Educational supervision

The aim of my diploma thesis is "educational supervision" (supervision of practical training experience) and appreciation of its significance in the process of preparation for future career. In the first part of the thesis I am dealing with definition of supervision in social work and with adumbration of its history, goals and meanings. Second and the most fundamental part of the thesis is focused on the subject of educational supervision. There is a description of the term educational supervision, context of its implementation in certain fields and a comparison with professional supervision. Also I am dealing with the history of educational supervision, its theoretical background, main goals, and the theme of educational contract and process of educational supervising. The last part of the second chapter is focused on particular methods of learning and assessment. The third part of the thesis is dealing with a conception of educational supervision in the reality of Czech higher education of social work, the main focus lies in defining the fundamentals of practical training in the process of education of social work students.

Conservation of glass mosaics in epoxy bedding

The procedure focuses on the conservation of glass mosaics from the second half of the 20th century, which were embedded into epoxy resin as part of the original technology. The advantage was to create light, easily transportable structures (panels). Various materials were used for the base of these panels, such as steel reinforcement, aluminium plates, but also chipboard plates. Over time, the epoxy bedding proved to be unstable, especially in outdoor conditions, where it often degraded or completely disintegrated. It was therefore necessary to consider replacing the original bedding material with a new one. The replacement of the support is illustrated in the conservation of three mosaics, namely a glass mosaic with chipped tesserae, which is an example of an epoxy-coated mosaic with an embedded metal structure, and two mosaic of crumpled tesserae representing a mosaic glued with an epoxy resin to the chipboard. For both types of mosaics a brand new, more stable mosaic embedding system has been developed.

Methodology of conservation and restoration of glass with low chemical stability

Metodika je zaměřena na konzervování-restaurování skla s nízkou chemickou odolností a podává ucelený přehled o vhodných postupech pro zpracování tohoto materiálu. Tato problematika nebyla zatím v našem prostředí v dostupné literatuře dostatečně diskutována a zvláště pro předměty muzejní povahy chybí. Obsahuje i metody použitelné pro restaurování plochého skla ve formě vitrají. Metodika zahrnuje přehled vhodných metod pro hodnocení korozního poškození objektů ze skla (průzkumu), postupů odběru vzorku a metod pro identifikaci chemického složení skla. Dále popisuje možnosti čištění, postupy konsolidace, lepení a doplňování chybějících fragmentů předmětů skla s nízkou chemickou odolností. Zabývá se také možnostmi retuší chybějící malby, postupy restaurování a preventivní konzervace skleněných předmětů poškozených tzv. crizzlingem a browning phenomenon. Obsahuje také zásady pro vhodné uložení předmětů ze skla s nízkou chemickou odolností (preventivní konzervace). Pro pochopení jednotlivých výsledků (především v analytické části) jsou uvedeny komentované příklady.
