The short-time effect of smartphone usage on active selective visual atenttion
Nehasil, Lukáš ; Veselý, Viktor (advisor) ; Kučerová, Klára (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the short-term effect of a smartphone usage on selective visual attention. The aim of this work was to examine whether there is a change in active selective visual attention after a single exposure to smartphone. The second objective was to find out if the sports organizations somehow restrict the use of mobile phones prior to the athletes' performance. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the development in attention research and findings of recent studies, concerning smartphone effects and attention. Methodology: For the assessment of changes in attention the d2 Attention Test was used. The first testing was performed after using a smartphone for 10 minutes, the following testing was done without prior phone usage. Representatives of Prague sports organizations were contacted to answer questions regarding the mobile phone restriction in their club. Results: Results show better concentration performance when testing without prior smartphone usage. The concentration performance after the smartphone usage is in the range of 83% - 95% of the concentration performance without prior exposition to the smartphone (with the 95% confidence interval). Additionally, there was no statistically significant difference observed between the first two rows and the rest of the...

Patients underwent 3 measurements (before, during and after the therapy) including Clinical Test of Sensory Interaction and Balance (CTSIB), Functional Gait Assessment (FGA), and Dynamic Visual Acuity Test (DVA). Also, a standardized questionnaire The European Evaluation of Vertigo scale was used and finally, patients were asked about satisfaction with the...
Otolithic system disorders in patients with positional vertigo.
Jendrichovská, Lucia ; Čakrt, Ondřej (advisor) ; Kučerová, Klára (referee)
One of the functions of the equilibrium system is to detect direction and action of the gravitional vector. The dysfunction of the equilibrium system is expressed by a change in the perception of the vertical axis. The aim of this work is to evaluate the function of the otolithic system by examining the subjective visual vertical (SVV) in patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). The theoretical part of the study deals with the anatomy and physiology of the inner ear, with focus on the etiopathogenesis, clinical presentation, evaluation and treatment of BPPV. Practical part of the study examined 5 patients who were diagnosed with BPPV. All patients had objective examination of the SVV by digital device. The optokinematic rotation of the enviroment in static and dynamic contidtions were monitored. After examination and input data recording, treatment was performed with an Epley repositioning maneuver. Re-evaluation of the SVV values were performed immediately after treatment maneuver. Measurements after the repositioning maneuver confirmed improvement of the SVV values in all subjects with BPPV.
Principles of open and closed kinematic chains and their usage in rehabilitation
Hájek, Jiří ; Kučerová, Klára (advisor) ; Kurková, Simona (referee)
Bakalářská práce Princip otevřených a uzavřených kinematických řetězců a jeho využití v praxi 7 Abstract The terms open (OKC) and closed (CKC) kinematic (kinetic - OKIC and CKIC) chain are very often used in physiotherapy. However, this view has a problem in defining the chains. In theoretical part, we focused on definitions according to individual authors, publications and studies that mention the terms. Because the terms OKC and CKC are perceived very differently in the literature and many authors have adapted them to their image. Based on the acquired knowledge, we find the view of the kinematic chains to be insufficient, inconsistent and thus confusing. In the work, we focused on processing as many resources as possible with the given issue. In the practical part, we used a structured questionnaire focused on therapists in clinical practice. We asked how they use the terms OKC and CKC (resp. OKIC and CKIC) and what experience do they have with the terms in their clinical practice. The aim was to find out: to description of which situations are these terms used for and how the terms are used in different kinesiological situations. To what extent are they used in accordance with the definitions or to what extent they differ from them. Based on the results of the questionnaire and the mentioned literature...
