and oak (Quercus robur) with an admixture of hornbeam (Carpinus betulus). Contrast, the southern slopes covered many steppe species such as pheasant spring (Adonanthe vernalis), steppe sedge (Carex scales) or a total of five kinds of Stipa (Stipa sp.) and others. On Oblík there are several rare and endangered species that are of interest to the special protection of this National Nature Reserve. At present, the slopes with steppe...
Analysis of financial results of Czech companies and their relation to the macroeconomic development
Kuna, Petr ; Marek, Petr (advisor) ; Dufková, Eva (referee)
The foundation stone of this thesis is to perform a financial analysis of Czech non-financial companies for the years from 2007 to 2009 in order to evaluate development of the basic groups of financial analysis ratios before and after the outbreak of the financial crisis. Based on this analysis, I analyze the changes of the selected ratios in relation with the macroeconomic development. This is carried out by means of the description in words and for some significant changes using correlation analysis with GDP. The analysis results in the findings that the changes of ratios of return on assets and return on equity were negative in the analyzed period and for each year the factors of these changes are tracked using the pyramidal decomposition. In the statistical part of my thesis I partially succeeded in proving linear correlation between return on assets and GDP and a lower confidence level linear correlation between personnel cost to revenues ratio and GDP. Also, there were some correlations between individual ratios found to be significant.
