Approval system with automated check in web browser
Svetosheva, Anastasia ; Travěnec, Jiří (referee) ; Kolářová, Jana (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the development of an approval system for the Ethics Committee, which is engaged in biomedical research. The aim of the thesis is to describe the functioning and requirements of the Ethics Committee and to consider how it is possible to incorporate these requirements into the approval system. Furthermore, the thesis will explore login methods for different types of users, such as applicants and committee members, and a database will be created and integrated. The approval system itself will include automatic checks where committee members will be notified by email after a change in the status of an application. The system will also include a daily automatic reminder by email if there are less than 10 days left until the end of the deadline for the Ethics Committee’s review. Within the framework of this thesis, potential processes for the approval of applications for biomedical research by the Ethics Committee will also be described, and possible methods of providing feedback will be proposed. The intention of this work is to create a functional and user-friendly approval system that effectively meets the requirements of theEthics Committee for biomedical research.
Heart rate changes during walking and running
Smolinský, Dominik ; Kozumplík, Jiří (referee) ; Kolářová, Jana (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is concerned with monitoring dynamic changes in heart rate during walking and running. The heart rate is calculated from the QRS complexes of the ECG signal. The aim of this thesis is to summarize the theoretical knowledge and then make measurements of individuals from 2 groups, fit athletes and less fit athletes. Thus, the theoretical part is discussed first, where all the information regarding the cardiovascular system, heart rate and HRV are described. The second part of the thesis is practical and deals with specific measurements, their processing and statistic analysis. It also describes the basic equipment and measurement protocol.

Analysis of clinical data in cochlear implantation
Staňková, Helena ; Kolářová, Jana (referee) ; Odstrčilík, Jan (advisor)
Cochlear implants compensate various audiological disorders in postlingually and prelingually deaf patients. Clinical examinations including radiological, anatomical and audiological measurments provide crucial informations leading to cochlear implantation and optimal postoperative rehabilitation. In cooperation with ORL clinic at St. Anne’s University Hospital this work deals with analysis of clinical data provided by cochlear implant users. Data analysis includes otological planning with OTOPLAN software, use of MAESTRO software, TomoCon software and hospital information system. Data were statistically processed using MATLAB programming language. Work results based on diverse data bring an united view, which could serve as helpful indicator in preimplantation and post-operative care in newly implanted patients.
Analysis of heart rate variability in animal models
Řehořková, Iveta ; Ronzhina, Marina (referee) ; Kolářová, Jana (advisor)
This paper deals with the analysis of heart rate variability (HRV) in animal models. The first part discusses, the basic information concerning the ECG, both in humans and in individual laboratory animals. This is followed by an introduction to the topic of heart rate variability, a description of methods for its determination and the effects of pathologies on HRV values. Prior to the practical section, the methods of ECG acquisition in animal models are discussed, and the function of the perfusion model used in capturing data for this work is also described in detail. The last part deals with the analysis of HRV provided data, performed in Matlab environment and an evaluation of the chosen methods.
Suppression of the responsive component of electrodermal activity
Vraný, Jakub ; Vičar, Tomáš (referee) ; Kolářová, Jana (advisor)
Electrodermal acitivity is a kind of electrochemical signal generated with relation to activity of the autonomic nervous system that stimulates the sweat glands. In this way, is it possible to measure the activity of the sympathetic part of the nerve systém and evaluate the cognitive stress of the treated person, which is manifested by responsive signals in EDA record, respectively to increased occurence of responses. The aim of this work is to design a deep learning algorithm for the identification of this component in the record of data taken from UBMI database. The recordings contain a sequence of measurements the conductance of the skin of patient, who was subjected alternately to the states of rest and subsequently a state of mental stress. The data were annotated according to presence of the responsive components occuring in the records of EDA. Subsequently, a suitable deep learning algorithm was implemented in order to classify the responsive components in the measured EDA signal. The neural network model has been taught, optimized and implemented on the measurement samples using annotated data. The obtained results data were statistically evaluated to qualify the success of the classification of responsive components and differences in the records of mental calm and stress. The results of the classification and comparison of EDA records measured at different conditions of the patient were discussed subsequently.