The effect of hearing on standing stability
Pavlová, Monika ; Kučerová, Klára (advisor) ; Koutná, Sára (referee)
Standing stability is ensured by informations from the sensory systems, which include the vestibular system, vision, proprioception and hearing. The role of hearing is often neglected. This work aims to determine whether hearing plays a role in maintaining standing stability. The theoretical part of this bachelor thesis summarizes the existing knowledge about the auditory system. It deals with other systems that affect standing stability and, last but not least, tries to summarize the results of research into the effect of hearing on standing stability. The experimental part consists of the evaluation of stabilometric testing of 16 healthy probands (8 women and 8 men) using sound stimulation. Probands were tested in two measurements with an interval of at least 1 week. First in 10 conditions without sound stimulation. Then using sound stimulation, always in the same position - standing with closed eyes on a soft surface. The sound stimulation consisted of the following recordings: a spoken word that the proband understands (weather forecast in Czech language), elimination of auditory inputs with earplugs, stimulation with white noise, a spoken word that the proband does not understand (Chinese or Finnish) and a message with content the the proband was asked about after the measurement was finished...
The Effect of Vestibular Rehabilitation in Patients with Peripheral Vestibular Disease
Kačerová, Veronika ; Kučerová, Klára (advisor) ; Čakrt, Ondřej (referee)
Dizziness is one of the most common reasons for visiting a doctor. Their common cause is a peripheral vestibular lesion. Recently, more and more evidence is emerging regarding the effect of vestibular rehabilitation in these patients. The aim of the theoretical part of this thesis was to provide a comprehensive review of information on peripheral vestibular lesions with an emphasis on the possibilities of physiotherapeutic intervention. Individual peripheral vestibular lesions, vestibular rehabilitation, principles of its functioning and mechanisms of vestibular function repair were described in detail. The main aim of the experimental part of the study was to evaluate the effect of vestibular rehabilitation in patients with peripheral vestibular lesions. Stance and gait stability and the patient's subjective perception of difficulties were evaluated. A total of 31 patients (22 women and 9 men) were included in the study. The age range of the patients was 60 years (SD ± 13 years). The mean duration of the difficulties was 30 months (SD ± 52 months). For objectification, the modified Clinical Test of Sensory Inter-action on Balance (mCTSIB), Dynamic Gait Index (DGI) and Vestibular Rehabilitation Be-nefit Questionnaire (VRBQ) were performed. Measurements were taken before and after the rehabilitation...

This diploma thesis focuses on the evaluation of Act No. 65/2017 Coll., The Act on the protection of health from the harmful effects of addictive substances with emphasis on use of tobacco products. The evaluation of this Act was approached on the basis of the principles of summative evaluation, which focused on the impacts of the health protection Act and on the fulfilment of its set objectives. Apart from evaluations, the theoretical and factual basis of the work includes mainly tobacco control in the Czech Republic. The practical part of this thesis is based on quantitative research that uses secondary data. This research was subsequently supplemented by information from semi-structured expert interviews. The analysis is focused on the evaluation of a total of fifteen indicators, which represent areas on which the adoption of the examined law may have had some impact. These indicators mainly concern the area of smoking and health, but also the tobacco industry, hospitality, and the state budget. The evaluation of the indicators is based on a comparison of two time series, while one of them shows the real situation and the other extrapolates the situation without the adoption of the examined law. The results of the analysis were subsequently discussed in relation to the fulfilment of the set...
Perception of subjective visual vertical
Radvanská, Edita ; Čakrt, Ondřej (advisor) ; Kučerová, Klára (referee)
Postural balance system is a multisensory-organized complex using afference of exteroceptors, enteroceptors, proprioceptors and the visual and the vestibular system. The utriculus and the sacculus are otolith organs placed in the vestibular labyrinth and they are capable of recognizing the direction of gravity. Their function is crucial for keeping postural stability during stand and walk. The ability to recognize the geophysical vertical is failing if the vestibular system is impaired. There are the subjective visual vertical (SVV), the subjective postural vertical (SPV) and the subjective haptic vertical (SHV) which can be tested in humans. This study is interested in SVV, its pathophysiology and measuring. We are comparing the accuracy of measurement of SVV by the Bucket method and a mobile application Visual Vertical in healthy subjects in our experiment.
