Reception of Classical Antiquity in Short School Writings from the Late Middle Ages - Edition and Introduction
Kozák, Jakub ; Doležalová, Lucie (advisor) ; Kiss, Farkas Gábor (referee)
The following bachelor thesis is the editio princeps and English translation of four short Latin pieces of writing of Czech origin which were copied by the scribe Crux of Telč in the mid-15th century and which deal with antiquity and classical mythol- ogy. The edition is supplied with critical apparatus and apparatus fontium that points out the textual tradition of the edited opuscules. The thesis is opened with an introductory study setting the texts into the general context of the reception of an- tiquity in the Middle Ages; especially highlighted is the use of themes of classical antiquity within the school education, where the edited texts belong as well. Besides the edition itself, the goal of the thesis is to illustrate in form of short case studies on the particular texts how the ancient culture and literature was reflected in the Middle Ages and the variety of "afterlife" it had.
Modelování růstu kostní chrupavky na biodegrabilním scafoldu při mechanickém zatěžování.

In the present work we study modeling of hyaline cartilage growth. We start with exploration of the background of the problem, i.e. biology of cartilage, possibilities of cartilage healing and methods of tissue engineering. Derivation of modified mass action law follows. It provides possibility of including chemical reactions and mechanical stimuli into the model. We use this equation for mathematical formulation of the cartilage growth model, which has the form of reaction-diffusion equations. This model is analyzed then and compared with the experiment. It gives some parameters of the model which quantitatively describe cartilage growth in vitro.

Interactive collaborative enviroments are solved by many companies and research teams. This thesis is focused on design and development of own system for gesture recognition based on Microsoft Kinect controller. The system is focused on collaboration of multiple users. Therefore, proposed solution can distinguish interactions of different users. The result allows to create an interactive area from a common wall using a computer, projector and Kinect controller.
Ontology Enrichment Based on Unstructured Text Data
Lukšová, Ivana ; Nečaský, Martin (advisor) ; Kozák, Jakub (referee)
Title: Ontology Enrichment Based on Unstructured Text Data Author: Ivana Lukšová Department: Department of Software Engineering Supervisor: Mgr. Martin Nečaský, Ph.D., Department of Software Engi- neering Abstract: Semantic annotation, attaching semantic information to text data, is a fundamental task in the knowledge extraction. Several ontology-based semantic annotation platforms have been proposed in recent years. However, the process of automated ontology engineering is still a challenging problem. In this paper, a new semi-automatic method for ontology enrichment based on unstructured text is presented to facilitate this process. NLP and ma- chined learning methods are employed to extract new ontological elements, such as concepts and relations, from text. Our method achieves F-measure up to 71% for concepts extraction and up to 68% for relations extraction. Keywords: ontology, machine learning, knowledge extraction 1

Internet Gambling in the USA - regulation and prohibition
Kozák, Jakub ; Šíma, Josef (advisor) ; Ždímal, Martin (referee)
This diploma thesis is focused on comparison of two political approaches to a quite new e-commerce industry -- internet gambling. These approaches are prohibition on the one hand and regulation, free market environment, on the other hand. Internet gambling became the worldwide phenomenon. However, American legislators had passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act 2006 in 2006 which outlawed an internet gambling. The declared purpose of this Act is protection of families against ill effects, such money laundering, underage gambling and problem gambling on society. This paper argues that regulation and free market environment established in Great Britain is much more effective way how to solve these key issues. There is demonstrated in the paper that free market stands for economically preferable option and contains better instruments for solving the issues at the same time.
Impact of taxation on economic growth
