Application of authentic audiovisual documents in the teaching of French for the developing key competencies
Mrzílková, Anna ; Kučerová, Magdalena (advisor) ; Janišová, Míla (referee)
This master's thesis outlines possibilities for incorporating authentic videos from the YouTube, primarily intended for a Frenchspeaking audience, into the teaching of French as a foreign language (FLE). The thesis presents the advantages and disadvantages of using such material and proposes a suitable methodology for its processing to fulfill didactic purposes, especially focusing on the development of key competencies according to the Framework Educational Program for Grammar Schools (RVP G). The practical part consists of a case study. A teaching unit for language level B1 based on video work is tested by five teachers. Based on semistructured interviews with these teachers and the method of participant observation during the instruction using the tested material, an analysis of the functionality of this material is conducted, particularly with regard to whether it contributed to the development of key competencies. This analysis should also capture whether there has been a shift in perception of working with authentic audiovisual documents in teaching among the selected teachers and whether they would use similar materials in their instruction.

Floriánová, Saša ; Kučerová, Magdalena (advisor) ; Janišová, Míla (referee)
The bachelor's thesis "Reform of past participle agreement in French in the context of czech high schools" analyzes a specific grammatical rule in French in the context of its reform. The first part of the thesis provides a theoretical analysis of the past participle agreement with the direct object (in the case of conjugation with avoir), tracing its historical origins. This research also explores the ongoing debate within francophone society surrounding the proposition of some linguists to modify or eliminate this rule. Furthermore, the study investigates the implications of this reform in the context of teaching French as a foreign language in the Czech environment. The practical aspect of the thesis centers on teachers of French in high schools across the Czech Republic. Through the application of the semi-structured interview method, the thesis aims to comprehend how this specific grammatical rule is currently taught in practice and how it is perceived by these teachers. Additionally, the research aims to discover the teachers' attitudes towards broader reforms in French spelling, particularly regarding the potential necessity of reforming the aforementioned rule. The underlying assumption in this investigation is that these attitudes are likely shaped by real-life teaching experiences and...

Malcharová, Johana ; Janišová, Míla (advisor) ; Kučerová, Magdalena (referee)
French as a foreign language is taught by default in secondary schools. There are undoubtedly many ways and means to pass on a foreign language to students. In this work, I will specifically focus on the influence of French literature in classes of FLE. How much its inclusion in mainstream teaching can enrich a student's relationship with a foreign culture, facilitating the process of acquiring foreign language itself. This bachelor's thesis aims not only to defend and emphasize the importance of French literature in the FLE classes, but also to map the extent to which French literature is currently part of French language teaching in secondary schools in the Czech Republic, and how its potential inclusion is viewed by students and teachers. Corpora in secondary FLE teaching: case study on the verbonominal constructions
Drobník, Ondřej ; Kučerová, Magdalena (advisor) ; Nádvorníková, Olga (referee)
in English The submitted master's thesis deals with the use of the Czech-French parallel corpus InterCorp in secondary school teaching. The theoretical part summarizes the already known advantages and disadvantages of corpus didactics, places the language corpus in the context of Czech high school education and briefly describes the construction of avoir N (e.g. avoir faim, avoir besoin de), which will serve as the language goal of our exercises. The methodology presents the data that will be worked with in the next parts, the parallel corpus InterCorp (version 13), as well as outlines the construction of own "didactic" corpus, which phase is inevitable when drawing data from a linguistically oriented corpus. The focus of the diploma thesis lies in the practical section, where I suggest to French teachers several ways to compile their own exercises covering the whole process of foreign language teaching: exposure, fixation, application, and control (according to Choděra, 2013), focusing on the secondary school level (approx. A1- B1/B2). The suggested exercises are of two types: hands-on and hands-off. I discuss the first type only marginally, in the second I have introduced translation, speking, grammar and other activities. The main output of the work is the finding that a parallel corpus can be...

Construction après + Perfect Infinitive in French and its Respondents in Czech
Horníková, Alžběta ; Nádvorníková, Olga (advisor) ; Kučerová, Magdalena (referee)
Propositional condensations represent an effective manner of concise expression within a phrase. In the French language, a construction formed with infinitive and preposition can fulfil this function. This paper aims to analyse one of these constructions: the construction après + perfect infinitive; especially its functioning in French and its possible respondents in Czech. Given the possibility of propositional condensation, the construction is expected to appear more frequently in texts containing narrative sequences, particularly in fiction or journalism. According to the perfect form of the infinitive combined with the preposition après in the construction, the whole structure expresses a concept of anteriority; and thus, the possible Czech respondents of the construction should be provided by subordinate clauses of time. The research in the parallel corpus InterCorp shows that the construction après + perfect infinitive is very common in fiction and journalism, namely in news, whereas it has lesser representation in commentaries. Concerning the Czech respondents of the construction, subordinate clauses of time are the most common equivalents, however, there are more possibilities such as main clauses or structures composed with a preposition and a verbal substantive.
The phenomenon of enantiosemia in contemporary French
Syerikova, Marharyta ; Mudrochová, Radka (advisor) ; Kučerová, Magdalena (referee)
The phenomenon of enantiosemy in contemporary French The diploma thesis deals with enantiosemy in contemporary French. It is a linguistic phenomenon, which by its nature falls into the field of lexical semantics, but it receives much less, if any, attention. Despite the fact that the term « enantiosemy » was introduced in scientific circles more than a hundred years ago, its terminological definition has no fixed contours. The aim of the work is to define the term enantiosemy in a broader linguistic environment, to compare its grasp and to present the main lines of its characteristics. At the same time, we will notice the presence-absence of the analyzed phenomenon in the relevant study material of the French language. Also in this work will be shown different types of opposites of enantiosemic words. The selected enantiosemic words will be subjected to diachronic analysis. In addition, the phenomenon of interlingual enantiosemy will be investigated using the example of French and English. Key words : enantiosemy, opposites, homonymy, antonymy, semantics, polysemy, interlingual enantiosemy
