Ankylosing Spondylitis: Comparison of Diagnostic Methods and Digital 3D Model Production

Title:Ankylosing spondylitis, comparision of diagnostic methods and production of digital 3D model Aim: The aim of this thesis was to explore the issue of diagnosis of ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Describe the investigative methods used to diagnose and monitor the progress of the disease and try to create 3D geometric model of two vertebrae from magnetic resonance images (MRI) has demonstrated the possibilities of this process and possibly illustrate the pathological processes taking place on the monitored vertebrae. Method: The thesis is elaborated in the form of annotated literature review. They were used the available literature sources from which the information was drawn for determination of pathological processes, clinical symptoms, diagnostic methods and on therapy in AS. The practical part is used for creating 3D model of MR images in the program Scanview and Amira program for creating 3D objects. Software has Amira correction options and adding image data with a lack of meaningful that MR images show. Impact of gear and weaponry on muscle activation in the direct front kick

Title: The influence of equipment and arms on skeletal muscles activities while practising direct kick. Aim: The aim of this thesis was to find out the influence of carried equipment and arms on the activity of skeletal muscles when a direct front kick is being practised. The methods used: This thesis has an empirically observational character. Muscular activities were measured by means of surface electromyography synchronised by Qualisys screen system. To obtain statistic data, a t-test has been used, requiring 5 % significance level. Results: While carrying a 15-kilogram load, the activity of skeletal muscles was not significantly reduced when performing a direct front kick. However, a 30- kilogram load caused a substantial reduction of skeletal muscular activities during the kick described above. After adding a 15-kilogram bag to another 15 kilograms in the form of a body armour, a helmet and arms, the muscular activity changed its features in a considerable way. Furthermore, most respondents proved 45-kilogram load to be over their limit. The equipment and arms of that weight led to the summation action potential, exceeding the power- coordinative functional reserve, and thus the deformation of the direct front kick technique. Title: Strategy of postural stabilisation using unstable surface and water barrel. Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate the level of muscle actiavtion of choosen muscles during lunge on unstable surface or with using water barrel. Investigation of the postural strategy used during lunge orn unstable surface or with the water barrel and creation of methodology for measurment and data analysis. Methods: Into this pilot study, there were picked 5 people (athletes). Data for outcomes where used from 3 athletes. The measurement of level of muscle activation were done by surface electromyography over gluteus medius muscle and musculi multifidii bilaterally.For data procession was used software Origin 2012 Postural stability was measured through force plates by Kistler and gained data were procesed by using software programmes Bioware, MS Excel and Matlab. For data analysis from EMG measurement was used simple comparasion of outcomes. Stabilometry outcomes were analysed by statistical methode t-test. Results: The results indicate greater level of measured trunk muscles activation during lunge with aquabag than lunge on unstable surface. Consequences of injuries on stability in ballet

Title: Consequences of injuries on stability in ballet Objectives: The main aim of the study was to find out if injuries in the ankle and foot have a negative impact on dancers' postural stability. If so then the secondary objective of this study was to see if the injury of one leg affects also the stability of the other in a one-leg stand. Methods: First part of this thesis is a systematic review. The other part is quantitative research in a prospective, cross-sectional design study. Stabilometric data from all 24 female subjects were analysed and injured and uninjured dancers were compared. The data were measured by a FootScan pressure plate (RSscan International, Belgium). Tested positions were bipodalic stance with eyes opened and closed, bipodalic calf raise (relevé) and monopodalic stance on both legs. Results: The aims of the thesis have been fulfilled but both the hypothesis have been rejected. The results have shown better stability in injured dancers to non-injured dancers in three parameters - Total Travel Way of the centre of pressure (COP) in monopodalic stance on the right foot, mediolateral movement of COP in bipodalic stance with eyes opened and calf rise (relevé). Title: Effect of strength training on postural stabilisation. Objectives: The main objective of the theoretical part of the thesis was to summarize the knowledge concerning postural stabilization, strength training and possibilities of postural stability evaluation. The aim of the practical part was to find out what is the effect of strength training on postural stabilization. Methods: The thesis was measured in the premises of the Laboratory of Biomechanics FTVS UK in Prague and was attended by 10 probands. Participants underwent a four-week training plan to develop general strength abilities. We evaluated the impact of strength training by our provocation test and its 3D kinematic analysis using Qualisys optical system. The measurement consisted of an input part before the intervention and an output part after the intervention. The measured values were analyzed in Qualisys Track Manager and then transferred to Microsoft Excel, where they were evaluated and compared. Results: The results showed a significant difference between input and output measurements of postural stabilization. There was a significant improvement in stabilization after four weeks of training, with a noticeable improvement in stabilization on the lower left limb. Author: Jiří Bešťák Title: The effect of footwear on walking and running of patients with an amputation Objective: The main objective of this bachelor thesis is assess the effect of footwear on prosthetic gait and make view of this theme. The thesis is focused on anterior posterior ground reaction force and its changes with variations of footwear. Methods: Four probands (one woman, three men) with transtibial and transfemoral amputation participated at the study. Their age was 20 to 60 years during the study. A condition for inclusion in the study was people with transtibial/transfemoral amputation, degree of activity greater than two, absence of subjective symptoms, traumatic injury. The issue is one-time measurements in the extreme load laboratory at FTVS UK. Kinematics dats from the Kistler force plates are subject to measurements. The obtained data were exported from Qualisys Track Manager software througt the text document into MS Excel. The data were appropriately adjusted for subsequent processing and evaluation in MATLAB. Effect of Barefoot shoes on the footprint loading

Zuzana Vacková Title: Effect of Barefoot shoes on the footprint loading Objectives: The aim of this experiment is to evaluate if barefoot shoes affect the size of vertical component of contact force during walking on a smooth non- abrasive surface during normal conditions. Furthermore to find out which parameters can be used to monitor the degree of convergence foot behaviour during the stance phase of gait cycle with the barefoot and barefoot shoes. Methods: Seven probands (4 women, 3 men) aged 23 to 25 years participated at the study. The dynamic gait parameters (reaction forces from the pad) were measured using Kistler force plates in the extreme load laboratory at FTVS UK. Probands after introduction to the experiment went repeatedly over the power plate subjectively comfortable speed. The first measurement were done while walking in the barefoot type of shoes. The second measurement was barefoot walking. It was a one-time measurement. The obtained data were exported from BioWare® program into MS Excel. The final data processing was carried out in the MatLab program, where the necessary graphs of reaction forces and their evaluation were created. The influence of the surface load distribution of the foot during dynamic movement in tennis

Title: The influence of the surface load distribution of the foot during dynamic movement in tennis Objectives: The aim of this work is to determine whether there is a change in the force load in the area of the sole of the foot during the forehand strike phase in an open position depending on the type of playing surface. Methods: The research was attended by 10 level I tennis players of ranging from the age of 17 to 28. Each of the players has played tennis for at least two years, train 2 - 3 times a week and has no limb injury in the past 12 months. Using the Pedar-X instrument, changes in the force of the plantar load during the forhend strike phase on clay and Casali surfaces were measured. To evaluate these changes, the contact forces [N] (vertical reaction forces) were measured. First, an intra-individual foot impact assessment on the heel region and forefoot on the clay and Casali surface were performed using graphs of temporal force averages. Secondly, an inter-individual evaluation of the maximum force values in the region of the heel, midfoot, forefoot, hallux and lesser toes and whole feet of the foot was performed using the paired t-test statistical method.
