Client's life at Special Needs Nursing Home and their activation
Kolářová, Kristýna ; Válková, Monika (advisor) ; Kaňák, Jan (referee)
In my diploma thesis entitled The life of clients of the Home with Special Regime and their activation, I deal with issues related to activation programs for the elderly and their effectiveness. The use of exploratory questions using case studies of clients provides insight into their daily routines and into their leisure time that can be used for activation. The aim of this survey is to seek to expand opportunities to develop current but also future activation. The thesis also looks at the different types of therapies (art therapy, music therapy, drama therapy, etc.) that are suitable for use in a Special Needs Home. The thesis also focuses on activation workers who should be provided with motivation to work with clients. Due to the covid crisis, I was forced to focus only on the Home with Special Regime, within the CSOP of Prague 15. The practical part is devoted to a survey to determine the quality of the current activation and to focus on improving future activation programs. The results of the survey show that the clients of the Home are satisfied with the current activation, although there are some reservations from the respondents, which, thanks to the survey and the answers from the survey questions, showed that there is room to start addressing these inequalities.

U.S. and Canadian Anabaptist Communities' Interaction with Majority Society
Kolářová, Kristýna ; Calda, Miloš (advisor) ; Pondělíček, Jiří (referee)
The subject of this bachelor thesis is the interaction of Anabaptist communities with the majority society. For this purpose the paper focuses on the three largest communities in the United States of America and Canada - the Old Order Amish, the Old Order Mennonites and the Hutterites. These communities have the same origin in the sixteenth century reformation but they differ in many aspects. This paper will address particularly the interaction with the society, as the communities are advocates of isolation from the corrupted outside world. However, complete isolation is unrealistic, therefore the thesis examines in what areas of life the interaction occurs and at what level. Those are the main questions that this thesis seeks to answer. For a better display of the interaction in different areas of life, the main part of the paper is divided into four chapters pursuant to the areas in which interaction occurs the most according to the author. In each chapter the given communities are compared. The results of the research are evaluated in the conclusion. They include the fact that the Hutterites live in the greatest physical isolation because they are isolated geographically. That allows them to loosen the rules inside the colonies, like for example with technology and education. The highest level...
Importance of Being Sage: Religious and Philosophical Aspects in J.D. Salinger's Glass Stories
Kolářová, Kristýna ; Ženíšek, Jakub (advisor) ; Topolovská, Tereza (referee)
This bachelor thesis discusses the religious and philosophical questions with respect to the autobiographical elements contained in J.D. Salinger's Glass stories. An attempt to elucidate the death of Seymour Glass has been made on the basis of those questions. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. In the first part the persona of J.D Salinger, Zen Buddhism and Advaita Vedanta are presented along with the Glass family, whose members are shortly introduced. They appear overall in eight stories, namely "A Perfect Day for Bananafish" (1948), "Uncle Wiggily in Connecticut" (1948), "Down at the Dinghy" (1949), "Franny" (1955), "Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters" (1955), "Zooey" (1957), "Seymour: An Introduction" (1959) and "Hapworth 16, 1924" (1965). The second part focuses in particular on Seymour, Buddy, Zooey and Franny, about whom the most information is given. Salinger's criticism of the 1950s American society is reflected upon the characters via religious and philosophical elements, which penetrate all of the stories, and have not a little impact on each character.
