Usage of gasification units for electrical power generation

The Bachelor's thesis deals with gasification and possibilities of its utilization for electric power generation. It begins with brief historical introduction of gasification and comparison of gasification with combustion. The thesis is particularly focused on coal gasification. Hence the actual role of coal in power engineering is described and some basic coal properties are discussed. In the next part the coal gasification technologies are mentioned. The thesis also deals with cooling a cleaning of the gas. Next to the utilizing of gained gas for power generation, there are other application where gasification can be used. But more attention is paid to the possibility of using gasification for power generation in power plants working with integrated gasification (so-called IGCC) and in consequence, the actual world situation is reviewed. Using wavelet packet transformation for image compression

The need for storing and transferring digital image data is still growing nowadays. The Compression is necessary to achieve effective usage of transfer and storage capacity. This Bachelor’s Thesis is concerned with compression method based on wavelet packet transform, which is derived from wavelet transform. It is focused especially on best basis search algorithms from whole wavelet packet tree. There is a comparison between 6 best basis and near-best basis search criterions by R. R. Coifman, M. V. Wickerhauser and C. Taswell in this thesis, which is achieved by using Matlab environment based program. The program was created for testing and demonstrative purpose only and that’s why it contains certain limitation such as only black and white image processing and its limited resolution. There is applied constant threshold on testing image after the several best basis criterions application. The Mean Squared Error is used for comparing outcome quality of compressed and original image. The function that acquires minimal Mean Squared Error is considered the best best-basis search criterion in term of visual quality. The results show that some of the Taswell’s functions significantly improve the visual quality of the image at the price of worse compression ratio against common Shannon entropy.
Segmented wavelet transform of images

This master’s thesis is dealing with modification of classical discrete time wavelet transform algorithm to be able to split input image into several segments which could be independently processed. Segmented discrete time wavelet transform is introduced and implemented and the tests shows that it produces the similar values of wavelet coefficients as the classical approach. Complete independent image segment processing is allowed thanks to inverse segmented discrete time wavelet transform. It’s obvious that redundancy calculations appear when the image is processed segment by segment compared to transform the image at once. The redundancy rises with increasing decomposition depth and filter length, however it falls when the segment dimensions are increased. It happens because it is worked with smaller amount of segments which needs to extend. The extension with neighbor samples is the only source of redundancy. The thesis also contains description of two different approaches to signal border extension: firstly complete extension for all decomposition levels before the transformation itself and secondly classical method when the signal is extended in each decomposition step. Both approaches have the same results of image reconstruction, but it distinguishes in calculated wavelet coefficients. Four kinds of signal border extension are compared by using MSE and PSNR. The results of all approaches are similar, however the smooth padding of order 0 and symmetric-padding could be slightly favored against smooth padding of order 1 and zero-padding which shows higher MSE.
Integration of a co-generation unit to industrial power system

This master's thesis deals with the integration of a mine gas burning cogeneration unit into industrial power system. The aim of the thesis is to design and evaluate different possibilities of integration the cogeneration unit into industrial power system. The first, theoretical part of the thesis discuss about cogeneration (combined heat and power). The technologies used for cogeneration are summed up as well as the possibilities of usage. The next part deals with the mine gas as the fuel for the cogeneration units. The lasts chapters of the theoretical part talks about terms for installation power source into industrial power system and about the possibilities of overflow of the electricity into distribution power system. The practical part deals with the installation of the 600 kW cogeneration unit into particular industrial power system. Four possibilities of operation mode of the cogeneration unit are design. At the end of the thesis the brief economical evaluation is accomplished.
Grapple saw for wheel loader

This bachalor's thesis deals with proposal and fortification calculation of Grapple saw, which are intended as a supplementary device for wheel loaders. Equipment is used for handling of timber. According to the selected loader, size and dimensions of individual parts of wellings are designed. Cross-sections design and strength verification of wallings parts - wallings's forks, moveable parts of wallings, pins connecting the different wallings's parts, were done. The work also includes drawings documentation of Grapple saw.
Usage of modern technologies to design beer glass for brewery Starobrno, a.s.

This bachelor thesis focuses on the use of the additive technology Rapid Prototyping for the design and the production of the beer glass model. The part of this work is to create the real 3D model of the beer glass with the parametric program SolidWorks with the subsequent description of available Rapid Prototyping technologies. Production of the beer glass will be implemented on the 3D printer uPrint with using the Fused Deposition Modeling method and compared with other available methods.

The thesis is devided into three main parts, the first part is the theoretical background of processed issues. The second part analyzes the current state and procedure of organizing events, the third part consists of solution to the issue and suggested solution. All thesis is generaly summarised in the last part.
Adaptive data compression by neural networks

Point of the work is using of neural networks for the datecompression. This brings new possibilities as by lossless as lossy compression. Draft of a few compress algorithm show the behaviour, advantages and weak points of these systems. As the solution we use knowledge of the layered perceptron Network and we try by the change of the structure and subparameters to teach such network to compress the data, according to our entry requirement. These networks have also advantages, which are meanwhile impediment to the using practically. The goal of this is to try some algorithms, look into their characteristics and posibility of the using. Then propose next posibility solutions and upgrading of these algorithms.
Proposal for Changes to the Information System of Small Business

This bachelor thesis deals with the design of changes to the company's information system MKM Pack s.r.o., which will lead to the improvement of efficiency and the current state. In the first part I describe the basic concepts that are necessary to understand the topic or closely related to it. In the second part, I assess the state of the company and its information system with the help of the developed analyses. Based on these analyses, I have found the shortcomings of the information system, on which I have suggested changes in the final numbered chapter.
Analysis of energy balances for energy communities

The bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of the state of energy communities in the EU and the Czech Republic in order to provide a comprehensive view of their functioning and potential. Key aspects of energy communities are discussed, including the legal framework and technological options. The main objective of this thesis was to analyse the possibility of applying community energy to the municipality of Bánov. Based on the analysis, several options for the development of energy communities in the municipality are proposed. The performed calculations and analysis serve as a basis for assessing the potential and effectiveness of the proposed measures.
