Guide to geological excursion in surroundings of Ostrava
Vašíček, Zdeněk ; Martinec, Petr ; Kožušníková, Alena ; Konečný, Pavel
The paper describes the most interesting geological localities in Ostrava region. Landek is unique outcrop of Carboniferous sediments of Upper Silesian Basin (Namurian A). Zámek Conglomerate outcrop is an important locality of the Poruba Member occurring near Silesian-Ostrava Castle. Exploitation of Pleistocene glacial gravels will be visited in Lake Kališčák near Bohumín. Geological “men made” locality is Ema dump which consists of waste rocks of Ostrava Formation.
Výskyt uhlí v okolí Erigava (Republika Somailand)
Konečný, Pavel ; Oliwkiewicz-Miklasinska, M.
The occurrence of Jurassic to Miocene coal in Republic Somaliland was described in literature. Some coal samples were collected in 2007 near Erigavo. On the base of palynological analysis the Jurassic age is suggested for examined coal. Content of ash of tested sample was 71,24% so that the sample is classified as a carbonaceous siltstone. The reflectance of huminite is RN = 0,33 %. Based on this data the next geological investigation was recommended. Excursion guide – sediments of Devon, Upper Carboniferous and Neogen in the Hranice area
Konečný, Pavel ; Kožušníková, Alena ; Vašíček, Zdeněk
This paper – geological guide deals with the geological situation in the area of Hranice na Moravě. It is described the quarry in Hrabůvka with LowerCarboniferous sediments, quarry Skalka with Upper Devonian limestone, Hůrka locality with outcrop of contact of Upper Devonian and Lower Carboniferous sediments and Abyss of Hranice.
Laboratorní měření rychlosti průchodu ultrazvukových vln za trojosého stavu napjatosti
Konečný, Pavel
Measurement of the ultrasonic wave velocity on rock samples is one of the standard methods of laboratory study of geomaterials. However, the utrasonic wave velocity change due to impact of state of stress. Therefore, the measuremet is performed both in uniaxial and triaxial state of stress to study the ultrasonic wave velocity changes in the process of loading. The method of measurement in triaxial state of stress and first results are presented in this paper.
Laboratory measurement of mechanical rock properties in Institute of Geonics
Konečný, Pavel
There is the information about laboratory measurement methods of physical properties of rocks used in Institute of Geonics. The uniaxial and triaxial measurement of stress – strain properties are described in this paper. The laboratory equipment is presented, too.
Změny fyzikálních vlastností granitu vlivem teploty a režimu temperace
Kožušníková, Alena ; Konečný, Pavel ; Pivodová, Kateřina
With the increasing temperature a decrease in the ultrasonic wave velocity, bulk density, strength, modulus of elasticity and an increase in permeability, porosity were observed. Influence of temperature on strength and elasticity modulus of granite appeared until at higher temperatures (above 500°C) and more noticeable changes of physical properties were observed for shock tempering specimens.
Excursion to Silesian and Subsilesian units of outer West Carpathians
Vašíček, Z. ; Konečný, Pavel ; Martinec, Petr
The stratigraphy of Silesian and Subsilesian unit is described in this guide book. Three localities are characterisied – Frenštát mine, Marák quarry and river-basin of Ostravice river in Ostravice.
Physical properties of carboniferous and permian rocks: comparison
Konečný, Pavel ; Kožušníková, Alena ; Singh, S. K. ; Ščučka, Jiří
Results of tests of mechanical properties of Carboniferous rocks from Czech republic and Permian rocks from India and their comparison are presented on this paper. Influence of degree of coalification, mineral (maceral) composition and diagenesis on physical properties is visible from these experiments.
