The risk of learning disability in preschool children with communication disorders

This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of the risk of specific learning disabilities based on the partial function deficits in preschool children with communication disorders. The bachelor thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part describes the terminology closely related to communication disorders. In addition, the thesis defines and clarifies the terminology of specific learning disabilities, their subdivisions as sell as describes the deficits of the partial function deficits, which are related to them. In the practical part, the course of the research investigation is described, and the analysis of the results is also carried out. The qualitative research was conducted in a preschool institute, and with the consent of the legal guardians of the participating children, individual anamneses of each children were taken. Subsequently, the diagnostic method of B. Sindelar, its evaluation and comparison with other individuals was carried out. The thesis also attempts to compare with the results published in the available literature on a similar topic. Possibilities of using art therapy to develop self-confidence in communication in children with communicative disability

Bakalářská práce se zabývá rozvojem sebevědomí při komunikaci u dětí prvního stupně s narušenou komunikační schopností pomocí arteterapie. V úvodní kapitole je podrobně popsána narušená komunikační schopnost a jaký má vliv na osobnost dítěte. Je zde kladen důraz na sebevědomí v komunikaci u osob s NKS. Druhá kapitola se zaměřuje na arteterapii. Popisuje jednotlivé formy, fáze setkání, metody, vymezuje cíle arteterapie a konkrétně arteterapii u osob s NKS. V poslední části je navržen arteterapeutický program cílený na rozvoj sebevědomí při komunikaci. Je rozvržen detailně do deseti setkání a zohledňuje specifické potřeby dítěte. Postupuje dle náročnosti. Hlavním cílem navrženého programu je nejen rozvoj sebevědomí při komunikaci, ale také odreagování a rozvoj fantazie. Support in the education of pupils with developmental language disorder in mainstream primary school

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of developmental language disorder and the support of pupils with this disorder in the educational environment of a mainstream primary school. The thesis focuses on the characteristics of developmental language disorder, its etiology, symptomatology, diagnosis and therapy. It also addresses the specific speech, language and communication needs of school-age pupils and their development in the school environment. In the context of inclusive education, the principles of inclusive pedagogy and the possibilities of primary education for pupils with developmental language disorders are described, including support from school counselling centres and individual education plans. The main aim of the research work was to analyse the possibilities of supporting pupils with developmental language disorder in mainstream primary school. The research investigation was carried out using a quantitative questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was sent to 224 primary schools in the Zlín region. A total of 104 respondents completed it. Development of individual language levels in preschool children

The diploma thesis deals with the development of language levels in children aged 5 to 6 years. These are children before starting primary school. At this age, the stage of preschool education and the development associated with it ends. The end of this period is specific in that children are preparing for the start of compulsory schooling. By the end of the preschool period, the child should achieve certain results in the development of language levels. The goal of the practically oriented part of the diploma thesis is to analyze the development of language levels in preschool children. The work is logically divided into two parts. The first of them introduces speech development, defines the pre-school period and delimits language levels on the basis of documents from the specialist literature. These are theoretical knowledge necessary to create a comprehensive picture of the investigated issue. The bachelor thesis is focused on the provision of speech therapy intervention in children's homes in the Královéhradecký region.The bachelor thesis is divided into three chapters, two theoretical and one empirical chapter. In the first chapter of the theoretical part, basic concepts such as speech therapy, communication, speech, language and impaired communication ability are explained. Next, the first chapter is devoted to the development of speech, language and communication within the planes and lastly, it describes children's homes and their functioning, the role of the educator and the child and the communication skills of children from children's homes. The second chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to speech therapy intervention, the definition of the term and its activities, its position within the health and education departments. Public Awareness of Selective Mutism

This bachelor thesis deals with elective mutism. Attention was paid to the definition, symptomatology and speech therapy intervention of this communication disorder, and above all to the analysis of the level of public awareness of elective mutism. Analyzing the level of public awareness of elective mutism was the main research objective of this paper. The motivation for investigating this issue was the fact that there is currently no research survey in the Czech Republic that would map the public's awareness of elective mutism. However, a higher level of public awareness of this disorder has a positive effect on early diagnosis, and early diagnosis positively affects the success of subsequent therapy. The research was conducted using quantitative research, with a questionnaire used as a research tool. The administration of the questionnaire was carried out online, data collection was completed after obtaining 200 responses. The obtained data were processed in the MS Excel program. Subsequently, two predetermined hypotheses were tested, one of them saying that the level of elective mutism awareness dependents on the field of education of the respondents was confirmed.
