Cloud Computing in Public Sector - Benefits and Risks

(anglicky) This thesis deals with benefits and risks of using cloud computing in public sector institutions. The thesis focuses mainly on the usage of public cloud deployment model. The thesis is divided into 4 main chapters. The first chapter presents definition and basic characteristics of cloud computing. The second part consists of PESTL analysis that describes the impact of macro-environmental factors (namely political, economical, social, technological and legal factors) on the use of cloud computing in public sector institutions. The third part presents SWOT analysis of cloud computing and its use in public sector. The fourth chapter presents a case study of the implementation of cloud computing services at The Faculty of Arts of the Charles University. The results of the conducted analysis tend to positive effects of cloud computing use in public sector institutions, presuming a proper risk analysis is done before implementation begins. Reasons and results of software piracy

Práce je věnována příčinám a důsledkům softwarového pirátství. Podává přehled definic a typologie softwarového pirátství, přehled historie vývoje sledované problematiky i důvodů a podmínek vzniku softwarového pirátství. Rozebírá vztah softwarového pirátství k informačnímu průmyslu. Prezentuje vybrané mezinárodní a státními organizace, které se touto problematikou zabývají. Analyzuje otázky související s legalitou softwarových prostředků. Popisuje jednotlivé druhy metod a postupů softwarového pirátství. Ve svém závěru hodnotí druhy nákladů na ochranu dat a vliv těchto nákladů na výsledné ceny softwaru.

Digitization seminar for regional libraries

V průběhu semináře byly akcentovány témata strategie digitalizace větších knihoven s ohledem na výběr podkladů a technologií, dále způsoby a nástroje k uchovávání, popisu a zpřístupnění digitalizovaného fondu. NTK v současnosti řeší stejné problémy jako krajské knihovny a národní knihovna, jako přínosné se tedy jeví spolupráce mezi institucemi. Podnětné byly informace o aplikacích pro Kramerius, které NTK plánuje otestovat a možnost využít institucionálního Krameria i pro jiné knihovny na základě omezení přístupu. Přínosné bylo také navázání kontaktů s oddělením NKP věnujícímu se tvorbě standardů pro metadatový popis.

Konference Ebooks 2014 - Beyond the Ebook se odehrávala v Roberts G06 Sir Ambrose Fleming Lecture Theatre na University College London a to 08. 07. 2014 . Za NTK byl přítomen Jan Kolátor, který se problematikou elektronických knih a jejich půjčování v NTK zabývá. Poznatky anglických vysokých škol jsou sice odlišné množstvím prostředků , které vynakládají v této oblasti, ale jejich zkušenosti s kolaborativním nákupem elektronických knih, publikováním v knihovnách a chováním vysokých škol a jejich knihoven na sociálních sítích jsou aplikovatelné i v prostředí CHemTK.
